A bit obtuse of you to compare alcohol to fuel actually. But since i must break it down to you like a 5th grader, we cannot do without fuel so we have no choice but to continue to mitigate the negatives that come with making it available. Ogogoro on the other hand we can do without.

Folks like you are the biggest problem with christianity!

Why will Jesus created something he don't approved of ( his mother even begged him to ( the supposed holy virgin ) ). Moreover, is wine not involved in the last supper, a tradition that even till now is one of christian cornerstone?! cool
never mind them sanctimonious christians, alchohol is made from plants created by God, the problem is not alchohol, its the ABUSE of alchohol, this same people go to chemists to buy paracetamol how do they think paracetamol is manufactured? undecided

FG better not try to do what it can not finish. This is a locally refined gin from a natural product that has been taken by the locals hundred of years ago. It sever many purposes ranging from medicine to entertainment. The local medicine are made with ogogoro and not from any chemical compositions called alcohol. This from a very long time has done nothing wrong with the body system. The general public should note that Ogogoro does not kill. It is those bad chemical and drug mixture that kills. Original ogogoro does not do any harm to the body. Even the doctors advice people to take it. It is those fake ones that kill and do lot of damages to the body system.

Fake things is not here today. Ogogoro is not the only product out there which fake replica is in the market. Fake drugs like paracetamol and even bread is out there. I was in the market where I found an old mama identifying a fake red oil mere by tasting it. What would have happened to those thay do not know original oil from the fake one? Who keeps the record of those thay have died from taking fake food and drugs? How many thousands should we count of people thay have died by taking expired medicine? Does this make the government raise a ban on medicine and food?

Ogogoro have become a field of investment. It has produces millionaires and help the poor one sustain into the poor economy system. What would happen to there business? Are we going to push them back into zero job oppourtunity economy?

There are lot of houses in Ogun and lagos state where fake seaman and schnapp are been made. Lot of beers are made in the east which are fake and have claimed lot of lives. Government should wage war on these people producing fake food and drugs.

Government should encourage us to refine out own local wine and gin. We need to keep watering investment oppourtunity and not put ban just on anything.

In the case of getting drunk, foreign beer and gin too make people tumble into gutter. There is no justification for banning products like ogogoro and palm wine. It is natural product and do the body system lot of good than those chemical composed drugs which kill us steadily.

Ogogoro must stay

dont be a hypocrite, its okay for people to die from tanker accident but not okay to die of alchohol consumption? One would have thought that its most importantly about saving lives, so in your book some lives are more important than others... come on! MAN! am sure you can do better than this, i think coca cola should be banned too it kills more

Babies, the aged ,the weak and the sick also sleep during the day and they all deserve our consideration. Some hospitals are located near worship centers and they also need protection from greedy pastors, imams and overzealous worshippers. .

They should ban corruption first.
Corruption has killed more poor Nigerians than Ogogoro.
Corruption makes our roads to be neglected and become death traps for thousands of road users and thousands have been killed in road accidents.
Corruption makes Federal Road Safety Commission to give drivers license to illiterates who cannot read and write and don't know road safety rules and signs and cause road accidents on the road.
Corruption makes government hospitals to be neglected and become useless for Nigerians who need medical services and thousands of people have died from poor medical services in Nigeria.
The list of horrible and terrible things corruption has done to poor Nigerians since 1960 to date is too long for this thread.

Ogogoro must stay

All the ogogoro you drink at iya ruka corner shop is not refined, how do you know that an error has not been made and a poisonous root or leaf has not been used in brewing the ogogoro.

You don't there is no regulated standardized manufacturing process, the contents of the drink are not known.

I like what orijin and Alomo have done, they have a product which is manufactured to acceptable NAFDAC standards.

If people are dying government has a duty to protect lives

Why are they banning it now? Anyway the timing is perfect. Islamic state of Nigeria(ISIN) in d making. Everybody will now result to the fu****g hard drugs taken by them (northerners) just to get high after they have successfully ban ogogoro and thereafter next on agenda will b to ban beer. God is watching u and ur cohorts closely... Buhari

I'm also pretty sure buhari has no hand in this ogogoro ban, it is strictly a measure taken by NAFDAC and the WHO to curb the death of individuals who may drink this substance
