Encrypted apps like WhatsApp is almost impossible to snoop except for some countries who have the capability to do so and that too becz they co-operate with each other.

Unless the data servers of Google etc r located within the country the surveillance will be limited. Mostly off line analysis to find patterns , behaviour etc and not real time.

Unless the data servers of Google etc r located within the country the surveillance will be limited. Mostly off line analysis to find patterns , behaviour etc and not real time.

My personal opinion

I suspect Nigeria has a pipeline to most intelligence material from the US in return for us spying on ISIS and Al qaeda cells. It is always a mistake to hope on one country's lack of capability.

PRESS RELEASE

TROOPS ENCOUNTER BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS

1.Troops of 242 Battalion deployed in operation LAFIA DOLE in conjunction with troops of operation LAST HOLD on 28 June 2018 while on raid patrol at Mallam Kafari, Goni, Alkari, Burburna , Kantanna villages in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno state encountered Boko Haram terrorists.

2. Three Boko Haram terrorists were neutralized during the encounter.

3. Items recovered include:

a. Two AK 47 rifles.

b. 51 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition.

c. Four Magazines.

d. One 36 Hand grenade

4. However, one soldier was wounded during the operation and is currently receiving medical attention.

5. The general public is hereby reminded once again to always report suspicious activities to the nearest military formation or any security agent for prompt action.

6. You are please requested to disseminate this information to the general public through your medium.

A lens view of this year's Nigerian Army Day Celebration #NADCEL2018 as the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai Visits the Gudumbali Community in Borno state where he kick started the resettlement of returned Internally Displaced Person (IDPs), conducted an environmental sanitation, donated two Tractors and some farm implements to the returned IDPs and also commissioned a Cenotaph for the remembrance of the Nigerian Troops who paid the supreme sacrifice in the fight insurgency.

BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS SURRENDER TO TROOPS

1. 32 Boko Haram terrorists have willingly surrendered to the Nigerian Army troops at different locations
in the theatre Borno State.

2. Among them was one Mallam Ibrahim Lawal who surrendered and also handed over one AK 47 rifle with two magazines containing 59 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition.

3. The surrendered terrorists are currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authority on completion.

PRESS RELEASE

NIGERIAN ARMY NEUTRALIZES BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS, RECOVER ARMS

1. Troops of 112 Task Force Battalion deployed in operation LAFIYA DOLE on 30 June 2018 while on clearance patrol to Anadawa village of Borno State neutralised five Boko Haram terrorists following a tip off.

2. Items recovered include:

a. One AK 47 rifle.

b. One magazine.

c. Four rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition.

d. Four Dane guns.

3. Similarly, troops repelled an attack by Boko Haram terrorists at Banki in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

4. Unfortunately two civilians lost their lives while three others sustained injuries.

5. One AK 47 rifle was recovered from the terrorists during the encounter.

6. The public is advised once more to report any suspicious movements or activities to the law enforcement agents.

7. You are please requested to disseminate this information to the general public.

DSS, while they're going for the most obvious things for intelligence gathering...forensics, is also very important! Information sharing of biometrics found at AOR can be useful if shared internally and externally.

The possibility of sleeper cells reactivating sometimes even around 'secured areas' boils down to missing chances in the past.

Egyptian Air defense Forces considers as one of the Largest Air defense Forces Among Middle east & North Africa countries, As #Egypt has large Fleet of Air defense Systems & early warning radars, Most of Egyptian Air defense Systems are Russian-Made Systems.

In 2014 Egypt signed a deal to supply it with S-300VM Air defense system, All system components were delivered by year-end 2017

Talks are ongoing for additional batteries, Also There’s large possibility that Egypt will get S-400 Long Range air defense systems in the future.

And We Must notice the Western Air defense units serve in Egypt’s Air defense Forces Fleet such as:- Modernized Crotale NG/ AN/TWQ-1 Avenger / MIM-72 Chaparral / MIM-23 Hawk All of them are Short/Medium Range Air Defense Systems.

Overview on some of radar systems operating in the Egyptian armed forces.

Commander-SL British Made early warning 3D radar, & It is capable of detecting cruise missiles, UAVs and long-range air munitions.

The Russian-made early warning 3D Radar “Protivnik-GE”, appeared for the First time in 2016 during 6th October Ceremony.

The Radar has the ability to detect the Strategic aircraft, fighter jets and ballistic missiles.

TPS-59V3 US-Made Early warning Radar, Can detect Ballistic missiles at High Altitude Ranges.

YLC-6 Chinese Made Early warning Radar, Egypt used to manufacture it locally with cooperation with China, it can detect low altitude Air Targets & has maximum range of 150Km.

SPS-48 Early Warning radar with maximum range of 460 Km, PRV-11 Radar & P-14 Russian-Made High Altitudes Early Warning Radar with maximum Range of more than 600 Km.

The Egyptian defence force operates the KTM Kineto Model-433 US-Made Electrostatic thermal tracking system.

It has important role in detecting of small-size UAVs and tracking Stealth Fighter Jets.

The Egyptian Air defense units don’t work independently, But They Work in Large Network & in IADS with AWACS E-2c planes, Fighter jets from Various types (F-16Block-52/40 - MIG-29M2 - Rafale - Mirage-2000).
