kekakuz: Yes it is good to take the hard copy to church instead of the phone or ipad. This underscores the point that you're really not ashamed of your faith. On the other hand, never make the mistake of pointing your bible to the devil as a weapon. He'll merely brush it aside and make a mince meat of you. Study the Word of God and memorise some portions and verses. It is these same words(Rhema) that you throw at the devil with faith whenever he shows up. Try it and see. |

mistypiper: i wasnt goin to attend to the post until i came accross ur 'farm' allusion. goin to church wit ur tab is not like goin to the farm without the hoe and cutlass..it is actualy like goin to the farm with a tractor! find other means for ur analysis....the orthodox bible represents d manual tool-hoe, cutlass, the tab a mechanical tool.goin wit a tab is never equal to goin witout a tool. |

Why don't you use stone? Since the ten commandment is from stone written by God. Why don't you continue to use scroll? Since the original bible was scroll not book. Why don't you continue to use greek? Since the original langauge version is written in greek, not english. Why don't you continue to use king james version of english. Since the original english version is KJV and not other english version. Using electronic bible is all about personal conviction, not to do other things like chatting on facebook, tweeter. That's only where you have point 2 Likes |

izutex007:Everything we do on Earth tampers with nature! Having better alternatives at a possible lesser damage to nature and not discouraging people from embracing these alternatives is what I'm about. You do know how voluminous Encyclopedia pages can be? One smartphone/tablet can be made to hold 50 Encyclopedias and still have space for other educational books e.g Dictionaries,Thesaurus,Lecture notes(meaning no paper wasted). Same tablet is used to read daily news online, instead of buying Newspaper, save or download large volumes of religious tracts, audios and videos instead of stockpiling Newspaper, different Bible versions and CD/DVD plates. 2 Likes |

nedu2000:I don't know the church you attend or who's been feeding you with all these things you are saying. 1. Bible is not the identity card of Christians, your character is. Your behaviour is what identifies you as a Christian. When the disciples of Jesus gathered, their behaviour was what made people to say these people behave like Christ...hence the Christians. 2. Homosexuality didn't come to be as a result of smartphones, cos even in the land of Sodom and Gomorrah there wasn't anything like smartphones. 3. Knowing the order of the bible doesn't make one a Christian, as matter of fact some ppl study theology and are made to know bible verses and chapters but some of them still are pagans while some are even atheists. The Lord wants those that worship him in spirit and in truth not those that quotes the highest bible or those that know the order of the bible highest. 4. Smartphones are not the only phones that ring in churches. Even most times it's Nokia Torch that ring. Smartphones have flight mode which u can activate and u won't receive any calls or texts again while u use ur phone as ur bible. 5. As for being used for one aim, show off: well, that could be ur reason for using a smartphone but certainly not mine. |

nedu2000:@Poster you are more 100% wrong. why? Initially, God engraved the word on a stone tablet for Moses. By Jesus' time, people don't carry stone tablet, the word has been incorporated into animal skin made in form of scroll, because of civilization and Jesus never spill trash like you posted. Growing civilization inspire people of God to make the word written on pen and paper you called Bible today. Now, we have electronic Bible in Smart devices. If you want to go back to stone-age, so be it. I would love to see you carry ton of stone tablets engraved with the word of God everyday if you like to go back to how it was from the beginning. |

nedu2000: 1. Holding bible in the public doesn't in any way show that one is a Christian! It is not the identity card of the christian! Jesus said these signs shall follow them that believe- cast out devils, speak with new tongues, lay hands on the sick, etc, he never mentioned carrying bible as a sign! 2. Technology brought in homosexuality and female reverend? Are you ok? Technology has notn to do with this. What on earth is wrong with having female reverends? 3. Christians do not in any way loose the essence of the bible because of smartphones or ipads. This is a very myopic view! 4. If ipad distracts someone in the church then the paper bible will also distract the person, the decorations will also distract the person! 5. Ipad and other techs are common in our world today- anyone who shows off with it is a child! Its just like someone showing off with a fone! Your view is very myopic! Do you know what type of bible they used during the days of Jesus? They used scroll during the time of Jesus and stones during the time of Moses! So why are you not using stone or scroll today? The bible progressed from stone- scroll- paper bible- e-bible! And more formats will still come out! Stop this your backward and archaic view!!! |

As much as I agree that the bible could identify us as Christians it is also important to stress the fact that going with the Bible to church does not guarantee full concentration during services and also not a prerequisite for direct inspiration from the throne of grace. The bible says "let your light shine among men" you don't have to carry bible to prove you are a christian, anybody can carry the bible but what message is your life preaching? "for the letter kills but the spirit gives light." God Bless you!! Happy Sunday!!! |

My people perish for lack of knowledge.... Everything in life has both advantages and disadvantages... Internet for example... Some people use it for negative stuffs while the reason for it by the inventor is to make things easier. You decide base on the advantages .... I have come to the understanding that there are more advantages of this gadgets with respect to the subject above. It depends on you...Why you got it (the gadget) in the first instance. Having the printed Bible does not make you a Christian....and right now people knows very well that most gadgets have one or more religious books installed... So on the go you have access to the WORD... And with various bible apps around you can have all the various bible translations on your tablet or phone... you won't be able to carry a printed bible with all the translations about like you can on your tablet.... Also the concordance...commentaries and other bible study tools are available on the go. The more you use them the more you are familiar with the app and you lol be able to get the best from them. The essence of electronic bible is to make it more accessible....not to show or prove that you are a Christian....What shows you are a Christian is from the fruits... By their fruit you shall know them. Lack of knowledge about the reason for a thing leads to conditions presented by the writer. |

Are you insinuating that technology is a sin? If that's the case, maybe we should dump the bible books for good old ancient scrolls. |
