The current law provided for a five year jail term for any adult who molests an under 18 child.

What the new law does is it makes it life imprisonment for anyone caught molesting an underage child who is under 11 years of age. For those who are molesting children 11-18 years...their punishment remains 5 years in jail.

As to enforcement...that's another story.
