NONSENSE. This is Nigeria and every group has the right to demand for inclusion in the government that they are part of.

Igbos are a major force in the fight for independence. They shouldn't be neglected. You don't neglect a majority.

But if they must, we would survive and be good nonetheless. We only demand for what is just.

After all, federal character is enshrined in our constitution.

You are always found in igbo threads, hater!!!!

My point is this how about if all 300 groups fight for posts??

The bolded makes the most sense. How many Oron men (my tribe) have appointments in even Akwa-Ibom state not to talk of FG?? In fact if I haven't been mentioning my tribe here, how many people here have ever heard of Oron?? It will shock most of you that Akwa-Ibom and Cross river has over 30 ethnic groups btw them but most of you only hear of Ibibio, annag and efik.
So please leave matter.
Nigeria's issues run far beyond "marginalization"

ode there are talking about geopolitical zones and not just tribes. An Igbo man has been appointed GMD NNPC but no one from the SE is yet to be given any appointment.

LET THEM DO SO!!!!

In Nigeria it is all about survival of the fittest. You have to scramble to be represented, nothing bad in it. Else, the abokis will have all available appointments, where as Nigeria is not for them alone.

This thing called "geographical zone" is just for political convenience. In reality, The SS and NC are just toooooooo diverse to be tagged as a people. Too many ethnic groups with very different cultures. As SS people, yes we share that boundary, love for marine, fish, and few other things BUT mehn, I don't see my Akwa-Ibom brothers in the least bit concerned about Kachikwu's appointment. We are not happy and we are not sad, jealous, or whatever. We are just indifferent. Most of you really need to get off NL and social media for a while and visit places to learn more about other groups besides yours. This is why I am a strong advocate pf the NYSC program. I learnt a lot up North you know......

Buhari is a wise man.

Historically Ibos are failures and incompetent when it comes to leadership and ruling. If you review the history of Nigeria we can see that every political setting in which an Ibo man was the decision maker or executive, that office or administration ended in destruction and ruin.

Start from NCNC.
The party was founded and ran successfully by Yorubas as a movement of diverse nationalities opposed to British rule. It ran side by side with other parties and movements founded by Yorubas and Hausas...like AG, NEPU and so on. AG and NEPU were core ethnic and unlike NCNC, you had to be a Yoruba and Hausa, respectively, to join. Ibo did not have a political party or movement. Because NCNC was the only party that admitted all ethnics, it was open for Nnamdi Azikiwe to join. Azikiwe was not the ranking successor after the leader Herbert Macauley but it is claimed that he was by his death bed and Macauley handed him the power of succession.

Soon after Azikiwe turned a party that accepted and treated others fairly into a tribal movement for elevating ethnic Ibos into national prominence. This is how NCNC was hijacked by Ibos. Within a short years they had turned the party into a conduit for rivalry, bitterness and greed for control of national politics. At the end they used NCNC as the bedrock of political turmoil, imbalance and ruin.

An Ibo Agenda
In 1963, Azikiwe in his position as President of the Nation promoted and set a decree that divested Middle Southern territories from the administrative control of Western Region and called it Midwest State. This was done under the pretext that the Midwesterners had called a referendum for independence. In reality, the act was a first stage of a project to concentrate oil producing areas into the hands and control of Ibos.

While it may be true the Midwesterners wanted independence, so were the Ijaws and the riverine Deltans crying and even waging violent assaults to free themselves from domination of Ibos in the East, and likewise the Christian Middlebeltans wanted a divesture away from domination by the Northern Muslims. Azikiwe's decree did not authorize freedom for the other two seekers.

Army Coup
The Ibo coup of 66 was an attempt to push the Ibo agenda further along by eliminating the power base of Midwesterners, Yoruba and Hausa and position itself as the single decision maker and ultimate supreme ruler of Nigeria. The idea of eliminating corrupt politicians was a silly alibi. They assassinated political leaders of Midwest, Western and Northern origins but not a single person of Eastern origin was assassinated. If their exuse of political corruption was correct this would mean no Ibo politician was corrupt. Senior Army Officers of Yoruba origin were included in the target.....forcing one to ask if there was also Military corruption, and if Yorubas were the only ones in the military that were corrupt?

Just as thought, Ibos enthroned their own son as a new leader over the Nation and gave him the title "SUPREME Military Commander". This was the beginning of the open and public declaration of disdain for other ethnic groups and an onset of the sinking of a once promising great nation......ruined by Ibos greed!

