The Islamic States West African Province (ISWAP) faction of the Boko Haram has warned some Borno State residents, particularly in communities under its control against giving out information to the Nigerian Army.

The terrorists conveyed the warning in fliers distributed by members of the group in what seemed to be a market setting in Borno State, according to a report by HumAngle.

From pictures posted, one of the ISWAP terrorists was seen handing out the flier to a driver in a car like a taxi.

The flier’s title reads, “A message from the caliphate’s troops to the people of a new town.”

The terrorists spread propaganda that the Nigerian Army forced the villagers out of their homes and that the military were their true adversaries, not the ISWAP.

“We were not the ones who chased you out of your place from the beginning,” one of the messages in the fliers read. “These people who call themselves the Nigerian Army are the ones who chased you out, killed you, and are the wicked ones.”

ISWAP has recently turned to propaganda to propagate its cause.

The terrorists have also offered aid and money to the people in an effort to entice them to live under their caliphate.

SaharaReporters had recently reported that the Director-General, Centre for Justice on Religion and Ethnicity in Nigeria, Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa, once revealed that members of ISWAP took over some parts of Borno without any military intervention.

Dikwa had told SaharaReporters that the terrorists stopped vehicles along Maiduguri- Damaturu Road at Mainok and kidnapped motorists and commuters without any disturbance.

It had also been reported that ISWAP introduced mobile courts overseeing the insurgents’ activities and groups under the leadership of the Islamic State Of Iraq and Syria.

The insurgents had also established two Wilaya’s (Caliphates) at Lake Chad and Sambisa Forest to sustain its war against countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The terrorist group was said to have lifted the ban imposed on fishing and farming activities in the Lake Chad area, three years after chasing people out of for allegedly spying for Nigerian troops.

It, nevertheless, imposed new taxes and levies in the areas controlled by ISWAP-Boko Haram, to regulate trades and agricultural activities.

Several fishermen, farmers and merchants had returned to the Lake-Chad area to engage in socio-economic activities, under the arrangement of the new ISWAP-Boko Haram leadership.

If there is one thing that will destroy the work of the current service chiefs, it is lack of publicity.
The fact that many people believe the military isn't doing anything about bandits and criminals is in itself a driving force for criminality. In order for deterrence to work, it must be adequately publicized.
Apart from deterrence, showing members of the public their efforts in protecting their lives and properties will increase people's confidence and trust in them which will lead to increase support and intelligence gathering.
It is human nature to always want to belong to the winning side. This is exactly why many are afraid to provide the military with information because they are afraid of what the bandits/terrorists will do to them when they "win"

FG did not withdraw any right. It is ignorant comments like these that lead to looting, violence and crisis in Nigeria.

CAF and FIFA own broadcast rights for all AFCON & FIFA related qualifiers tournaments, not government.

Some suspected bandits have again attacked Nahuche district in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State in the wee hours of Friday.

According to an eyewitness, Malan Abubakar, among those killed was a mobile police officer and a local vigilante leader.

According to him, two women and two men were abducted by the bandits during the operation.

Malan Abubakar told DAILY POST that the bandits first invaded a nearby village in Nahuche called Gidan Jan Bula and used motorcycles to kill the vigilante leader of the village after he fought them.

“They also whisked away my wife and moved her for captivity,” he said.

He said that the bandits later attacked Nahuche police station where they engaged mobile policemen in a gun duel, during which an officer was killed.

Abubakar added that the bandits later moved to invade the house of Alhaji Makwashe Nhuche, a businessman, saying that the bandits abducted two other persons including a woman.

According to him, the bandits stormed the area at about 3:00am on Friday and left after 4:00am.

When conacted for confirmation, the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shehu Muhammad, could not be reached for comment as his phones were switched off.

Our correspondent reports that the command usually snubs calls from newsmen to confirm bandits’ attacks.

Police tactical operatives in Zamfara state, in collaboration with other security agencies, have repelled a large number of armed bandits, who came to Shinkafi town in their hundreds, with intent to attack innocent people of the area.

In a statement issued to Newsmen in Gusau Friday, the the Public Relations Officer, SP Muhammad Shehu, said the bandits, who were from the camp of a notorious bandits kingpin, “TURJI” were heavily engaged in a gun duel by the Joint security forces stationed in Shinkafi to safeguard the lives and property of the community.

“At the end of the gun battle that lasted for hours, one of the bandits was fatally injured, while others escaped with possible bullet wounds,” he explained.

According to him, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba N Elkana, had already directed the immediate deployment of more security operatives to complement the existing security arrangements that will curtail any further attack by the bandits.

“The Commissioner of Police further commended the resilience of the operatives and charged them to sustain the tempo so that the state can be adequately protected,” he stated.

Is anyone interested in the history of the American Wild West, 1865 – 1895? I’m somewhat fascinated by the period. You’ll find that much of the so-called banditry plaguing the NE share a remarkable similarity. In the end, combination of Texas Rangers, reward placed on the heads of outlaws (bandits), hanging and the coming of the railways tamed the West. .

The vids are just about gunmen, not much about banditry, just for your mild amusementt, in these grim times we’re experiencing in Nigeria.

