Please, is admission letter needed to apply for visa? I mean that sent by school as hard copy. I want to know if I have to request for it be sent to me or embassy. I'm short of time, my sponsor documentation is near completion. My school is Uhasselt fikki1: |

whizJohn: Normally, YES... But I think you should print the one they attached to you as a mail and use it if it doesn’t arrive or time or you feel it won’t arrive on time... tell them to send it to the embassy on your behalf... print it out in coloured... |

Please note that the information below is copied from another thread. The user posted it in 2014. This is what I could find about the French community in Belgium. I study in Belgium but in wallonia not flanders. there is no racism in belgium as far as I know and their educational standard is really high compared 2 many other countries cause i've met a lot of exchange students from different countries that say it's really tough here. The major problem you'll have is language barrier as belgium is not an English speaking country.however, most of their master programmes are in english as they have a lot of international students but for you 2 be able to interact u'll need to know a bit of french if you are in wallonia or dutch if you are in flanders. In flanders most pple speak English so it's not so bad and u can get a student job but knowing the language is an added advantage but in wallonia if u don't speak french it's almost impossible 2 get a job. Cost of living is relatively ok depending on where u stay, brussels is one of the cheapest cities 2 live in even though it's the capital, places like ottignies r more expensive. Belgium is a small country.u can travel from 1 end to another in 5 hrs and transport is a bit cheap compared 2 some other European countries,it's also in the centre of Europe and many international and EU organisations have their HQS there because of this it is quite tedious 2 get the visa,it's a long process so u av 2 start on time. Good day guys, Pls l need clarification on legalisation/authentication of academic results and other official documents. 1. For admission to KU Leuven, must I legalise my original documents at the Belgium Embassy before uploading my documents on school application system or will the legalisation at Ministry of Education and Foreign Affairs suffice to secure admission? 2. Also, aside O’level, transcript and B.sc certificate, what other documents are necessary for authentification at the Belgium Embassy. Looking forward to hearing back from you. Big hugs to everyone that has been making helpful contributions on this forum. More wisdom. 1 Like |

Hi 1. For admission to the university, you scan your original documents and upload them as you fill the online application form. After those scanned documents are processed, the University will ask you to send legalized hard copies to Belgium. You will make photocopies of your original documents and legalize those photocopies. To legalize, you will first go to the Ministry of Education, then the Ministry of Foreign affairs and finally the Belgian Embassy. 2. The school will provide a list of the documents they want you to legalize and send to Belgium This is my understanding of the process, I stand to be corrected Femiadeuyi: 1 Like 1 Share |

Thank you for the response. One concern tho, I’ve read on here that Belgium Embassy doesn’t accept photocopies of credentials but only original. I don’t understand. How does that work? cause you said I should photocopy my original documents and legalise them at MOE and MOFA and Belgium Embassy. Are you studying at KU Leuven or do you know anyone studying there? Femiadeuyi: I am not at KU Leuven. I'm a prospective student. I think I know the post you are talking about. But the person was referring to the Visa process. (I have also not verified how true it is) For admission, you make photocopies of your originals and legalize those photocopies. Konja44 has also just confirmed what I said |

Thank you bro. I just want to be sure I’m following the right process. One cannot afford to make any mistake considering the cost of the legalisation at the Embassy and d two Ministries. Again, anyone with genuine information as touching the admission and visa process should kindly update us. Especially those that have resumed for the 2019/2020 academic session. I know you guys would probably be busy trying to settle down at the moment. Your guidiance will be really appreciated. Tnx. Good bless y’all. |
