Officers and soldiers slain in Metele have identity. Their efforts and sacrifices should not be in vain. The authorities must do what they must to prosecute the unnecessary war in the northeast to a logical conclusion. Rest in peace, Maj. (Dr) Alobi Nsor and companion.

One of the women who spoke said:

" We have no husbands, nothing to eat or drink, we are responsible for taking care of our children. The government should listen to our cry and come to our aid. We were in our village when President Buhari said he doesn't want poor people to suffer, that we should all come out, that we would be helped. So we all packed our belongings and left. But the Nigerian Army took many of the men and accused them of being 'Boko Haram'. They were Tortured, imprisoned and killed. Women and children were locked up in camps, starved, abused and raped."

Another woman recounted:

" You will see a soldier with food in his hands and he will say, 'if you like me, take this food'. They would say 'come with us' and we will think about our children crying for food. If you accept the food, he would come back later to have intercourse with you, and if you refused, he would use force to rape you."

The consequence?
Thousands died in camps

Now these women are writing letters, making lists of those missing, jailed and killed. They even testified before a government panel.

‘I pulled off this dirty uniform and fled’ — soldier speaks on deadly Boko Haram attack

November 26
11:17
2018

One of the soldiers who escaped the deadly attack on the military formation in Metele in Borno state on November 18 has narrated how he escaped.

Over 100 soldiers attached to 157 task force battalion were reportedly killed in the attack while the armoury at the formation was looted.

The Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) had claimed responsibility for the attack.

The soldier who spoke off the record said more than 100 of his colleagues fled the attack.

The soldier accused the military authorities of lying to the public about the insurgency in the north-east, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to act.

“Most of our people dropped their arms and pulled off this dirty uniform… the bodies of our troops littered everywhere but we watched the news and heard army headquarters saying troops repelled the attack,” he told TheCable.

“The army chief and other generals only sit in Abuja and lie to Nigerians whereas soldiers are being killed on daily basis. We lack manpower but nobody is telling the president the truth.

“The president should demand the whereabouts of all the soldiers deployed to Operation Last Hold to fight Boko Haram under Major General Abbah Dikko. The answer is, all of them have been crushed by Boko Haram and their new weapons and arms are what the Boko Haram is using to attack us. Please, help us tell Mr. President that the service chiefs are just lying to him.”

Another soldier said he and his colleagues engaged the insurgents in a gun battle for 40 minutes but they eventually ran out of ammunition.

He said troops at the formation were alerted about the attack one hour before the insurgents struck.

“Our commander, Lieutenant Colonel Sakaba told us to prepare for battle after being briefed by one of our soldiers whose duty is to monitor what is coming from distance,” he said.

“We engaged the terrorists for over 40 minutes before we ran out of ammunition on that very Sunday. They were well equipped and armed with rocket propelled grenades, more than 12 gun trucks mounted with anti-air craft shooting at us from a long range.

“Some of us ran out of bullets and they overpowered us, we fled but those who could not escape were slaughtered like chicken.

“Our formation is surrounded by big trenches and barbed wires, which became a trap and made it difficult for them to escape. I watched many of my fellow friends die helplessly in cold blood.”

Another soldier who wants to be identified at “God’s child”, said it was a miracle that they survived the onslaught.

PRESS BRIEFING BY THE ACTING DIRECTOR DEFENCE INFORMATION BRIGADEIER GENERAL JOHN AGIM ON THE ACTIVITIES OF CLEARANCE OPERATION IN LOKOJA KOGI STATE ON 24 NOVEMBER 2018

1. I am happy to be in your midst this morning on the occasion of press briefing on the activities of Clearance Operation in Kogi State which is being conducted by the combined forces of the military and other security agencies. This is my maiden Media chat since the inauguration of Clearance Operation which is now operating under the auspices of Operation 777. Operation 777 was launched on 8 October 2018 by Defence Headquarters to re-jig our existing operations all over the country in order to close gaps between them, and to avoid criminals and bandits escaping from one operation theatre to other. Clearance Operation has significantly achieved the set objectives for which Op 777 was set up.

