Re: Love Language by kevoh(m): 1:40am On Feb 12, 2009
I think it's better to start a sentence with 'Having bought' but you won't be able to use it in your case because it will later take place in the future.
Example: Having bought a motorcycle he drove home = He bought a motorcycle and drove home.

Just text your man and tell him dear.

I will not spent valentines day with you if you don't buy me a bleeping new dress. Enough with the English grammer, take that to ENG 101 class
Re: Love Language by DaPhoenix(f): 1:57am On Feb 12, 2009
What the heck?
Re: Love Language by glorina: 2:04am On Feb 12, 2009
@Tope

It's getting clearer now,
I now understand that having bought is used to describe past events

e.g. My excellent hubby and i already have 4 kids so we don't wanna make any more babies

Having had 4 kids, we have decided not to have any more babies

Thanx y'all kiss

WOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!! cheesy
Re: Love Language by crious: 10:24am On Feb 13, 2009
@ poster

its i will not spend valentine's day with you without HAVEN bought me the dress.
(pls do not confuse with HAVEN - a safe place)

having could be used in "i like eating my cake and having it" or "they are having a ball"

when you use 'have'in past participle as in above, then its HAVEN not the -ing form HAVING.

em by the way Daphoenix's signage - "if that boy don't love you now, he will never love you" is american english.
the general acceptability of it is still doubtful.

class full of too many teachers,
