Hahaha, Alaba market okrika seller.
Ladi Kwali's middle name DOSEI is her own native name. Ladi Kwali married a white man Cardew but she never even answered his name. Infact Kwali is the name of the town on FCT where Ladi hails from and she decided to answer the name of her father's town as surname cos she was very proud of her father's town.

Funmilayo was very proud of her paternal side and that was why she never threw away her father's name Ransome.

But Margaret Ekpo was probably very ashamed of her paternal roots and never identified with her father's name and that was why she only answered Ekpo and never added Obiasulor. What a shame!
This is what happens when a man from a very irresponsible family and tribe meets with a responsible woman, the child will always attach better to the mother's side.

This is one of the most daft arguments I've come across.
How many women then bore and even now bear double-barrelled names?
Don't be si-lly in your bid to cause division and stop the attachment by force. Your group is not represented in in YOUR PERSONAL list of most influential Nigerian women. What a shame.
The so called SS couldn't even put up a united front in the presidential elections with a large number of voters in Edo state voting againt their SS brother.
When push comes to shove, we know where the loyalty of Edoid groups lie.
SS has nothing in common apart from being formed of minority groups to cause division in the east.

Don't understand why people are bashing themselves over something as simple as Efik or Igbo parentage. Ekpo was from both Igbo/Efik parentage but played far greater roles in Aba and Enugu(Igbo) wink
Politicians like Mbonu Ojike and Nnamdi Azikiwe inspired her.

Funny thing is that the ones screaming that she's not Igbo are not even Efik.

CORRECT

Point of correction, there was nothing like SS or SE. It was strictly Northern Region, Eastern region etc.

Not by beauty but brains cheesy. These women are remembered till date because they stood for their rights. Intelligence coupled with dillegence paves the way to a successful future. I want to be remembered like them, girls do you?

that's the difference between BISOLA and tboss of BBN
shame to beauty where brain thrives.
though their literal stage names says it all
Bisola = born into wealth
tboss = tokunbo boss = akube addict = fairly used

Also, based on the 5 major human geographical divisions we have in Nigeria

The Core-northern part of Nigeria, the Middlebelt part, Eastern, Western & Niger deltan

Let's say Margaret Ekpo represents the Niger deltan region as an Ibibio
Ladi Kwali represents the Middlebelt region as a Gbagyi woman
& Funmilayo Kuti represents the Western (yoruba speaking region)

I'd like to hear from Igbos (easternerns) and the Hausa-fulanis (core-northernerns), who are the most influential Igbo & Hausa-fulani women that ever lived??

Hereditary and environment is what make up a man. Hereditary - the mother and father's gene or personality traits. Environmental influence are the society, schools, Church, culture etc. Magerate's personality is a result of these two. In essence, she is the daughter of her father - the Igbo man and her mother the efik woman by DNA.