2. Prior to the launch of Op 777 there was a large scale security threats in Kogi State. These included armed robbery, insurgent activities, boundary disputes, cattle rustling, political thuggery, cultism and kidnapping among others. The security threats had led to loss of lives, destruction of properties and disruption of socio-economic activities. The 3 senatorial areas of the State have their own peculiar nature of crime. The Eastern Senatorial District witnessed large scale destruction of lives and properties occasioned by ethnic rivalry, Western Senatorial District had incessant kidnappings and herdsmen/farmers clashes while Central Senatorial Zone was faced with assassination and kidnappings. With the commencement of Op 777 the troops put up offensive posture and embarked on series of operations that denied the hoodlums and criminals freedom of actions within the JOA.

3. Kogi State is strategic to the security and socio-economic calculation of Nigeria because it is a gateway between the northern and southern part of Nigeria. It also shares boundaries with nine states and FCT, as such, the state is susceptible to spill over effect of violence and other diverse influences from these contiguous states. There are 8 operation sectors within the JOA and each sector covers 2 to 3 LGAs. Each sector has established Sector Headquarters and 2 sub-sectors for administrative expediency. There are also 3 Senatorial zones in Kogi state; Kogi Central, East and West. For effective coordination of this exercise, all sectors were collapsed and a Battalion established in each of the senatorial zones, while a Brigade HQs is located at Central zone which oversees the Battalions. 91 Brigade located at Irepene, 911 Battalion at Odo Ape and 912 Battalion at Oku Obayin, while 913 Battalion is at Bassa.

4. In addition, the troops of Clearance Operation provide security to Key Points and Vulnerable Points such as Geregu Power Plant, Dangote Cement Factory Obajana and 2 strategic bridges at Jamata and Itobe. There are also escort duties on daily bases for high profile personalities plying routes within JOA. Troops also provide assistance to NEMA officials as well as monitoring distribution of relief materials at IDP Camps within the State.

5. Through the renew vigor and determination of the troops in this special operation, relative peace have been restored and hence, the troops dominate the operating environment, thereby creating safe and conducive atmosphere for socio-economic activities to thrive. Local traders, motorists, travelers and residents of villages/settlements in these general areas are now conducting their business unmolested. The relative peace and security being witnessed was made possible through joint operations and synergy of efforts by the security agencies and cooperative posture of the State Government, locals and other well meaning citizens of Kogi State.

6. It is noteworthy to mention that the intensity of offensive operation across the state has led to the recovering of some illegal arms and ammunition across the Clearance Operation’s JOA. These included:

a. 7 Locally fabricated guns.
b. 1 AK47 Rifle
c. 2 Magazines.
d. 45 Rounds of Assorted ammunition.

7. During the period under review, 20 notorious criminals were arrested, which included Mr Eleme Salihu, the kidnapper kingpin at Itobe in Ofu LGA of the State. The troops also foiled several kidnapping attempts and intensified continuous confidence building through patrols, show of force, blocking operations, as well as cordon and search. This strategy has yielded positive results with arrest of high profile suspects and recovering of weapons. Clearance Op also deters activities of illegal bunkering through routine patrols of pipelines within the JOA.

8. Ladies and Gentlemen, let me reassure members of the general public of our determination to protect lives and properties of law abiding citizens. Likewise, members of the public are enjoined to be security conscious and desist from any act that could breach peace and security. Youths should shun political thuggery, violent crimes, banditry and cultism.

9. Permit me at point to commend the media for your cooperation and support to Clearance Op. This support should be sustained in order to achieve a crime-free society and state. While pledging that our troops will continue to be professional in the discharge of their duties, law abiding citizens should endeavour to give timely information to security agencies for prompt action.

Your right. but it does not change a fact that a gun is a gun and it kills. those weapons have killed and continue killing. they cut teachers fingers for teaching because they declare no school, kidnap children because they wish to study, destroy roads and infrastructures because they don't want communities to leave their villages, behead retired soldiers or captures soldiers or even bury them alive do you think the military would have any pity for such people who behave like barbarians. I can show display horrible pictures of what this people do. the population has now turned against them and are showing their hideouts to the military. If they were doing such good as people say why do civilians betray them. Kidnapping has become a national sports in the anglophone regions because of them. Though i blame the government for allowing this issue get to this level but this guys have done enough damage.

