what's good room?
the number is going down,
sorry Mac and I left the room.
I don't know why I'm kind of ,
I use to waqnt to spend the whole day wanting to get on nairaland, into the joint, check a friend's profile and ,
But, it's all changing.
I'll come back on someday,
For Saintsam, Somegurl, Nilla, Mukina, my bro Mac, Genial; the joint men.
Now, I'm just thinking,
I'm working on 'Friends' for now,
When i get on, when i get back,
It'll be here.
Will miss the joint.

' Franc '

The journey began after a ritual,
A session I'm ignorant of its details,
Done enough to cause procreation,
The beginning of a Nigerian,
An embryo.

My home was constantly warm,
But I adapted and evolved,
A foetus in a lonely world,
A big-headed evolving creature,
Fed constanly in its sleep

My development stopped my host's monthly flow,
It got her infected with a morning sickness,
Made her urinate more often,
As the belly started to protude,
And her breasts bigger in anticipation of me.

By the fifth month or so,
I became bigger and clever,
I could move out of discomfort;
When hungry,
I kicked if our reservior was empty.

During the ninth month,
I became really restless,
An ungrateful rebel who wanted a spacious home.
My activities led to contractions,
the beginning of labour.

On a twelfth of October,
After hours of contractions, labour and 'push',
A regretful rebel in wails,
An end with a tedious new beginning.

' The Quest '

I've walked quite a distance,
Miles apart from peers through thoughtful strides,
Only the physical is left in attendace,
A protracted soulful ride,
Not just a cursory mobile glance.

As I open-up doors,
I walk through characters,
A search for the humane of course,
Those likeable to stars,
Your strenght when life gets so dark and tortous.

Through doors, my thoughts continue to surge,
Luscious personalities with standards but without shoulders,
No where to lean when it's but that urge,
What circumstances leave you when in shudders,
An inevitable crutch.

My peers jolt me out of that end,
But I've seen enough to know who to call a friend,
Just enough to begin a new search,
Like an eagle in search,
Flying until it finds the very best tree to perch.

HUGS

It's wondrous what a hug can do
A hug can cheer you when you are blue
A hug can say "I LOVE YOU SO"
Or, "Gee, I hate to see you go"

A hug is, "Welcome back again!"
And "Great to see you soon!"
Or "Where've you been?"

A hug can soothe a small child's pain
And bring a rainbow after rain
The HUG! There's just no doubt about it
We scarcely could survive without it

No longer do you have to worry
For a hug is the way to say "I'm sorry"
A hug delights and warms and charms
It must be why we all have arms

Hugs are great for fathers and mothers
Sweet for sisters, as well as for brothers
Chances are some favorite aunt
Loves them more than potted plants

Kittens crave them
Puppies love them
Heads of State are not above them

A hug can break the language barrier
And make the dullest day seem merrier
No need to fret about the store of em'
The more you give, the more there are of 'em

So stretch those arms of urs franc,Nnilla, moremia, and others without delay and
GIVE ME A HUG TODAY!
Re: Poetry Contest by franc1982(m): 1:29pm On Nov 23, 2006

U sure will get lots of them from me, anytime anyday.

can u write a poem about ur night?
