Olofo.

This is what Adesina stated in that same source.

How come Nigeria which only contributes 4% of total raw cocoa production accounted for $10bn?

Keep decieving yourselves.

This is a chart of raw cocoa production which Adesina stated is worth $10bn

Given Nigeria's global market share of 5% and total net worth of finished cocoa products at $200bn, Afesina stated that Nigeria accounted for $10bn of this total finished cocoa products.

So stop distorting the article to spur your deflated egos.

As things stand Nigeria only made $780million from raw cocoa exports.

With an estimated population of 50million in the SW, cocoa added $15 to annual GDP to the SW.

Now compare that to Bayelsa with a population of 800,000 and oil production of 600,000 barrels per day.

Even at $50 per barrel, Bayelsa would have earned $30 per citizen per day and over $12,000 per citizen per year which translates to approximately 3 million naira each for every man, woman, child in Bayelsa.

Now who is the poor waif?

You keep speaking of potential while in the SS we are already one step to realization.

All we need is to leave this useless country

You are living in your fantasy world. My other handle was banned by the spam bot hence the late reply. You said, "Given Nigeria's global market share of 5% and total net worth of finished cocoa products at $200bn, Afesina stated that Nigeria accounted for $10bn of this total finished cocoa products." How is that any different from what I have said? How did I distort the article? $10billion is $10billion. You are the one trying to play word games and trying hard, though unsuccessfully so far, to discredit the contribution of the region. What exactly is your point? ? Which state do you come from? How much does your state contribute to the non-oil economy please? Oil is becoming less and less dependable. What does your state currently contribute to the Nigerian commonwealth besides oil? Since we have already established what the SW does contribute. Am waiting.

Pardon me for seeming obtuse, but how did GLOBAL value of exported raw cocoa become the value of Nigeria's own export?.Does the word global now have another meaning I'm yet to be aware of?.Cos old-school meaning of the world global to me still means the whole world

We are not discussing the anti spam bot flagging your posts as spam because I can some how appreciate why the robot will, what we are discussing is that you and your horde of liars are spreading the very big lie that raw cocoa exports earned Nigeria $10bn.

Even the source you misquoted did not state that Nigerian earned that figure but rather said Nigerian raw cocoa exports which stood at 4% of global supply accounted for $10bn of $200bn processed cocoa industry.

You misquoted Adesina to deceive your gullible Tajus and Mulikats to believe that your region added $10bn when this is not the true picture.

Rubber, Timber, Fisheries, Palm Oil & kernels including their precious cocoa where harvested abundantly in what is present day Delta State.

Oil Palm was once a very valuable commodity as it was used as lighting oil that illuminated Castles and Homes in Europe, Americas and the Caribean.

The advent of electricity saw prices collapse.

Outside cocoa the SW had nothing to offer.

The only reason the British relocated from Calabar to Lagos was because of German Kameroun, the abolution of slave trade and the fall in prices of palm oil.

Relocating the colonial headquarters was necessitated to promote trade along the western coast with French colonies and Lagos was strategically and geographically easier to get into northern Nigeria unlike Calabar port which had to contend with thick mangrove forests and the mamilla high grounds to the north.

The Bourdillion 1939 division of the country into three regions was a curious one. Somehow the Midwest was separated from the original Southern protectorate ie the present day SS/SE, and attached to the alien Lagos colony ie current SW to create Western region.

I believe this was done because the SW cocoa was never going to be enough to keep the Western region financially stable. They needed the wealth of the Mid west.

This parasitism didn't start today,

And must you add Igbo to the Delta?

Hahaha. You Yorubas make me laff.

I too want the oil to crash to zero and for your info we do not intend to sell our oil but rather use it to generate wealth for ourselves.

Adesina pointed out that you could have made $10bn instead of the paltry $750 million if you processed and sold the cocoa as chocolates.

Speaking of drug traffickers Yorubas pioneered drug trafficking in the early 80's.

Even your defacto political leader, Tinubu was convicted in the US for drug trafficking alongside his wife.

Let me do my research on early convicted drug couriers . This will make a good topic to further expose you diabolical criminal ingrates

You can call me whatever you like but that does not in any way change the narrative here.

If you like name me Chukwudi one of your brothers have told me to drink my oil so that just shows how foolish you guys are.

When it comes to ND posters you tread cautiously trying to gain their support but we are not that foolish and when we reject you, you label us igbos.

We know who you Yorubas truly are and the last election should tell you that the ND does not share any political affiliation with you.
