SENATE PRESIDENCY: WHO THE CAP FITS?

Life can be so interesting when it`s ups and downs work for some elements and mar the others.
Ordinarily, politics should transcend who gets what, when and how. The surprise emergence of the ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS (APC) and its breakthroughs at all levels leave the most cynics of the party a shock.
In all, the major factor that helped APC is God`s intervention and yearnings of his people: Nigerians. That is not to say that their victory will not come with its attendant challenges, far from it, challenges will definitely come. However, with the high calibre of people like Buhari, Yemi Osinbajo, Tinubu, Senator Boroffice, Rotimi Amaechi, Okorocha, Senator Bukola Saraki, Onu, John Odigie – Oyegun, Senator Danjuma Goje and a host of others, Nigeria will get out of the woods.
The Holy Books say that, God has spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs to God. And He gives power to whoever He wants.
In the light of the above allusion, God has been so faithful to APC, and therefore caution and decorum must be chiefly observed in order to avoid the collapse of this united family.
The race for the Senate Presidency should not result to a name – calling, pulverization, subterfuge and abysmal denigration of the hard – earned profile of Senator Bukola Saraki.
It is quite uncalled for to assume that the EFCC investigations into anybody`s financial status can be likened to an outright incrimination, debasement and harassment of such a person. It is totally wrong for anyone to concur that Senator Bukola Saraki is corrupt, even when such an allegation has not been established by a court of competent jurisdiction. It is out of place for a paid agent to rubbish a distinguished Senator who fought side by side with other progressives to actualize the victory we are celebrating today.
Let it be told to the religious – divisionistsamong us that we are one people created by one GOD. Using ethnicity and religion to pursue positions does not have a place in our constitution and the promoters of hate, acrimony, discord and disharmony should desist before nemesis catch up with them.
Borrowed from the numerous assertions of his Excellency Muhammadu Buhari, that our collective willshall be put to test very soon. Enough is enough of the religious bigots who always hide under the canopy of their religion to fan the flames of discord among us!
We acknowledge the effort of Senator George Akume and Senator Barnabas Gemade before, during and after the elections to free Nigeria from the shackles of oppression, suppression and intimidation with the highest level of impunity by the PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP) for sixteen years.
During the reign of Jonathan, Christian from the south – south, Senator David Mark, Christian from Benue as Senator George Akume serve as the Senate President, and heaven did not fall. Why now?
Wisdom demands that Senator Bukola Saraki should be given our utmost support to serve rather than denigrating his personality. He is “cultured, well – mannered, developmental, productive, democratic, tolerant, progressive and liberal”to the core.
Our appeal goes to everyone that has one thing or the other to do with the incoming 8th senate to consider the candidature of Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate President for equality and justice. With him in the saddle, developmental legislation, prompt over sight functions of the legislators would not be relegated to a mere jamboree.
With our “collective will”, Nigeria will be great again.
Salute to the indefatigable Senators: Asiwaju Ajayi Boroffice, Adamu Aliyu, and Tayo Alasoadura, just to mention a few.
In the light of the above - mentioned observations, our group,AGENT OF CHANGE (AOC) implores all and sundry to support peace, progress and prosperity of our beloved Nation rather than separatism and unnecessary jingoism that would not take us far as a people. LET THERE BE NO DISPARITY OF ANY KIND! GOD BLESS the 8TH SENATE, GOD BLESS APC, And GOD BLESS THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA!
