Lets wait till the CL finals before we brag about which league is best and which ain't. We can safely say EPL is best for last season. Afterall United is the defending champion. |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by dayokanu(m): 11:24pm On Feb 05, 2009 |
Bluediva we can say EPL teams performed well at the CL for last season. But that is not enough to crown them the best league cos the EPL representatives in the other UEFA competitions were dire. Remember when Sevilla and Barcelona won the UEFA cup and CL in 2006 Remember when Schalke and Dortmund won the UEFA cupp and CL in 1997 Remember when Parma and AC Milan won the UEFA cup and CL in 1994 That is what is called total domination thats when you can certify a league as the best. Bluediva, Can we also say Portuguese league was the best in 2004 cos Porto won the CL then? |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by tkb417(m): 7:06pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
Bluediva we can say EPL teams performed well at the CL for last season. dont be a punk how many EPL teams have played the final in 4 years? how many have won in 4 years? compare that to the other leagues in 4 years and speak less fckery!! |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by Sauron1: 7:15pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
tkb417: Dayo's brain-cells have gathered cobwebs and dust. He now talks out of turn just for the sake of it. How can anyone doubt the power of the Premiership for the past 4 years?? Here is the list of the top ten national leagues according to the IFFHS 2008 report: 1. England 2. Italy 3. Argentina 4. Spain 5. Brazil 6. Germany 7. France 8. Mexico 9. Portugal 10. Ukraine |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by dayokanu(m): 7:28pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
Portsmouth, Middlesboro, Aston Villa, Bolton that fail amongst their peers in Europe are they from the "Best " EPL too? |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by Sauron1: 7:36pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
dayokanu: Yes, they are. Even UEFA acknowledge EPL as the best in Europe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficients Is it not daft of you to have cited Porto in 2004? Did Porto play a Portugese team in the final of the Champions League in 2004? How many Portugese teams were in the semi-finals of UCL 2003/4 season? How many times have Portugese teams featured in the final of the UCL in the previous years to 2003/4 season when Porto won it? Dayo, give up. Today is not just your day. |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by dayokanu(m): 7:50pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
If Portsmouth, Borough, Villa and everton who gets disgraced regularly are products of that "strong EPL" That UEFA coefficients must be a joke. |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by tkb417(m): 7:55pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
Portsmouth, Middlesboro, Aston Villa, Bolton that fail amongst their peers in Europe are they from the "Best " EPL too?tell us the teams from Germany that recently won the UEFA cup? even ur Bayern were disgraced from the competition. That aside, how come the true champions of any country are the the league winners? why not the FA cup winners? why do we accord the UCL winners the numero uno in europe? why not the UEFA cup? who do they choose the world footballer of the year, european footballer of the year et al from the UCL/world cup and not the UEFA? one reason: The UEFA cup is a substandard competition played by some substandard teams whatever happens in that competition doesnt count jack!!!! The king of europe are UTD not Zenith!! so cut ur UEFA theories and face reality The powerhouse of the UCL for the past 4 years have been the EPL teams check Liverpool vs Milan (winner) Milan vs Liverpool Arsenal vs Barcelona Chelsea vs UTD (Winner) count the bold and tell me what u have and tell me how many times they have won in 4 years i cant see any Bundesliga team here even in the semis, what a shame |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by Sauron1: 8:01pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
dayokanu: At this juncture, a full grown tse tse fly has more brain coordination than Dayokanu. Who are you to question UEFA, IFFFHS and other football bodies who have placed the Premiership as the top league in Europe?? There's a reason we play 4 teams in the Premiership and Bundesliga can only play 3 teams. Give up, dude. U have been schooled. |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by chamotex(m): 8:04pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
This is a DISGRACE!!! Comparing Bundesliga to PL. Common now. Please delete this thread, what's the point? |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by dayokanu(m): 8:20pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
That aside, how come the true champions of any country are the the league winners? why not the FA cup winners? from your reasoning, wouldnt it make sense to use Dangote as a measure of average Nigerian living standards? |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by Sauron1: 8:32pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
dayokanu: Look at your vacuous reasoning. . . . . We are trying to analyse the BEST LEAGUE in Europe not the average standard!!! Dangote would be used as an example when talking about the RICHEST people in Nigeria. U cannot even understand simple concept of a cyber-debate. What has the average Nigerian living standard gotta do with the richest Nigerian. Are you sure your brain is not overheating? |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by dayokanu(m): 8:43pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
The best team in England might be better than the best teams elsewhere but overall the league is not better. Understandng anything is difficult for you. Ibime spent 2 weeks explaining ratio to you the other time. You want me to bring out bottle corks before you can understand elementary logic? |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by Sauron1: 8:59pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
dayokanu: Grab your Nokia 3310 and call Michel Platini to reverse the UEFA Ranking. I didn't make the rules. . . . . .The same procedure was used way back when La Liga, Serie A were riding high. . .EPL fans never complained. If the same set of rules hoist EPL as the best league in Europe, why shout??