Posting this here in the hope that a rational discussion can ensue. Personally, I'm uneasy with what I regard as Eeben Barlow's straying onto Nigeria's political affairs which are the exclusive preserve of Nigerian citizens, but I fully concur with the practical military argument he espouses.
Thoughts, everyone?
THE ONGOING CONFLICT IN NORTH-EASTERN NIGERIA

The recent spate of Boko Haram attacks in northeastern Nigeria have negated President Buhari’s claims when he assumed power in 2015 that the radical Islamist group (many being thugs who have hijacked the religion of Islam for their own purposes) had been ‘technically defeated’. His narrative that Boko Haram was ‘technically defeated’ was false as soon as he uttered those words.
There is, in a purely military sense, no such thing as a ‘technical defeat’—something the President, as an ex-military man ought to know. Sadly, he also chose to make the successes of 7 Infantry Division and 72 Mobile Strike Force (MSF) his own, when it wasn’t.
President Buhari and his team were, however, part of the political leader group that led the vocal charge about STTEP’s presence in Nigeria, making it a burning political issue even before they assumed office. Indeed, they made it known that the company’s presence would not be tolerated under his office.
The initial 3-phase campaign strategy (known as ‘Operational Anvil’) to degrade and destroy BH in Borno State, was rejected by his advisors. Instead, pressure forced only a small part of the campaign to be successfully implemented before we were ordered to pack up and leave.
They were, however, quite happy to allow the armed forces to receive both substandard training and the incorrect equipment provided by both foreign governments and their PMCs—along with the worst possible ‘military advice’. When this approach failed, the military could be blamed for any lack of success.
Whereas it remains a government’s prerogative to ‘hire-and-fire’ who they so wish, it is sad that the President preferred defeat above victory, as soldiers can only do what they are trained, equipped, and led to do.
Do it poorly, and they die—and the innocent and defenceless suffer.
Many of the men we trained as part of 72 Mobile Strike Force have remained in contact with us (STTEP), pleading for our return to Nigeria. They have also told us that they have been used to a point of exhaustion. But, rumours also bubble beneath the surface that President Buhari viewed Boko Haram as an instrument that could reduce the force and standing of the military and thereby protect him from a possible coup d’état.
Over the past few weeks, Boko Haram have executed numerous attacks on the Nigerian Army, causing numerous casualties and capturing massive amounts of equipment and ammunition. Raids on villages and the slaughter and kidnapping of the innocent and defenceless has continued—and in some instances intensified—under the reign of the President Buhari’s government. Sadly, the government has yet to issue a statement informing its citizens of what is really happening—and how a ‘technically defeated’ enemy can be so effective.
As Boko Haram’s activities and actions increased, so too did the silence about the increasing problems in Nigeria’s Borno State. Prior to, and following our departure from Nigeria, we issued numerous intelligence warnings to his government. These warnings covered the implications of not allowing the 72 MSF to annihilate BH in Borno province; the plans by Boko Haram to rearm and escalate their activities; the implications of regional spill-over, the impact on the armed forces; and so forth. These intelligence warnings were all rejected in favour of a false belief. Neighbouring countries were advised not to listen to us as it was claimed to be a cheap attempt to ‘get a contract’. Chad, Cameroon and Niger are now also reaping the benefits of rejecting intelligence in favour of an agenda-driven narrative aimed at destabilising an entire region—a region where Nigeria remains a prime target.
The reality is that these forces can be defeated. But victory requires more than a few soundbytes. Soundbytes do not—and never have—resulted in victory over an enemy.
Ultimately, the innocent suffer and soldiers die, and every tactical victory Boko Haram achieves merely incentivises them to continue. This also gives impetus to the plans and actions of other radical terror groups across the continent.
North-eastern Nigeria is an example of what can happen when intelligence is rejected in favour of a false narrative.
Don’t blame the armed forces when poor political decisions result in the deaths of people.

My criticisms are intended to be critical. I have one major handicap which is my background is essentially British military nonetheless , I did spend time with a lot of Nigerian officers in Nigeria amongst other experiences.

