Something I have noticed about most Nigerian city roads, the roads are never marked and I wish someone could explain why

Is it just that we so passionately love mediocrity or what is the reason exactly?... For crying out loud, after spending hundreds of millions to build a new road, why is it so difficult to spend a few thousands to mark the roads properly and give the city a nice and meaningful look?

Today we keep hailing the roads in Akwa-Ibom but in my opinion, there's just one thing that differentiates the roads in Uyo from other city roads in Nigeria, Uyo roads are marked.