The WAR
Following a rejection of its nefarious agenda to impose supremacy and a retaliatory assassinations of targeted Ibo leaders, the Ibos cried they were not wanted in Nigeria and declared to stand alone as a Biafran nation. Following in the example of 63 when a decree divested Midwest, Gowon issued similar decree and divested non-Ibos from Ibos agitating for Biafra. Ten days later Ojukwu planted his Biafran flag in the oil producing Niger Delta in defiance of Gowon and claimed it as Biafra territory. He marched West and planted flag in Benin and claimed it as Biafran territory. This demonstrated practically the end goal of Azikiwe's blueprint as far back as 63 and why Midwest was severed from Western region....Ibo wanted total control of oil producing areas.

If Ondo had been identified back then as an oil producing area, Ondo, clearly a Yoruba land would have been carted off as a Midwestern state in 63.

The Westward march of the Biafrans was repelled and pushed back by Yorubas the moment it was learnt they had stepped boots in Western region.

Again....Biafra could have succeeded if Ojukwu, typical of an Iboman, had not exceeded his limits and had been cognizant of political balances needed in successfully running a state. The greed of the Iboman led to the ruin of his own legitimate fight for freedom. Biafra was thrashed severely and Ojukwu himself absconded.

Post WAR
Azikiwe and his Ibo followers had failed to sustain NCNC or any of its political elements at any level and so he formed a new party NPP in readiness for a new Republic.

The Yorubas on the other hand still had AG in tact and gave it a new brand UPN. NEPU was still intact and so was NPC and the Hausas rebranded them PRP and NPN respectively. When it became clear to Azikiwe that the election would produce a national victory for UPN he cut a deal with NPN for a national alliance to take victory away from UPN. Inspite of this union, UPN won the popular vote and the electoral victory. The issue ended in court and led to an arithmetic debacle over what a 2/3rd of the populatiin was. The alliance got judgement against UPN and ruled the country aground. Until Buhari and Idiagbon intervened to rescue the country.

Lessons Learnt
It became clear and evident to political strategists and leaders that everytime a ruling administration had zero or very minimal Ibos in key positions the country advanced and we progressed. It was further concluded that among Ibos the women are more productive and less destructive than their men.

Whenever an administration is top heavy or had Ibomen in key strategic posts they run government down and ruin everything.

Successive Administrations - From Buhari in 1985 to Buhari in 2015
Except Abacha and Jonathan, every administration had applied the lessons about placing Ibo in their administration. Obasanjo in his wisdom applied the wisdom and leaned to placing Ibowomen than he did with their men.

Jonathan positioned Ibomen and women everywhere he did not place a Northerner. We are living witnesses to the outcome of not applying this lessons learnt.....the country was ruined in all aspects.

Buhari is applying the lessons learnt and we should support him. Ibos can cry all they want, they cannot be trusted with political administrations, not because they are threats but rather that they are risks! If you entrust administration and executive decisiin making to Ibo, he is naturally and habitually reckless, he will wreck it and then shout for all to hear that he is the best performer and administrator in Nigeria. He cant even see his own incompetence.

Ask him what has happened to NPP and APGA and BIAFRA....alk are his own creations...and they are all ruined!

Support Buhari and say no prominent place for Ibobin this administration.

People should start speaking for themselves and stop grouping igbos and what we want and do not want. How did Ihejirika, Okonjo, Osita, Ekweremadu and others appointment affect Igboland if not themselves, there are a lot of igbos who believe in PMB and a stable Nigeria, disregard the rants of these internet hate speakers and see them for who they are, PDP apologists who ve suddenly become freedom fighters. How many of them did anything worthwhile for a brother under Gej, you can doubt whether i am igbo or not, i don't care. PMB will perform and shame all you detractors, i know i can't be deceived all i care to tell some youths buying their sentiments is that this same people bet me under just a year and half will flock to PMB for patronage, most off them cannot survive or maintain that influence they use to lord fellow igbos outside Govt, patronage. For the poor when they will start reaching out and making high powerful lobby for appt, as fed, commissioners and the rest you won't be there, our leaders as we ve them in igbo land have failed us and will keep falling us if we don't embrace good Governance and pray PMB will be able to build a corrupt free society. Stop blaming other tribes blame the rich and corrupt who want the status quo to remain and the poor from all tribes under them and their children.

So far, the Yebooes have been the most antagonistic to this new government right from the first day.
The way they are going about this issue will eventually be counter-productive to the Yiboooe nation. The Ijaws that should be more worried have accepted to lay low but not the Yiboess that saw themselves as the biggest losers from the GEJ's defeat.