The first picture is a Grizzly APC 6X6 not an IFV it is based on the Mowag Piranha first introduced by the Canadian armed forces in the late 1970's and then as part of their contribution to the UN peace effort in Sudan literally dashed to Nigeria, we may have purchased some as surplus stock from the Swiss or other European users. Theses vehicles are in the region of 35 years old I believe oil rich Nigeria can do much much better than that. On this forum may not be wise to discuss the efficacy of its armour, all I will say if you ever come across direct HMG Fire 50cal. + jump off and leave the vehicle. Furthermore this ancient vehicle has no precision offensive weaponry or FLIR. It is certainly not an IFV to be used in forward assaults. How much is it worth mainly as scrap metal about $2000 if that.

This shows the value our political leaders and top brass place on our gallant soldiers, this is in my opinion is wilful neglect, dereliction of duty and borders on TREASON

And who cares if you stay or leave.

Allexpensive scenario was totally defferent, he was on patrol or clearance op's if am right. He was not defending or protecting any ground.

According to what he said they did therr best in suppressing the enemy attack before running out of ammunition and retrieved.

Defending your base where there are ammunition dumps/cache is a defferent ball game , these insurgents will attack you in all directions. The numbers of insurgents who normally carry out ambush mission are usually few when compared to a full invasion on bases where they know that they cart away with ammunition, I av been in such scenarios twice on recovering damaged APCS.

Am in full support that our training and doctrine as to be changed but first thing first; we av to do away with obsolete equipment, boost troops morale while these changes are gaining on.

He should have made his remarks without dwelling much on government. The unit they trained could be able to offer insights on what they do so well that others weren't. But I understand the part of the units claiming overuse and similar extending to our SF units. Postulation about BH as a cannon fodder to prevent a coup will now haunt him and I think there'll be recalcitrance from Nigeria to consult nor to talk of training unless there's a change of government.

Supposing the Vid is true and not ducted in any way by unscrupulous individuals bent on exploiting the current debacle for political purposes , what sort of weapons could Bokoharam have employed in shattering those tanks and heavy equipment so utterly? I mean, i am aware of a number of weapon types capable of doing so but the soldiers in the vid seem surprised, the implication being that they felt the fault lays with the condition of the Nigerians tanks and APC's not Bokoharam weapons.

this is the vid:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBLIaKPe5fY

the vid though strikes me as lies of some sorts...

This is the price Nigerians will pay for corruption, incompetence, hypocrisy, self-deceit, man-know-man, tribalism, religious hate, refusal to heed good advise, dishonesty, arrogant pride, and all round stupidity mixed with lack of patriortism-love of fatherland nation.

Last year 2017 December I SupremeCourt, a friend of young new breed NAF boys in Abuja and a simple Nigerian that decided to speak the truth, I spoke here that Nigeria should quickly 2018 January order at least 50 new T-90 MS tanks as a first batch of 100 T-90MS at cheap cost of only $250 million out of that $1 billion new money specially allocated for war on Boko Bastards in Borno/NE, but one CaptainStephens claimed to be inside a NA T-72 tanks that is good enough for Nigeria in 2018, he ordered me to shut up as our T-72 are not falling apart when I said the ERA blocks are vanishing away and exposing NA T-72 to RGP heat from Boko HARAM.

Like six Nairaland mafia supported him and asked me to shut up for personal reasons and they suppressed the truth I was sayin.

The few good guys here also kept quiet, they felt its not worth supporting a lone SupremeCourt aginst the crowd of Nairaland Mafia guys that lined up behind the so called T-72 Captain Stephens that is posting on Nairaland from inside of of the GREAT T-72 Tanks of Nigeria master of the universe. A big lie will look like the truth if honest men keep quiet.

So I did not stop, I warned that Boko HARAM will go back and plan new tactics to defeat our T-72 and if Boko can get atgm antitank missiles they will blow all Nigerian T-72 in that soft part exposed with no ERA and T-72 of Nigeria will cook off blowing itself into pieces and killing hundreds of Nigerian soldiers and defeat Nigerian army in many local battles.

