You are so blinded by ethnicity that you just talk without actually reading , Did you hear yourself, please name 5 igbo movies made in 2015, i dont watch yoruba or hausa movies but i can name 20 each of both. Lemme ask you, how many of your bros children between age 1 to 5 that can speak igbos, im not generalising anything, you just decided to quote me out of hate, take hate out and look at things critically.

i respect igbo culture its still one of the best in Nigeria, im just talking about the low rate at which they export their culture but your hatred wont let you see it.

alphawg:

Do you know the real meaning of the word 'extinction'? And who said there are no igbo movies...
You still made matters worse by your hasty generalisation just because of wat happened in ur church.
Pls stop talking nonsense.

This is very Nice, Igbos have one of the richest cultural heritage in Nigeria and for some reasons they never export these heritage, good to finally see them embracing this culture, i still wonder why we dont have igbo movies , i hope this is a wake up call, if there is any language in Nigeria that stands extinction so fast it the Igbo language, i could remember once we needed to do a program in church that requires children speaking their native language, getting a young Igbo child was a headache we had to use a girl older than that particular age range. yes what you said about Igbo children speaking their language is true but that of movie they have a lot of Igbo movies in the market especially in the eastern states.

Shoulder beads is not part of Igbo accessory. Igbos use head beads, combs, coins etc on the head/hair.

What sort of foolishness is this?? Is it difficult to apperciate other cultures and step aside when you have nothing reasonable to say. I've caught you numerous times making nasty comments about people that don't care about you. If this is your idea of fun then you must be a crazy scumbag!

^^ This is really appalling! Why do you insist on displaying strong anti igbo sentiments in all your comments on this forum. Anybody who goes through your profile can tell that you are a bigot. Apparently, you are only on nairaland to spite Igbo people.
Listen, your brand of humour is vile and negative!
This is a nice cultural thread,i wasn't expecting this sort of sillyness from any Black African.

Well,i understand your point but let me tell you that Igbo is not going into any extinction.
Extinction of igbo maybe in Lagos or Kano but not in South Eastern Nigeria. The research about extinction was conducted far away from the East,so you don't have to apply it to the local speakers in the igbo states. Children that can't speak igbo should be sent back to school in the east. That is what the parents of Nnamdi Azikwe did.
As for movies, there are numerous Igbo language movies all over the place.

are the head beads igbos use similar to the type depicted in the picture of the girls on page 1?
Some Yoruba Subgroups like the Ondos in the pictures below use them, but it is as a result of Bini influence, so I am wondering if the same can be said of some Igbo groups.
