Someone asked for this
___
How the war in Libya is fought without weapons

From workshop to battlefield

No signs marked the entrance to the Mad Max weapons factory on the outskirts of Misrata; it was just an old garage with bare concrete walls. A bookshelf full of manuals for farm equipment stood near the door of the cavernous hall, serving as dusty reminders of better days, when mechanics focused their energies on maintaining a well oiled agricul-tural economy around the flourishing coastal city. In the summer of 2011, however, the civil war transformed every-thing.
Farms around Misrata turned into tactical terrain where troops loyal to Colonel Moammar Gadhafi fought pitched battles against ragged volunteers from the rebellious city.

No progress on Gripens for Botswana

.The government of Botswana says no deal has been signed yet for the acquisition of Gripen C/D fighter jets because it does not have the P15 billion ($1.7 billion) required to fund the purchase.

"Nothing has been finalised yet. In fact, nothing much has been done (with regards to the Gripen deal). We are still looking for better and affordable deals," Kgathi told the Botswana Gazette.

The paper also quoted BDF sources as saying the military's desire to acquire Gripens has been frustrated by budget

All you need to know about the made in Nigeria Army Helicopter

Nigerian Made Helicopter
In November 1995, following the execution of nine pro-democracy campaigners including Ken Saro-Wiwa, leader of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni Peoples, which campaigned against oil pollution by the multinational company Shell in the Niger Delta, Nigeria was suspended from the Commonwealth, became diplomatically isolated, and an arms embargo was imposed by the European Union via Common position 95/515/CFSP and the United States. Other measures contained the restriction of travel on military personnel and politicians and a ban on sporting contacts.

Another de facto arms embargo was also placed on Nigeria during the counter-insurgence fight by the then U.S. President Barack Obama which prevented the country from accessing the Embraer Super Tucano COIN turboprop aircraft.

Both arms embargo nearly rendered Nigeria’s military forces to near obsolescence and frustrated the fight against the rampaging terrorist sect.

With that incident still fresh, the Nigerian leadership began an ambitious self-sustaining drive, a salient pivotal move towards making use of indigenous weapons systems was formed.

This small but all-important self-sustaining drive has since brought some world class military equipment like the Tsaigumi Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, Igirigi APC, Proforce Ara MRAP , Gulma drone, All Terrain Assault Vehicle and rocket pods.e.t.c

This could be the first glimpse of how the Nigerian Army made helicopter could look like.