Still the fake patriots of Nigeria all kept attacking me saying I should shut up and let professionals speak like Captain Stephens who owns a T-72 tank for Nigeria. I told him, how are you Captain Stephens is a true soldier as you claim, and I am a court staff civilian in Abuja telling you what young NAF boys are saying that T-72 is an obsolete 1970 tech and 1980 upgrade not good for Nigeria in 2018 and that for sure Boko HARAM has seen our best weapon so they will surely come back in 2018 to find solutions with antitank to destroy NA T-72. All I said in 2017 has happened now in 2018 just as I predicted.

Some South African guys also joined the Nairalanders calling for more T-72 to be bought by Nigeria, they said I must shut my mouth because all Nigeria needs is T-72 not T-90MS that can give us full victory with a weapon Boko HARAM has no solution to defeat. Now where is Captain Stephens the T-72 professional soldier? All those who supported him are also here now seeing the destruction of NA T-72 and deaths of 120 Nigerian troops with 180 wounded or missing in a shameful defeat by Boko HARAMS.

I said it about 10 months ago, NA use little part of your new $1 billion to get 50 T-90MS as first batch of 100, send 500 tank troops to Russia for standard first class training on tactics of tank warfare against terrorist or conventional enemies, do all types of training and come back to finish off Boko HARAM even if Boko H get antitank missiles from Libya or Iraq, Nigeria will still win this war. Even if foot soldiers fumble, even if NAF does not give air support, even if foot soldiers are poorly trained, even if commanders are substandard, a Russia trained special T-90 MS force will guarantee one such tank at every military base in NE zone and Nigeria will never lose a battle, and our troops who are fathers, sons, brothers, husbands will not be wasted like chickens in avoidable deaths that happened at METELE some days ago.

Today, the price a nation pays for hypocrisy, I told you all, that the truth I spoke in december 2017 will come back to haunt all those playing hypocrisy above patriotism, and I am today 100% proved correct. The souls of the 120 men that died in METELE widowing wives and making children fatherless and old parents bury their 120 sons, their souls and blood will ask question from every Nigerian from streets where common men live to Abuja mansions where elites that ruin Nigeria with corruption are living, getting billions of dollars and buying second hand 1970-1980 tech weapons for Nigeria's defence, causing all these calamities of weeping and gnashing of teeth in 120 homes of the dead where families are rolling on the floor now in lamentation.

T-72 tanks are obsolete, you heard the video soldiers spoke what I said.

NA T-72 are second or even third hand old, unreliable, you heard the soldiers say it in video, as I said.

T-72 shoots accurate to 1 km, Vicker Tank is even worse, check the Nairaland video of Buratai upgraded Vickers the commander said its acccurate to half a kilometre, ½ km and worse than T-72.

The METELE report says Boko H force was shooting at our own army base with 3 anti aircraft guns from long range far away, as usual 3 km, so its beyond reach of all the weapons in Nigerian army today.

By the time Boko Bastards started from 3km away, no way T-72 can be accurate to reply, talk less of Vicker Tanks of shorter range below T-72.

T-90MS with antimissile and all ammos safe under the special case that cannot cookoff, has gun accurate 4 km and could have demolished all those Boko with just one T-90MS from the 3km.

The Metele NA spy told the camp commander he saw Bokos coming from many kilometeres away, and the commander told his boys to be ready to fight for life.

If we had T-90MS we would have killed all those Bokos from 4km away before they can fire longer range anti aircraft on our Naija boys.

T-90MS night vision can clearly identify targets 5 km away.

T-90 MS gun can fire wide area fragment spreading explosives to incoming convoy of those 12 Boko H trucks from 8km far away in wide zone firing.

T-90MS computerized high speed cannon kills 6 fast moving targets per minute, half the Boko force of 12 that is reported by troops would have died from 4km away with our Russian trained modern crew that has the highest standard training from Russia specializing on T-90MS effective usage.

The Boko HARAM anti aircraft 3 trucks will die first, another 3 follow, all 4km away the rmaining 6 Boko trucks will die 1 km from our NA Base while all our troops are in holes and behind cover protected in hiding from any Boko fire, ready alert in case the enemy enters the base, but the T-90 crew well trained will not allow the enemy. Its simple common sense.

As T-90 shooter uses the big cannon, his boss uses computerized machine gun from inside the T-72 to spray all the front-side and prevent any Boko H vehicle form sneaking to go near our base.

