Haba!!! Nigerians, are we this stingy??

Just imagine all those houses you are seeing, none of those houses is worth less than 2million. Yet, none can rise-up to the occassion.
Must the government do evrything for them? When you have the resources to better your Life and that of others, why not channel it there and get God's blessing?

They build beautiful houses, yet they have road that will destroy their vehicles.

A little deeds of kindness doesn't go unnoticed.

The World is a Dangerous place not because of the people who are evil but because of people who do NOTHING about it

Guy forget that thing! If those house owners tell you what they have to cough up simply because they want to develop their properties in lekki? You'd understand why many will rather use the money to buy bigger cars that could swim the Atlantic rather than fix this road!
The omonile menace in lekki is one major reason house owners ignore roads leading to their homes.
Kudos to this lady but I tell you in only six months time that effort of hers will be washed away!!! and its back to square one.

Media personality and Vlogger Ariyike Akinbobola did something most won't do. She repaired the bad road leading to her home after waiting endlessly for government to carry out repairs.

that is how every right thinking nigerian should behave, if we stop waiting for government to do everything for us, then nigeria will move faster than it is moving now; back in nigeria, i always made sure the road and drainage in the front of my compound is tarred and in good condition

@ first bolded. Brother, that's Lekki. None of those houses are worth less than N50m(If you're lucky). A 3 bedroom apartment will cost you 5-10m per annum in Lekki. In banana island a 3 bedroom flat is about $100,000 and above per annum.

Nigerians are not in the business of fixing things themselves. If the government can't do it, neither can we.

Some times, when you even attempt to do it the government will ask you not to, just because there are some people investing these allocations in their pot bellies.

There's this bizzare incidence in my own hood, Mosimi in Sagamu area. The redeemed christian church offered to fix the main road but the "elders" of the community asked them to pay 5m before they can start working on it.

Guy, in some parts of Lekki after the residents got tired of waiting for govt, they contributed money and did their own road themselves using interlocking paving stones. That was when NTDA (New Towns Development Authority) and the Lagos State agencies slammed them with funny levies and increased land use charges! angry

Instead of govt to commend them, govt decided to punish them. shocked shocked So, don't blame those who fold their arms and decide to do nothing. They have learnt from the mistakes of others.

In Jakande area of Lekki, where Siverbird Studios is located, the road got dilapidated and unmotorable. Ben Bruce offered to fix it as part of Silverbird Group's CSR effort. The youths and chiefs of the area asked him to first of all pay them 20 million, before he can commence work on the road. The man abandoned the road and relocated his studios to Silverbird Galleria in Victoria Island. Na who be mumu?? undecided

Is that the same Lekki someone was just telling me to buy a plot of land for N30m eqivalent to $145,000. You got to be kidding me, For far less than that you can get yourself a $90,000 house in Charlotte along with a brand new C250 Benz and still have some serious change remaining. Lawd have mercy on that Kosi Kosi Country. Kosi ina, Kosi owo, Kosi omi. Always kosi kosi.

they collect govt allocation for repair and maintenance if the road is repaired, their revenue source stops flowing
if someone comes onto your property to clean or repair without your permission isn't that trespass? same way with government. the roads for for government ad you need the governments permission to repair them.

Is this what you tag repair? Attention seeking punk. So this rubbish deserves to be on Front Page? Many people do this all the time, even tarred with interlocking and they don't make noise. undecided

Nice gesture. STUPID publicity stunt. A man in my area. I know a few men who did same in my area but you won't even know who did it. One did pave stones. The other bought better stones. Won't be surprised if I see pictures of her giving a beggar money.
