I still hate this idea of military leaders always sitting on a living room sofa in every setting, they couldn't get something more appropriate, ugh

I knew right from day 1 that boko don't hv the technical know-how atleast for now to operate any equipment to bring down an aircraft in full combat mission.

These Cameroonian BIR forces field all calibre of Assault Rifles the arms industry can offer. Could there be a catch to this?

Not sure, from my superficial look they seem to be all Isreali sourced assault rifles.

These helicopter Gunships have proven to be a game changer, just like when T72 tanks arrived in 2014 (I guess Boko boys adapted to those eventually) we need another 30 Mi35M for NAF

The arrival of those used old T72 tanks was not necessarily a game changer but a reflection of shockingly poorly equipped the NA was.

Then consider how many we bought, not more than 30 can't be certain could even be less. They didn't even have a modern target acquisition system, Fire control or FLIR. But they did the job

Yes they were massively over priced, $300k a unit or more. Tanks that are being donated by former Eastern block countries to friendly allies for nothing. Otherwise you can pick them up wholesale for $30k per unit. It's absurd how much do we procure a Toyota pick up for probably $45k or more.

The NA procurement of " Tokunboh" T72 should not be less than 300, that would be them change the dynamics entirely on the ground.

We need an attack helo with coaxial rotors because of the vulnerability of the tail rotor to AA gun. In the recent photoset released by ISWAP, you could actually see them aiming up their AA gun fire, presumably, against NAF's helicopter. And that is not their first time of shooting at NAF platforms with AA guns.

I had no idea though that KA-52 is giving the Egyptian some challenges.

Maybe, we should just hope that the Super Tucano gets delivered before the scheduled delivery date just like it happened in Afghanistan. That would solve a lot of problems.

Absolute waste of money.

That's true the Egyptian airforce are still struggling with it the KA-52, in fact instead ordering more of KA-52 they went for more of AH-64 Apache early Nov last year.

I think the problem is not with the attack helicopter itself , it's the limited technical know-how of the EA. They still have to train and master these hardware it's new in there inventory. Even the western/European hardware comes with there problems and little setbacks. These same KA-52 is giving ISIS a bloody nose and tough time in syria, the question is how come the Egyptians are finding it difficult to operate

It's my own opinion, I might be wrong sad

The Mi-28, Mi-35m and Ka-52 are the most capable platforms in the Russian military for targeting and conducting self-generated precision attacks, whether ATGMs, cannon or rockets. Both also use the 80mm rockets as their main weapons, but unlike so many other Russian aircraft, they have modern targeting systems to find and destroy targets with greater accuracy than any Russian platform before them. Utilizing the OPS-28 Tor targeting turret with TV and FLIR capability (future airframes will carry the mast mounted NO25 radar similar to the American AH-64 Apache), the Mi-28 first saw combat outside Palmyra and have been seen operating in pairs.

The Ka-52, with its counter-rotating coaxial rotor blades, is the only attack helicopter to have ejection seats, which fire after the rotor blades have been detached by explosive charges installed in the blade fastenings. For targeting the Ka-52 carries a nose mounted FH01 Myech-1U radar along with the GOES-451.2 TV/FLIR system combined with laser targeting and designation. These advanced systems of the Ka-52 were recently used to help Syrian forces liberate Palmyra, which the Syrian government had to abandon in December 2016 to ISIS. Working with Russian Air Force Su-25 Frogfoots, the KA-52s provided targeting for the ground attack aircraft, allowing for round the clock attacks on ISIS positions.

Left for me I would prefer the T129 ATAK grin

This is a FAR MORE EFFECTIVE patform than the over crazily over priced and over hyped Tucano.

These flying tanks are actually cheaper to run and available immediately for peanuts used from the plethora of former and existing Eastern block countries.

Get the them upgraded with FLIR, etc and your good to go. You could procure 24 multiple sources not more than $6 million per unit a lot cheaper depending on your ability to negotiate and bargain as well as bribe unfortunately. You are dealing with corrupt eastern Europe remember.

On paper all these machines are cheaper to procure but in real life getting the spares and cost of maintenance is something else, go ask the Egyptians how far they have to put up with maintenance most especially their coaxial helicopters from Russia.
The major problem with Russian machines is the maintenance wahala, American and Italian machines are very expensive to procure but in the long they're very durable and they sell their equipments most atimes with add-ons like after sale support and will train your technicians/engineers for maintenance in the long run. But machines from Eastern Europe lack this after sale service, esp the Russians if their machine breakdown be ready to use their own technicians or ship the equipment to their plant. That's how most of their companies stay afloat.
Majority of the battle tank T-72 acquired during the last administration have packed up due to one technical fault or the other which we don't have the expertise on, that's why you see in videos many thanks destroyed by bokoharam it is not that the terrorists have that tactical ingenuity to takeout battle tanks, the reason is most of them are non-serviceable, when soldiers tactically retreat they leave those machines behind for boko to just light matches on them . The military top brass are not that dumb to overlook some of this eye-catching deals, as people will say na the terms and conditions behind the deal na him be the Koko.

This thread is Opened to officially draw the attention of the Inspector General of Police and the DSS to impending murder and immidiately take action and perform their constitutional duty before more persons are killed.

In this Video MC Oluomo the Agbero in Chief of Lagos telling his opponents to get more guns because his own gang are ready for the 2019 elections.

If the IGP and The DSS is not partisan as they claim the Man must be prosecuted with immidiate effect
