When you own and operate a company overseas (Nigeria or anywhere else), you may open a branch of the same company in the U.S which would qualify your company's owner or employee for the L1 visa also known as "New Office Visa". The visa allows owners/ managers / employees to relocate to the U.S to run the branch company.

Your company qualifies if:
1. It has been registered with CAC for 3 years or more
2. It currently has 4 or more employees

Other requirements:
i. (L-1A) Owners of the company must own at least 50% of the company to qualify. Owners/Managers will get a 7 year visa, and may apply for permanent residency (aka green card) After the first year.

ii. (L-1B) Employees must prove they have been working for the company for at least 1 year in the past 3 years. Employees will get a 5 year visa and MAY NOT apply for permanent residency. At the end of the 5 year the employee will have to return to Nigeria except if they apply / get another residence status.

iii. During the first year, the "New" U.S company will have to be running and employ at least 4 to 7 employees.

We will help you with:
a. Business registration
b. city, county and state licenses
c. initial business set up / securing a business location (brick and mortar)
d. Tax Payer Identification Number
e. Employment Identification Number
f. U.S bank account for the company
g. U.S Company business plan, financial projections, etc
h. accountant & U.S. immigration attorney

Below are additional Notes for the L-1:

2. Your spouse can apply for a work permit and engage in employment. Spouse is allowed to work or start his or her own business.
3. Children may attend school, they do not need an F1 visa.
4. Business can be any type, products or services, big or small scale. (LLC or non profits like church or any organization).
5. No educational requirements are necessary.
6. You may legitimately come to the USA at the same time lawfully seek to become a permanent resident.... (and apply for citizenship after 5 years)
7. No Minimum investment amount is required.
8. You must have a similar business or Non profit organization overseas to qualify for this visa.
9. You can travel freely in and out of the USA while on this visa
10. Normal petition takes 4-6months while premium petition takes 2-4weeks.
