Gej allies accuse people of conspiracy and his wife but they don't talk about the currupt government he lead. These shows both him and everyone in his government see stealing is not corruption.

Exactly ! What are these people saying ??

That if patience were president she should have rigged and schemed her way back to power Really, at what cost ?

Is there anything wrong in GEJ giving Nigeria free and fair elections ?

I guess these people hoped what happened in Rivers would happen nationwide but that era is ended now with the advent card readers and voter accreditation.

So GEJ should be blamed for allowing such ?

Its because most of his supporters reason this way, he lost out.

Well Sweetguy... Get over dis election loss trauma...Will u continue like this till 2019. The reality is election has come and gone, Buhari won and GEJ lose. There are lot of factors DAT contributed to his losing in d election and believe me His wife is a major factor among d reason. I commend GEJ for taking d decision of d main path of peace and Dat has landed him lot of honour... Because He was bn deceived, Assuming what He did in d 6 weeks before election, He has bn doing let's say a year... He will av won peoples heart but He refuse to see reality until DAT 6 weeks.. Regarding d issue of SS & SE. its normal thing DAT should apn and DAT will continue in Nigeria politics... He is our son, He is our own attitude... So Let's just pray Nigeria and our lives will be better and May God assist dis incoming government in doing so.

WHY GEJ LOST (Summary) :

1. Record level of Corruption with impunity

2. Boko Haram and Scandalous attempt made by NA to tackle it.

3. Unresolved Chibok girls saga.

4. Inability to call some cabinet members tarnishing his administrations image to Order.

5. Economic downturn due to No. 1

6. Clannish attitude in making political appointments, while ignoring federal character.

7. Inability to restrict official and unofficial powers of the first lady.

8. Polarising the country along religious/ethnic lines.

9. Embarking on 'attack dog' political tactics against past presidents before and during his campaign.

10. Lies, lies and more lies from people in his support base aka sycophants.

GEJ was content with being a 'regional' president, rather than being the Nigerian president he was elected to be and these people were cheering him on, instead of cautioning him.

THE END.

Time to move on..

GEj and PDP did not try to STOP patience because they thought her CRUDE tactics will help win the village/grassroot people.

Fortunately, it backfired big time especially because of her statements against the North. She called them Born throway. . they didn't cause violence or anything, they just went to VOTE THE PDP OUT!! cool cool cool cool

Are you trying to say that votes Buhari received were due to patriotic reasons or from patriotic Nigerians?
Are you also trying to say that there were no irregularities in voting processes in areas where Buhari won massively?
Are you also telling me that if GEJ(as an incumbent) wanted to massively rig the elections to his favour, it wouldn't have been possible?

With card readers and voter accreditation, it is no longer possible for "Massive" rigging.

If GEJ wanted that, he should have banned the use of card readers and no one would know the true total number of accredited voters.

Jonathan lost because he was weak. Patience wouldn't even lose an election against Buhari if she was president.

GEJ messed up big time. He wanted to give free and fair elections to Nigerians and this is where it landed him.

You prefer a massively rigged election?

So he wasn't supposed to conduct a free and fair elections in the bid to remain in power ?

Bitter truth is if he had tried, he would have died or gone missing , The world keeps accusing the FBI and CIA for predicting and probably Orchestrating Nigeria's division this year , They would have done something to prevent GEJ from remaining in power .

Accept it or not , Defeat tastes bitter

The main downfall of GEJ is not MAMA PEACE but the international community who are angry that GEJ refused to sign "gay-marriage" into Nigerian law.

I almost stopped reading the article after this statement. "On the international level, the passage of the anti-gay legislation led to criticisms and face-off with the US, and the West." What is this Osom Makbere smoking? Does he think the west believe Buhari will be less inclined to pass the anti-gay bill or work to repeal it?

This statement took the cake. "The migration to Russia for arms and ammunition to quelling the insurgency also signalled to the West that Jonathan had started constituting a self-reliant and dependent nation-state, a feat seen too tall by the US and their allies in the West." These people cannot even get chronology of events straight. For your information Osom Makbere US stopped the sales of ammunition before Jonathan looked east. When people like you are in position of authority in any organization, the bottom is very close. No wonder the election was lost. People like you that cannot do simple deductive reasoning or analysis are part of the reason.

The problem of PDP is multifaceted. madam peace is just one reason, the monstrous corruption is the major reason.

Fani kayode also played a good role in the defeat of PDP. He attacked Buhari so much that people began to develop interest in the Buhari's candidacy. Another person whose frequent attacks on Buhari in Daily Vanguard was a blessing to the APC, is femi aribisala, Fayose etc. All of these are culpable including non performance.

The West had no hand in Jonathan's fall. So scratch off those from your list. As for Patience Jonathan she bears 10% of the blame. The other 90% why Jonathan failed are as follows:
Boko Haram mess (Chibok girls, 10,000 Nigerians killed) - 20% , Condoning corruption - 20% , Pardoning corrupt persons - 5% , Allowing massive decamping of PDP members - 10% , Negative campaigning against Buhari - 10% , Camapaigning along Ethnic and Religious line - 10% , Performance in Office (He actually did well, but couldnt sell himself) - 5% , Image (as a weakling, clueless and non-chalant) - 10

Jonathan losing the elections doesn't make the provision of free and fair elections a weak or clueless move. One gotta follow the textbook tenets of democracy for it to grow.

When people talk like this I cringe. What sort of twisted and mentally deranged human being will call "giving free and fair elections" a "weakness". Free and fair election is the right of every citizen. Jonathan lost based on his incompetence and cluelessness. Period!

Hypocrisy again. There were also a multitude of Nigerians who believed that GEJ was good president.
It is blatant hypocrisy to attribute that the votes Buhari received were due to the non performance of GEJ or patriotism from voters and attribute the votes GEJ received to be from tribal sentiments or voters.

Asari had his opinion, many other Nigerians believed GEJ was a good president and wanted him to continue.

Who is more patriotic between someone who says that the president is not performing but should remain as president (because he's his kinsman) and someone who says the president should leave whether he was performing or not (because he want to his kinsman)?

It is also hypocrisy on your to not acknowledge the high incidences of under aged voting and other irregularities in the north.

Hypocrisy again. Since the election ended, opposition party members have failed to acknowledge the patriotic and selfless efforts of the president towards ensuring that our nascent democracy is protected and nurtured. This has been his position ever since he ascended the seat and he has kept his stance.

You and your other APC goons are hypocrites. That's all.
Bros all this U̶̲̥̅̊я grammar projects more of emotion and less of logic. U fEel U̶̲̥̅̊я candidate lost cos of some grand conspiracy. Nigeria isn't about GEJ or buhari. It isn't about PDP or APC. Its about nigerians coming inTo d fulness of their democratic and political responsibilities. GEJ contested and lost and that shouldn't b blamed on his wife or anyone but himself. He has accepted defeat like a gentleman so let's move and not mourn more than d bereaved

Last I checked, Jonathan signed the "gay marriage" bill into law. Pls check ur facts before commenting.

I believe what you mean is Jonathan was antigay. The gay marriage bill sought to punish people not only for being gay, but for evening knowing someone gay without reporting it.

The bill was unnecessary because nigerian law already punishes homosexuality (See the criminal and penal codes respectively). What simply happened was that Jonathan needed something to deflect public outcry against his govt cluelessness, greed and impunity. And once again the gays seemed an easy target.