T-72 machine gun user needs to come out with his head to use it, and such risky act led to the death of hero late Lt.Colonel Abu Ali who was shot in the head 2016 or so. If he had T-90MS he will use all weapons from inside tank armour with remote control and the radio is advanced so he can give order to other troops outside, and the night vision of T-90MS is long range with 4 cameras all 360 degree view to command from under armour.

In fast moving combat arena of terrorists, T-90MS has speed of 70 km/hr to maneuver fast and furious.

When simple common sense is spoken on Nairaland, you see people who hate you call in nonsense, and crowds of haters who love their ego above their fatherland will follow to like their post just to overwhelm your own common sense comment. I dont waste my time in such places of hypocrisy, reason why I left this Nairaland to do better things with my time.

See the videos of METELE, I told you in 2017 Nigerian T-72 Tanks will be blown to pieces in 2018 because Boko HARAM is not a fool, he will find solution to our best weapon, so we must up our game to next level to maintain superior technology and training above the enemy of Nigeria.

See the videos of METELE, Nigerian T-72 head has cooke doff and blown away from the tank. Nobody set the tanks on fire, or else how did the head and heavy gun blow away and all the chain wheels are totally demolished and crushed like ordinary can of coke?

It is the Boko HARAM antitank I said will come 2018, so we must use common sense and step up our game with T-90 MS and stop using same NDA tank training, we should send 1,000 operational and maintenance crew to Russia to master how to use T-90MS same way Russia is trained to use it against America, so we avoid all the incompetence and complaints of lack of training, lack of tactics, lack of discipline by creating a special 1,000 men 100 Tanks T-90MS force specially created to guarantee total victory and safety to Nigerian people anytime any day even against Chad or Cameroon.

By now if my advise was taken, 100 T-90MS with 1,000 tank crews Russia trained to best world standards including modern base defence training, they will be spread at each NA base and what happened to shame us in METELE and kill us like chicken in large numbers will not happen.

Troop training is good, yes we know, troop discipline is good yes we know, but tell FG and NA to make sure obsolete equipment or too few numbers of modern equipment is not part of the loophole that enemies like BOKO BASTARD will use to disgrace and kill us Nigerians like Sallah rams.

I have said the day BokoHARAM finds antitank solution to our T-72, plenty tears and blood will flow like river Niger in Nigeria. You see am now?

I dont like politics, but let me tell you what I see in Abuja, Nigeria's problem is not the presidents of today or yesterday, Nigerias problem is the 500 advisers, ministers, and senators that hold any president to ransom with wrong advise, selfish advise, bad advise, incompetent advise, corrupt advise, tribalistic advise, self egoistic advise, wrong advise that is destroying the whole of Nigeria with hunger, poverty, cheating, injustice, selfishness, greed, lawlessness, lack of patriotism and failure everywhere you go in Nigeria.

This is the price a nation pays when we dont love our country above our pocket, our greed, our ego, our tribe, our selfishness, our arrogant pride.

Before you say I am not seeing the whole picture, let me admit to you my friend, that I know that Nigeria's problem is complex, but lets solve the aspects we can solve, stop collecting billions of dollars for defence and then buying second hand obsolete weapons in small numbers, looting most of the money into PDP APC APGA and elite big man's private pockets, this is a crime, we should put the doers in life jail and collect back out stolen money to feed Nigeria, equip our military with modern weapons.

Nigerian army generals too have a big fault, we gave you budget of $15 billion cash from 2010-2015 to share with NAF and NN. So how did your troops end up with only 47 obsolete second hand T-72 tanks that have now failed you in battle? How did you refuse to re-train all Nigerian army manpower in batches for unconventional warfare and good base defence tactics since 2010 that Boko HARAM slowly started in the days of Governor Ali Modu Sheriff? Why have you still refused to comply with all the noises in news media asking you to publish details of how the extra 2017 cash of $1 billion will be spent since one year ago? How did you spend it with all other special special extra extra budgets for Borno war and yet METELE troops reported their ammunition was finished in 40 minutes of combat while Boko HARAM had enough ammo to keep killing us? Do you count bullets for each army base like small small groundnut to manage and die?

