hmmm... Trouble!

Someone would soon kick-start a campaign saying he's being persecuted because he is Igbo. Meanwhile the dolts who would eventually fall for this crappy reasoning would not consider the fact that the man actually stole the money from poor Igbo communities.

Firstly, first time offenders are usually treated with lesser punishment. Therefore, the lawyer is not out of order.

Secondly, it should be Nigeria kwenu cos all the governors from 1999 to 2007 were the biggest thieves Nigeria had ever had. Some were lucky to be friends with obasanjo, some were lucky to have media houses that fought for them while a few were just local champions who got caught up.

One could also put it this way; some moved their loot abroad where it can't be traced while other like chimaroke invested his own in Nigeria were they were easily traced for onward prosecution.

Buhari has a lot of work to do to at least bringing all the governors from 1999 to date to Justice!

If he appeals the judgement then he has lost all his ill gotten wealth but if he accepts the judgement then it means that what was taken was just a drop from his pool of ill gotten wealth.

Olabode George was convicted for 2yrs for stealing #100bn of NPA's money and the man didn't appeal the judgement, rather he happily went to jail while keeping his #100bn.

Any time a Nigerian politician forfeits his assets from a court ruling in Nigeria without appealing the judgement then he actually lost nothing because he is just acting out a script directed by efcc and produced by the sitting judge for the entertainment pleasure of the gullible masses who are the audience in the theater of absurdity watching and cheering over nothing.

If this judgement is not appealed by the defendant then this is another fictional movie that is now at the corrupt box office of the efcc ft the judiciary

If the court had acquitted him this halfwit would be among the first to start railing against Buhari.

Same way you dimwits were attributing the Nuclear Plant deal and NNPC claim on refineries starting to work as GEJ's successes but turned around to accuse Buhari of planning to Endanger you with the Plant and apparently now blame Buhari for the failure of the Refineries to start working.

This idiotic rhetoric can only work for a while, let's see how you plan to downplay any future Buhari achievements.
Don't mind the boy and his fellow wailing wailers. When it's convenient for them, they praise Jonathan. They call Buhari names because of the proposed nuclear plants in Kogi and Akwa Ibom states whereas the plan was done during the tenure of Jonathan.

Such sycophancy is sickening that u sometimes wonder if some Tanoids here av any sense at all.
This was a trial that was started way before GEJ assumed power and has ended with these earhshaking forfeitals because the incumbent has through his body language forced everyone to do their jobs properly:from the EFCC to judges and others.
I bet if GEJ had been in power, this man would have found it easy to compromise the EFCC and d judge, many of staff of both agencies have themselves become multimillionaires from striking bargains with offenders under prosecution.
Sometimes replying these people is even a let down on its own because their GEJ arse licking despite all his atrocities, doesn't make sense at all.
The money is Enugu state money, why is d FG collecting it,because of Buhari?

Why are you forfeiting it to the FG? The properties ought to be forfeited to the Enugu state governmen who the money belongs to.

Well, the Court is not a father Christmas and cannot give what is not asked. Effiong v Ekpeyong.

I don't agree. The only reason it appears so is that Obasanjo despite his latter use of EFCC as a vendetta tool, was able to bring these cases to prominence with an effective EFCC.
If EFCC under GEJ had been half as effective,I bet u we would have found that that those governors and ministers under OBJ were learners when compared to those that embezzled under GEJ.

1. The war against corruption must start from somewhere.

2. It is only a dolt that would expect the war on corruption to start from the close friends/associates of the president. Common sense should tell any sane person that the war would more likely start from outsiders.

3. The money was stolen from poor Igbo people and if recovered, the beneficiaries are poor Igbo people. If common sense was common in Nigeria, this should have been a good development. But sadly, our brains were not configured to reason that way.

Why will the assets be forfeited to the federal government when the money embezzled belongs to the government and people of Enugu state?

These assets should be given back to Enugu state so that the people it will used in developing the lives of the good people of Enugu state

Bro! the question is - why only him? is he the only governor that stole from his state? or are u saying that since igbos did not support the incumbent they should be hunted down and humiliated? na! that logic is faulty. for sanitation to hold merit, it has to start from inside - for judgement be fair to all, it has to start from the house. undecided
