PML Securities Limited, one of the companies allegedly used by the convicts to launder the funds, was ordered to fold up and forfeit all its assets to the federal government.

Why are we paying the money to the federal govt if the money belong to Edo state? This is confusing, anyway
Oshiomhole is next.

A man launders N25 billion, sentenced to 6 years with option of N3 million fine. Hmmmm I beat my chest and declare that nothing like jail for these people. They would rather pay the option of fine and walk free in street and get police protection with the people's money. If it were a common thief that steals a mobile phone, the court will send him to 47 years in jail without option of fine. What a country!!!!

Someone stole N25b, was found guilty by the court and the best judgement available was to pay a paltry N3m to avoid imprisonment.

http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/04/30/money-laundering-igbinedion-gets-6-year-jail-term/

Nonsense headline.

The real sentence is a N3m or 2 years in jail.

We all know how it would end.

Only God knows the interest alone one would get from laundering N25bn. Maybe it would be 3m a day going into his pockets.

Even an average Nigerian can pay the fine for him, so there has been no justice.

He has effectively gotten a slap on the wrist and this is another case of impunity to corruption under Jonathan's government.
Re: Igbinedion Gets 6-year Jail Term Over Money Laundering by nelandrewz(m): 5:48pm On Apr 30, 2015
He stole or laundered 25bn naira and was sentenced 4 6yrs concurrently (dat is 2yrs) or a fine of 3m naira. Naija judges self. This is a light sentence. No wonder politifcians are not scared of looting. We need serious judicial reform.
