That spot has always been a bad spot on that road. It’s has always been a major ISWAP checkpoint. The Military should be fast on its offensive hopefully in November as the rains are here.

ISWAP can only conduct ambushes for now as the terrain are water logged.

Tucano don show Naija make offensive start especially Chad basin

Thank you

This is a dumb comment, how did America's nation building objective in Afghanistan turn out?

"Did the US stop Afghanistan from becoming a terrorist haven? Is ISIS-K not present in Afghanistan?".

American policy in Afghanistan was to develop Democratic institutions, did that happen?

Don't try to be smart by half.

Obviously you were still in diapers in 2001 to believe the US was in Afghanistan for nation building, how was nation building a primary foreign policy objective of someone that just lost 3000 citizens to terror attack? does that make sense? can't you think?

This is common misconception, the mission in Afghanistan was never about nation building. This has been said clearly by all administrations from Bush-Obama-Trump and this is the reason why any efforts to build democratic structures were done so half-heartily.

Dont waste your time with kids they heard Afghanistan last week for the first time in their lives. The same urchins will be first to call you dumb while oozing pathetic ignorance.
The first action in Afghanistan after the Mujahedeen victory over Russia was under Clinton's administration, US went there to bomb the living hell out of Al-Qaida in retaliation for their embassy bombing in Kenya & Tanzania, then came Bush, first action in Afghanistan was the battle of Torah Borah in retaliation for 9/11, since 1997, US foreign policy in Afghanistan has always been counter terrorism, most of them social media commentators today at the time couldn't afford electricity let alone follow the war, from a digital TV.
Today, they are all experts typing rubbish!!

And you couldn't have made your point without being an A-hole? Good job kid.
If you think everyone there has papers to travel etc, then you are the re- tarded one. There will always be people looking to escape an hellish situation, therefore I'm sure some of these people are there looking for actual help, regardless if they have any documentation.
There is a reason the Taliban is helping control masses of people rushing that same airport, this was in US news just yesterday, so you are saying they all have papers or documentation but Taliban is turning them back?
I don't give a fvk about any of this, but next time, come correct or get lost.
be a decent fvking human being and don't insult people you have no prior issues with, idiot.

jpphilips:

That is why Nigerians are not mentally fit to use the social media because there is always a r@tarded explanation to a simple incident.

If you looked carefully at those in that Kabul airport, you would've noticed they had papers, what do you think that paper is?

The stowaway teenager that fell off the sky was identified by the same paper that flew with him, did you bother to find out what that paper signified?

US months ago have been processing documentations for those that worked with them in different capacities, trainers, minders, interpreters, teachers, care givers, cleaners, HUMINT, Embassy employees etc.
These Afghans over the last 20yrs have a huge number, Talibans has a Fatwa on their heads since 2010, immediately US announced their withdrawal, those people ensured the US evacuate them, so those Afghans at the airport are those whose fate are already sealed not your usual Afghan people on the street.

When they heard Taliban had taken over Kabul, they panicked & disrupted a once orderly evacuation process.
Don't think the average Afghan from Kandahar is looking for a stowaway opportunity in Kabul, that is not happening.

EXHIBIT PROFESSIONALISM COMPETENCE AND GALLANTRY – COAS TELLS TROOPS

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has charged troops of the Nigerian Army to always exhibit professionalism, competence and gallantry in the conduct of military operations across the country.

Lieutenant General Yahaya stated this while addressing troops of 2 Division Nigerian Army at the Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment Parade Ground, during his working visit to the Division.

He urged the troops to deploy their competency, skill and experience gained over the years against the nation's adversaries, especially in the ongoing onslaught against terrorism, banditry and other sundry crimes in the country.

The COAS lauded the troops for their perseverance and will, in fighting the insecurity bedeviling the nation. He enjoined them to continue to improve the conduct of all ongoing operations in order to effectively tackle security challenges in the country.

He called on officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officers (SNCOS) to lead by good example, adding, that he is poised to reward gallantry, professional conduct and excellence. He however stressed that he will not hesitate to punish those who portray the Army in bad light.

General Yahaya averred that the military hierarchy has resolved to provide all necessary requirements for personnel to progress and aspire to any higher rank through training, welfare and enabling environment, conducive for troops and their families.

He assured that vehicle and tied down accommodation will be provided for Regimental Sergeant Majors (RSM) at formation and unit levels to enhance proficiency and productivity.

During the working visit to the Division, the COAS commissioned an Indoor Sports Hall at Maj Gen John Mark Inienger sports complex, to be named after Late General Ibrahim Attahiru and the administrative block at the Tiger Mini Estate, Alapata, Ibadan. The COAS also presented a brand new Toyota Hilux as an official vehicle to the Division's Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), Army Warrant Officer Samuel Odeh.

General Yahaya later paid a courtesy call on the executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr Olusheyi Makinde and His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso 1, the Olubadan of Ibadan Land.

Power drunk officers from the EFCC stormed the residence of Nigerian entertainer Dorathy Bachor located at Lekki, Lagos on Monday evening.

The officers were humiliated earlier on Monday after Dorathy shared pictures of their barbaric and unprofessional invasion of her apartment at 4:00 a.m. over purported search for Internet fraudsters.

The EFCC has been breaching privacy of Nigerians across the southern parts of the country for several weeks, with officers breaking into hotel and residential apartments without knocking to the trauma of naked housewives and young girls.

Last month, the anti-graft office suffered immense public ridicule for breaking into Parktonian Hotel in Lagos, horrifying Nigerians and foreign investors who had lodged there.

A spokesman for the EFCC later justified the act of storming in on naked men and women as necessary because some Internet fraudsters have perfected the tactics of using women as shields to evade arrest.

On Monday evening, the EFCC again justified breaking into Dorathy’s apartment, saying only those who have anything to fear would be concerned about invasion of privacy.

Shortly after the statement was circulated, reports emerged again that EFCC operatives returned to the apartment, breaking in and harassing residents for filming their earlier invasion and circulating it online.

This evening’s raid was captured on Instagram live by Dorathy’s sister, and it showed an officer knocking a man separately filming the incident to the ground and breaking his device.

A spokesman for the EFCC did not return request for comment.

Officer Gunned Down, ‘Two Majors’ Kidnapped As Bandits Break Into Nigerian Defence Academy

Bandits have invaded the Afaka barracks of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, killing a naval officer....

By Maryam Ahmadu-Suka,

Bandits have invaded the Afaka barracks of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, killing a naval officer.

The bandits were also said to have also kidnapped two majors.

Daily Trust gathered that the bandits who attacked the barracks around 1am on Tuesday are still be inside the academy.

A reliable source within the barracks told our correspondent that security has been beefed up within and around the barracks to stop the bandits from escaping with the officers.

“It was a terrible experience, the bandits took advantage of the time when most people had gone to bed to attack the barracks.”

“Right now, the whole barracks is under lock and key and security has been beefed up so that the bandits cannot leave the barracks because it is believed that they are still within,” the source said.

One of the officers who was injured in the attack is currently being treated at a hospital within the barracks.

The source said that there are, however, fears that the bandits may decide to kill the officers in a bid to escape.

The Academy Public Relations Officer, Major Bashir Jajira did not respond to calls put across to him by our correspondent.

Details later…
