Don't talk like a stupid person. Ekpo always identified as Ibibio and not Igbo. During her period in the Eastern Parliament, she never represented igbo areas but rather Ibibio.
You are the one acting as a fool here. Where did you read she represented Ibibio areas. Thought you started this thread. Didn't you read in your post that she represented Aba constituency in the Eastern regional house of representatives. She is Efik by tribe according to what we saw of her biography. Her mother is an Efik princess while the Father is an Igbo man.

Pls google the first female pilot..

And do u know PROF DORA NKEM AKUNYILI

Abeg my brother, we know Dora Akunyili had a great influence as a Nigerian woman, but she cannot compete on this list with either of these 3 women.
Funmilayo, Margaret n Ladi all influenced Nigeria's independence one way or the other, but Akunyili who was born in 1954 was just a child as at this time, so pls no basis for comparison.

She identified as Ibibio

How does that negate the fact that she had Igbo blood?

Didn't she chose to settle in Aba with her husband?

Isn't her biography saying that she represented the Eastern Nigeria?

Why did you sound like a group of people were arguing about the ethnic group that owned her?

Why do you want to deny the Igbos what they had a hand in the making of it?

The only part of Margaret Ekpo that was Igbo owes to the igbotic sperm of her father....LoL
Otherwise Margaret was brought up in Calabar under Efik culture with her Efik mother because her father died at a young age.
Efik remained Margaret's native language and mother's tongue till death, although she was also partly fluent in Igbo too.

Also, based on the 5 major human geographical divisions we have in Nigeria

The Core-northern part of Nigeria, the Middlebelt part, Eastern, Western & Niger deltan

Let's say Margaret Ekpo represents the Niger deltan region as an Ibibio
Ladi Kwali represents the Middlebelt region as a Gbagyi woman
& Funmilayo Kuti represents the Western (yoruba speaking region)

I'd like to hear from Igbos (easternerns) and the Hausa-fulanis (core-northernerns), who are the most influential Igbo & Hausa-fulani women that ever lived??

Ekpo never represented Aba in anything. Read the story well
She only organised and created pressure groups in Aba, because Aba was the largest city in her region (Eastern region. So she functioned from Aba.

Margaret Ekpo got elected into the parliament by the influence of her husband John Udo Ekpo who was also a member of the parliament and her husband was Ibibio.

So u can see that Efik-Ibibio influence was what made Margaret Ekpo who he was and not Igbo. because her Igbo father died while she was still young and her Efik mother brought her up to a grown woman.
However she lived as a proud eastern woman representing her region and fighting for the women in her region in totality. Igbo women benefited from Ekpo more than Ibibio-Efik women because almost all of Ekpo's activities were based in Aba.

Did you cede Magerate Ekpo to the Niger Delta based on whom she married or on her pertanity? How do you even measure Niger Delta, knowing that Imo and Abia, two Igbo states, and Ondo, a Yoruba state, are all part of the political and geographical entity called Niger Delta?
Besides, there was and ought to be North, West, Middle belt and East. Is Niger Delta in the constitution before the present arrangement that gave us six zones?
Finally, grow up dear, in as much as we are different nations that make up Nigeria as a country, we are one body. Like the body, some regions make up the head, chest, neck, etc., while some others make up the other part of the body which all play complementary roles. None is dispensible. None is less important, hence the achievement of a part must be inputted to the whole as w as the failure of a part. We are Nigerians, I am a Nigerian.

It has not gotten to this level my brother.
Igbos & Ibibio people share so much in common and they have so much intermarried over the years.

Margaret Ekpo's father is igbo and no one can change that, but the fact is that Ekpo's Ibibio-Efik roots overpowered the Igbo roots since she grew up in Calabar and her Igbo father died early and she also married an Ibibio man who helped her to become what she became.

Margaret's Efik mother & Ibibio husband made her who she was. Her Igbo father only helped to father her nothing else.
And this is why Ibibio-Efik peope treasured and honoured Margaret so much.

Abeg O Queen Amina of Zaria was not a Nigerian and never identified as a Nigerian.
At her own time, the british colonialists who created the entity Nigeria had not even stepped their feet on Nigerian soil for colonialism. Amina is just a historic figure and not Nigerian figure since during her time nothing like Nigeria existed.

What makes me who i am is not my dad's sperm or my mum's ova, but rather it is my UPBRINGING.
What about children who are products of rape or those who their fathers denied their mother's pregnancy but they grew up and due to the nurturing of their lovely mothers they later turned out succesful?
So who would the success of such persons be awarded to? The rapist or irresponsible father or the mother?

Margaret Ekpo was brought up by her mother in an Efik society, so she is more of Efik than Igbo.

The only part of Margaret that is Igbo is her paternity, but her personality, her culture and her mentality is Efik!