Ibime?? Ratio?? Is it the same argument where i schooled you about Bundesliga's superior goal ratio in Europe for the past 8 seasons?? Dayokanu, you are a total dork. |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by Emperoh(m): 10:30pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
Before we shoot ourselves on the foot; Under what headings are we comparing these leagues Finances Cup Representations Trophies won Worldwide Follower ship Attendance to live games TV rights and coverage etc Again within what time limit? These will help a long way. In the last five years, the English Premier League has been in the ascendancy So lets grade our comparison. I bet this will help us a lotin knowing who truely is king in Europe and by right, the world. |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by akinalabi(m): 11:24pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
Its absurd to compare the two leagues. There is no basis for comparison. |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by Cristalz(f): 9:45am On Feb 07, 2009 |
DK will have your head for that |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by HorneyChic(f): 9:54am On Feb 07, 2009 |
Its the EPLs time now. La Liga was the best some seasons ago. DDK I don't see the Bundesliga ever becoming the best in the world, at least not in this life time. |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by dayokanu(m): 4:08pm On Feb 07, 2009 |
Cristalz, No one has come forth with an explanation of why EPl clubs in other competitions are battered home. Portsmouth, Boro and co are they EPL clubs and can their performance also be used to measure the strenght of the league? |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by kaypumpin2(m): 4:21pm On Feb 07, 2009 |
dayokanu: And you are yet to elucidate why the Big Clubs in Bundesliga,La Liga et al have taken a back seat in UCL in the last 5 yrs. |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by dayokanu(m): 4:48pm On Feb 07, 2009 |
So if all the leagues dont have a clear advantage all round, what is then the basis for declaring a winner? EPL are woeful in UEFA cup, others are bad in CL so who leads |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by kaypumpin2(m): 7:19pm On Feb 07, 2009 |
It's like having students from a particular school getting high grades in subjects like Maths,English,Physics and Ecomonics and students from another particular school getting good grades in Yoruba and Home Economics.Which will you consider a better school? The question is not if other leagues are woeful, but if they having the wherewithal to compete with the TOP clubs in England. The answer in the performances of this prestigious clubs in the UCL. |
Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by Sauron1: 7:24pm On Feb 07, 2009 |
kay_pumpin: That analogy is not suitable enough. . . . . It is like students from a particular school ripping JAMB apart(always taking the top positions) and the students from another particular school topping POLY-JAMB always. Which one would any straight thinking observer consider as the top guns?? Who takes UEFA cup seriously in the EPL?? When was the last time any of the Premiership giants participated in UEFA cup?? Milan is playing UEFA cup now. . . . .Bayern did last season. . . . .I cannot imagine the TOP FOUR teams in England not competing in the UCL. The world will CRASH. . . . . .That is a testament to their superiority in Europe. |

Re: League Analysis: The EPL Vs The Bundesliga by dayokanu(m): 8:26pm On Feb 07, 2009 |
Why mus a whole league be about the top 4. Anyone ripping JAMB apart should also be ripping Poly-JAMB if he is a good student |
