Igariwey Enwo, a member of the house of representatives, has instituted a legal action against President Muhammadu Buhari over the N700 billion bailout fund that he approved for states. The lawmaker representing Afikpo north-south federal constituency of Ebonyi state, said Buhari violated the constitution by not consulting the national assembly before approving the grant. The account general of the federation, ministry of finance, Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and auditor general of the federation, were joined in the suit filed at a federal high court in Abuja. The N700 billion bailout funds is tantamount to a Supplementary Budget. The National Assembly were not consulted when pa Buhari dished out billions to states. |