Funny enough I've already predicted some of these things happening in North West like (Negotiating hostage releases before operation)√, (telecoms shut down)√, (blocking of supply routes)√, (transfer of attack helicopters or other important platforms to NW from NE for a week operation while 4 A29s serve as CAS platform in the NE in meantime)***? etc.

I initially predicted that the shut down and military clearance would last just 7 days.

I feel the military not attacking bandits day by day are probably from the lessons of COIN i.e attacking terrorist or criminal groups bit by bit only strengthens them, but you put fear of God into their hearts when you go for an all out attack.

Now that the new necessary platforms are on ground I believe the military is about to carry out an all out attack to clear bandits camps in zamfara and NW in general.

DPO shielding rogue cops, dares me to report to Buhari – Victim’s wife

A newlywed woman, Sandra Broderick, is in tears over the mental state of her husband, Omesa Broderick, allegedly tortured by some policemen attached to B Division, Warri, Delta State.

While Omesa remains unstable after reportedly undergoing a brain surgery occasioned by the torture, the distraught wife lamented that erring cops identified as Ndubuisi, Felix and Felix Ezesobo, had yet to be brought to book.

Sandra, in a video that went viral on Wednesday, recounted how the policemen allegedly brutalised her husband, a tricycle rider, and left him for dead. It was learnt that the incident happened in August close to the police station.

She said the Divisional Police Officer, B Division, initially identified the power-drunk cops but later developed cold feet on the case and dared her to report the matter to higher authorities.

In the clip, the husband is seen lying helplessly, clutching at Sandra who narrated his ordeal amidst intermittent sobs.

“This is what the police did to me; police brutality. People should come to my aid,” she cried. “Policemen at B Division (Warri) beat up my husband. Two of them bear Felix, the third one is Ndubuisi. The police are hiding them. The DPO told me that they are from B Division but now the police are hiding them.”

She said Omesa sustained internal head injuries and underwent a brain surgery, noting they had spent “almost N5m to take care of him.”

The woman stated further that the policemen after beating her husband to a pulp, impounded his tricycle and kept it at a filling station, adding that it was a good Samaritan who came to his rescue.

“They were not even on duty on the day the incident happened close to B Division,” she narrated amid tears. “They went to change their uniforms, beat up my husband and left him around 7pm. It was around 9pm that somebody rescued him and called me with his phone.”

She stated that Omesa was rushed to the Central Hospital, Warri as he bled profusely through the mouth and nose, adding that he was referred to another hospital for a brain surgery.

“The surgery there (at the hospital) was expensive so we had to go to another hospital, Brayans,” she noted, before breaking down in tears. “That is where we did the operation.”

“This is him,” she continued after wiping off tears, patting her unconscious husband.

“The thing (injury) is affecting his brain,” Sandra added, before betraying emotions again. “He is behaving somehow and he is the breadwinner of the house. We just got married not long after. People should help us.”

She said the family had been bearing the cost for Omesa’s treatment without support from the police who she accused of shielding the perpetrators.

She stated, “I don’t have anybody. They have been pushing the matter here and there. Till now, (we did) not even (get) a penny from the B Division, the DPO or the police; nothing. They left it all for us, saying they will bring them (the policemen) out.

“Whether they have released them, I don’t know. I don’t know what is going on. They left my husband like this. You can see him. I, my mother-in-law and my father-in-law met with the DPO. He identified them as Ndubuisi, Felix and Felix Ezesobo. They are not bringing anybody out. The DPO said I can report to Buhari if I like.

“I asked for the surname of these people, they are hiding them. I reported to the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights. They are the ones that have been taking up the matter, looking for them (the policemen).”

But the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, denied that the policemen were being shielded by either the DPO or the command, claiming that the cops were undergoing an orderly room trial.

He said, “The DPO has been constantly checking on her and her husband. How possible that the DPO who informed the command and transferred the case to the State CID would tell her that (to report to Buhari)?

“The policemen are currently in detention and a press release will be issued at the end of the orderly room trial. The orderly room trial commenced last week but prior to that time, they had been in detention.”

https://punchng.com/newlywed-undergoes-brain-surgery-after-police-torture-remains-unstable/

It seems the NPF and Federal Government haven't learn anything from the ENDSARS protest. The FG is not doing enough about police brutality in Nigeria. A situation where a NPF personnel go dey tell you say he go kill you and nothing go happen, cause he knows he go talk say nah "accidental discharge" or make he tag you a thief, cultist or IPOB member, and there will be no investigation about the killing after that..And people go dey want make you feel pity for this things when they are been attacked and killed.

The security personnel and FG should know they are really pushing Nigerians to the wall, when the people decide to stand up and fight again, is going to be more crazy this time around

First In History: Saudi Arabia Graduates 1st Batch Of Female Soldiers.

A graduation ceremony for the first batch of Saudi female soldiers of the Armed Forces was held recently, the Arab News reported on Thursday. The group took part in a 14-week training from May 30 at the military' Women Cadre Training Center, it said.

The results of graduates, as well as the names of the most outstanding students and those who had been rewarded with prizes, were announced at the ceremony.

The kingdom opened military recruitment to women in February this year, as part of the efforts to empower Saudi females.

Saudi Arabia started allowing women to drive vehicles in 2018 after a decades-old ban. It was one of many initiatives to integrate women into the Saudi society, especially by providing them with job opportunities.
