my question goes to the Elders gurus and on this forum pls. ive been following for quite a while and just need a candid opinion. i applied for trv last year and was denied due to travel history and purpose of visit. i stated in my app back then that i was going to visit my husband who is a PR but still got refused. (hes unable to sponsor me yet due to some reasons) now im planning on applying for my masters degree to MUN in economics. im a graduate of econs with 3 and a half year exp in bankin...my questions: 1. my husband is obviously over there..alberta to be precise. is there any issue dt may arise from this because my husband resides in alberta and i wanna school in MUN. 2. also, is it ok to use my SOA and his SOA? i appreciate ur feedbacks. |

Your husband is a PR? So what exactly is the problem? Can't he just apply for you to join him and you get PR and even pay cheaper tuition even your decide to still purse your degree? **Edit: I just saw your topic about the 5yr ban, who exactly was banned? You or your husband? Olawunmif: |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Olawunmif: 1:55pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
TheBae: he was sponsored as a spouse. hence the ban. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by hayqinsbFX: 2:04pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
And that's how CIC has not denied me yet... |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 2:05pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
So he got divorced and married you and got a 5yr ban? I'm not sure using his SOA is a good idea. What were the reasons for your previous delay? You might want to look for another sponsor and spend some days in prayer city. Hopefully the elders can help you with this Olawunmif: |

Good day All, Please a quick one. I am planning to apply for Canadian Visa to A college for Post-graduate program and below are my concerns; - Is it compulsory i get a study leave form from my Employer? - Must I go through vfs or its possible I do the direct online application. If I do straight online, how then will I complete the Biometrics even after paying the 85cdn online. Thanks all. |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Olawunmif: 2:11pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
TheBae: LOL. nah lemme explain. Immigration law states dt u cant sponsor a foreign national as a spouse if u were sponsored by a spouse urself. and u must have waited 5 years after u bcm a PR bfr u sponsor. not that he was banned. he jst has to wait out the 5 year rule which expires next year. now that its clearer, can i add his SOA to mine or its still not advisable? |

Okay better, the topic you posted said "Ban". I get you now. Just look for another sponsor and you can be the co-sponsor Olawunmif: |

lattychem:I doubt esp if ur going for course-based masters(M.Eng)..Bt for research based(MSc), there could be some collaborations with oil coys or some industries. If ur aim is to get canadian work experience, I will say u shud apply for admission into the program and graduate. Am sure u cud get a job after graduation by God's grace, and since ur a chemical engr, u have options in chemical industries apart from oil coys that are at the moment trying to float admist the current setback.. |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by teesboy: 3:08pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
Olawunmif:Evidently his ban is not over yet so his SOA may or may not be an issue rather i will suggest if he can afford to he should pay your tuition only or plus accommodation, include the payment reciepts with your application so the need for his SOA is mitigated. Get a sponsor (not your husband) and be a co-sponsor with your job, payslips, personal SOA + assets etc i think you'll be okay. |

I can help proofread it once you write it. But you need to write it first, convincingly explaining to the VO exactly why you chose this course. As @Hayqinsbfx said, whatever course you study is your own personal decision, however I agree with @eetti that you need explain in detail how you would use Indigenous Studies on your return to Nigeria. If you don't mind me asking, why did you choose this course and what do you plan on using it for when you get back to Naija? emmy46: |

[quote author=ejirostephen post=37048882] It is advisable you tailor your app to your situation. Nothing is compulsory. If you've been working with your employer for a period and you're eligible or privileged to obtain a study leave letter, with all pleasure do get it. It's up to you to choose which better suits you; Online or Paper. If you choose to go online, you'll receive a biometric call-up mail after you submit your app and then you can go for it at the vfs office. With paper route, you'll be able to do biometrics upon submission of your app. |
