Truly sad. I wont say he made bad choices but rather in America you are dealt a card, depending on your skin colour.

^^^I think he should shoulder the bigger part of the blame for how he eventually turned out....irrespective of what life threw at him! This is America we're talking about and not some poverty-stricken 3rd world country!

The Judge said he was a good boy in school so at least we can deduce that he came from a good home and had positive influences around him as a child! I think the problem may have started when he left school: he may have lost focus and yielded to peer group pressure.....trying to act all gangster and s'hit! This is an all too common pitfall that trips up young black boys! At a certain age kids think they know it all and want to rebel against their parents and constituted authority; especially if they're from single parent homes where the Mum is usually too busy working to provide for the family (possibly the rebels younger siblings)!

All-in-all it's quite sad really!