I said second hand tank is bad, the video soldiers that use the T-72 said after firing twice the tanks gun now jam, then Boko HARAM comes close to fire rpg heat to blow NA T-72. That is tokunbo problem for you, those 1980 tanks have been used tired for training in Europe, then sold third hand to Nigeria, now the thing is malfunctioning after 4 years in Borno. I told you in 2017 that this will happen in 2018, go buy T-90MS to avoid more Nigerians die like goat oooo!!!!

Egypt is building T-90 maintenance centre here in Africa so they can buy new T-90 for Egyptian army soon, we can use it or build our own service centre in Jos near 3rd armoured division. Algeria saw same terrorism and bought 500 brand new T-90 tanks, but Nigeria in same problem bought 47 second hand obsolete T-72 tanks, how are Nigerian army generals still innocent?

Those 100 T-90 would have replaced our 47 obsolete T-72 withdrawn for due total mechanical overhaul due after using a third hand machine for 4 years non stop in NE rugged area. Only brand new equipment can continue to perform for 4 years without withdrawing to workshop for periodic mechanical overhaul.

Train all NA troops for unconventional war during rotation holidays, a powerful T-90 force of 100 tanks will fill in the gap while we retrain the whole 30,000 NE troops in batches of 1,000 troops at a time during off duty time after 12 months in frontline duty. Like that, an Israeli or Eben PMC will transform the whole Nigerian Army into anti-unconventional war force in addition to our original conventional war training at NDA.

Added, the 100 T-90MS will also make Chad's powerful 30,000 anti-insurgency expert army to stop messing Nigeria up, when they see 100 T-90 tanks driven by 1,000 Russia trained Nigerians, Chad and her supporter Cameroon that has another 30,000 troops to intimidate Nigeria with a dangerous 60,000 'Francophone Allied Forces' will all behave better.

Also improve our NA intelligence and spy units, plus modern surveillance equipment to see Boko HARAM from 20km away at night or day, put one in all bases, every base of Nigerian Army must have such long distance enemy detection technology active 24/7.

I pray for the dead 120 soldiers, rest in peace, its sad you died, but you have escaped the mess that all Nigerians have joined hands and contributed one way or the other to turn this blessed nation into while our former British colonial masters are laughing at our 58 Years of independence.

May God heal all the self-inflicted wounds of Nigeria, Amen.

krattoss:
where was the swat team and anti terror squad prior to 9/11 attack? undecided
Where was mi6 prior to Boston Train bombing?
Where are all the USA, Russia army, if isis controls territories in Syria.?
If u can answer these, I promise to leak to u where our airforce were during the matele raid massacre.

Scene 1: First responders were readily available at the scene of the terror attacks on 9/11. From NYPD to New York Fire Department to Medics. A number of them braved the damage to rescue people trapped and clear the streets. Unfortunately they could not rescue thousands trapped up in both towers, and the structural integrity of both towers were already long compromised.

Case 2: Boston is in the UNITED STATE; MI6 is the foreign Intelligence Service of the UNITED KINGDOM. That said, when the bombing occurred both the Boston City Police Department and the FBI swung into action hunting for the perpetrators of that dastard act. BOTH were captured. I suggest you watch PATRIOTS DAY.

Case 3: Syria: The country is quite large and was already a big mess. The Syrian Army and Republican Guards were already fully stretched fighting on MULTPLE fronts. In comes the Russians with their Air+Naval power, plus Spetznaz, and other advisors, and they've already turned the tide of the war in favour of the Syrian Govt. Hell, Assad (with the help of the Russians) defeated ISIS decisively and has almost won the war. The Americans on the other hand are no more than 4-5000 Special Forces troops + Marines restricted to a given location in the Kurdish North. You expect them to respond to ISIS attacks (if any) across Syria when they have bigger issues that Turkey kicking the a$$es of their allies the Kurds?

Oya, leak the whereabouts of our Air force when 100 or our soldiers where murdered. Where the hell was CAS when it was desperately needed? If you can't answer that then I suggest you stop supporting what's wrong and demand better from the FG and the Ministry of Defence for the sake of our troops, their loved ones, and the nation at large. Our military deserves BETTER.
