Take a chill ok, you drag the conversation for too long. You are an adult, when something doesn't go down well with you, just keep calm. Read more on the thread , decide if you want to take the test or not. If it actually work for you then come back with your success story. The people that replied you actually care about you, I personally won't reply you. I am an advocate of " Suit yourself"

Some people have actually brag about CC, no test etc but after denial, they came back here again to listen.

Like I will say again , whatever rocks your boat

why did you spend 5 years only to end up counting drugs in an enclosed room? To me you didn't spend your money well. If you had spent those years getting MBBS it would have paid off.

Bbdd will reap the fruits of his Pharmacy degree here in U.S. but I doubt if he would be satisfied working as a Phamacist in a teaching hospital earning meager pay as low as 120k monthly.

Please don't mind the lack of paragraphs on my post,am a lazy writer.

I think all you need to do is brace up and prepare. In my case, I was only concerned about the QA and AW because I knew I could explain the verbal in my SOP if I do well in the other two sections. I guess I wasn't so committed because I had already written one earlier and I only needed to up my QA score since the conversion of my old score to the new grading system did not place me at a competitive edge for my program. If you know you need the admission as well as funding, I suggest you do a study plan to help you read as much as you require.

Why all this stress over the term "lazy"? This is a public forum and you need not take things to heart because you guys don't know each other.
More so, Like Zeezahbee stated, many other people come to the thread to read and learn as such, all they are trying to do is to encourage such minds to write the test.

Read the new yorker mag every morning. Especially the art section. It'll make you come up to terms with dense literature and boring write ups.

Then study new words at least 10/day.
When dealing with passages, everything is inside the passage. You should make sure you check the passage again to verify your answers. It's a slow but sure process if you work at it.

Thanks bro, I got the New Yorker app on my phone and I've studied about 600 words. I've seen improvement tho but Quant just woo me every time. grin

Thanks for sharing your thought walspring

I said something similar on this to Justwise sometimes ago when someone was looking for a particular post and i also said someone can use a command on NL to search for a particular post and it will just bring it up but he said no such since he doesn't have the power and only the Admin can do that or so

I believe Mr seun can do something like this and similar to the # tag you mentioned above but if people dont make use of that, i dont think what people are searching they will get it directly maybe similar or close to it sha.

Maybe searching for a special word like transcript or visa granted or visa approved will do the work better in order to save them stress of reading from part 1 to 6

Although reading through part 1 to 6 will also help and assist them to acquire more experience and side attractions like advise and comment suggested for delayed applicants, e-fighting, jokes etc and not just only the success story experience alone

bbdd, I do not know what your background is or who you are as a person, but I must say you do come across as rude.

"This is a bold face lie". Was that necessary? My point was you cannot and SHOULD NOT label people you barely know and haven't met. That's what I learnt growing up. You CAN communicate with people without such show of aggression.

Now, believe it or not, there ARE schools in the United States that give funding based on criteria other than standardized tests. You claim you are not a novice and yet do not know that some schools waive the GRE requirement for individuals with more than 5-7 years work experience in the field of study they are applying for.

Preparing for the GRE requires lots of time and sacrifice. For one, you'd need to begin preparation at least 2 months to test day if you're hoping for a decent score. Not many people have that type of time on their hands esp those with families and kids. In such cases, it will be unwise sitting for an exam you've barely had time to prepare for because you can always predict the outcome.

Finally, like I stated in my previous post, some individuals (some of whom I know) have sponsors willing to cover the cost of their education but couldn't be bothered about the process of obtaining the admission.

I personally did not want to write the GRE not because I am lazy or as you put it "not academically excellent/ afraid of writing the test), but I had so much going on at the time, writing the test would've been impossible. I eventually did but I'm not going to go into that right now.
Let me give you a little bit of my background. Had my undergrad outside Nigeria at a regional powerhouse, completed my masters in two western European countries (turned down a full scholarship to LSE to attend this program), worked at the United Nations headquarters in New York and started a Phd (but transferring to a diff institution) all before the age of 25.
I imagine, if I had on come here at the time with the question, you'd have called me lazy.

I am not disputing the fact that some individuals are in fact lazy or have other intentions for actually wanting to travel to the US (other than studies), but there are others that are genuinely unable to write the exams for cogent reasons, so labeling everyone as lazy is not right.

I am not going to argue with you on this.

Oh and btw, I had 322 (Q:161, V:161, AWA: 4.5) on the test but I'm still lazy yeah?

Don't discourage someone about writing the Test, even if they get funding without it, what is their chances of getting Visa without it.
Personally i don't think Gre is that much of a big deal, When I wrote mine, its was a week to the exam I started studying and I still got a good score.

@slimmy do you mean pharmacist earn as low as 120k monthly when converted to Nigerian currency? I thought the average salary for most pharmacist practicing in the US earn as high as 100 to 120k US dollars yearly, which is about 20 to 24 million Naira per year. Unless am really uninformed here. Thanks

I know we all fond of saying Google is ur friend on Nairaland grin, and in this case he's still our friend.

I did a search with Keywords usually used in a visa transcript to bring out all Visa Transcripts on this Trend.
Just type this into Google:

This will bring up most approvals on this trend
Nairaland Visa Approved General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 7 - Travel transcript Vo

This will bring up most denials on this trend
Nairaland Visa denied delayed General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 7 - Travel transcript Vo

This should help a little

Danjaninja runs the group.

Are you going for a Masters or a PhD? With such score, you should be aiming for a higher ranked university.
