Re: Poetry Contest by somegirl(f): 5:42pm On Dec 01, 2006
The sun has set already long ago. Now, I'm waiting for my guest to arrive. The ingredients have been bought but still rest in the fridge or the carpet. Soon, I will have to stand in front of the oven cooking. But I know, he'll arrive before I'll finish and help me with the chores so that we later will be able to enjoy this feast together. Life does not end just because the light is gone for a while.
Re: Poetry Contest by somegirl(f): 5:48pm On Dec 01, 2006
Yes, Macalurs, that's my village. grin It's so quiet and peaceful, got more cows, swines, ducks, horses, sheep and cats than humans. You'd be bored after only one week-end there, two churches but not even a kiosk or any other store (unless you count the farmers selling their products), no school, no post office, no cinema, no train station but a bus stop where the last bus stops around 6pm and none on Sunday at all --- I miss it. grin

SAVE THE PLANET EARTH

It’s the still of the dawn

The awakening of a new day

The promise of this day

Such a lovely dawn.

Dark gray and white clouds forming

They are telling a story

To the child who believes

In the song of the nightingale

In the complaints of the cricket

In the race of the ant

In the struggle of all living things

To enjoy and bless this new day.

And through it all we see

The greatness and beauty

The one we are trying so hard

To mar and destroy

This is the only planet we know

The only dawn we can see

The only concept we have of life

Yet unlike the nature

We are keen to destroy

We constantly reject this gift

This lovely grant called life

We introduced technology

Another step for civilization

we are at the end of the year 2006

But we still failed our mission

To turn humans into beings

Who feel as one with the universe

And all living forms

We failed to uproot greed and hatred

We failed to eradicate narrow mentalities

We failed to find the ways

To preserve the planet

Only found means to destroy it.

The only thing we succeeded in

Is to create more greedy humans

More destructive natures

More hatred and destruction

More vengeance and wars

More victims of the vicious circle

When will we stop and look around

To see the utmost gift we all have

Been given the miracle of life

By a planet that never failed us

The Sun, that never stops rising

The Moon and the stars

That are always there for us

The oceans, seas and rivers

The nature, unconditionally producing

But we over and over again

Failed its expectations.

Failed the expectations of our universe

And its Creator.

LETS SAVE PLANET EARTH

PEACE

Peace is death's dead end
Its eternal enigma, yet clingy friend,
That churns turbulence till oblivion blend;
A battle field at dawn, that stares like nothing happen'd.
Re: Poetry Contest by macalurs(m): 8:36pm On Dec 03, 2006

Re: Poetry Contest by franc1982(m): 3:45pm On Dec 05, 2006
Here I go, just hope the joint likes this.
' Peace '

A conscious tranquility,
Silence, and stillness, and nothingness,
Serenity with an heavenly quality,
You, a beautiful parkland, that calmness.

A soft spiritual music, nature,
That luminous sky, colours flitting and wavering,
An alluring magnificent mixture,
That kind endearing feeling.

You, sleep, rest,
Life at its best,
Where troubles vanishes, it's but His grace,
Nothing, just His divine face.

The greens get greener,
And the streams bluer,
What I feel when i write, my peaceful phase,
Far from a mental state of haze.
Re: Poetry Contest by nilla(f): 6:22pm On Dec 05, 2006
PEACE

Looking up and pondering
With broken hearts and broken spirits
Its been a struggle
Sighs heard all around
Waiting, hoping and praying for that day
When pain, suffering and hunger would be history

Looking up again
This time with dizzy eyes
Barely seeing the bird
Idle gaze suddenly disrupted . . .
A dove with an Olive branch
At last it will be well

Ok I'm waiting on Genial and somegirl before i make my comments.
