Granted. One must exercise a high sense of responsibility while fathering offsprings. You must take care of their basic needs as well as their moral, spiritual and development needs. If you enjoyed the pleasures of insemination, then you should be prepared for the consequence. Granted.

But we must be mindful of the fact that basic human needs are food, clothing, shelter and procreation. You can't help it. Sex is a basic human need that has been wired into every individual. The only difference is that we have varying degrees of sexual appetite. As such you cannot preclude people from procreation based on income level. While a racist will be wrong to disparage you because of your colour, so it is wrong to discriminate sexual needs based on economic woes.

There is a place in the bible that says 'the poor shall continue to be amongst you'(?). Hence, there's nothing you can do about population explotion Within that demography.

More so, there is an opportunity for the rich and comfortable to give out to the poor. This is part of Christian living.

But I agree again that the intellectually poor (someone who remains financially poor because of his inability to think out a legitimate means of livelihood) should not be condoned. If he must enjoy the pleasure of sex, then he must first work and have reasonable income. So, what is our government doing to improve the lot of Nigerians? Not only should there be utilities for the upper and middle class citizens , but there must be provision of amenities for the poor too.

The problem is not the giving birth to children but giving birth to them in large numbers when they know know they can't afford the upkeep of the children. It's really an eyesore to see :/

The poorest people in Nigeria are breeding more children and increasing their liabilities for others.
A banker told me that their reasoning is that one of their children may survive and succeed to take them out of poverty. But only few have succeeded in the multitudes. So, using innocent children to gamble is wicked.
You see I was born among the poor and now many of the criminals on rampage in Lagos; from Lagos Island to Lagos Mainland are kids who either grew up with me or were born when I was finishing high school in 1980. They either dropped out of school, because of poverty or could not pass their GCE, because their parents could not provide extra tutors for them. Now they have become thorns in the flesh of their families and the rest of us. I have seen two killed as armed robbers. One of them even went to Igbobi College and the other who was his school mate is now among the most dreaded political assassins in Lagos. These boys grew up before my very eyes and resorted to crime in rebellion. But I have not seen any of their school mates from rich families turning to crime. Many graduated from universities and are now very comfortable professionals, because their parents provided for them.
Poverty causes frustration and frustration leads to desperation and rebellion.
That is the vicious circle and this can be checked from the cradle.
If you don't have the regular income to provide the basic needs for children, don't have them.
Vulnerable adults should not have children where there is no social security welfare for poor people.
Now you can see why Nigeria has more than 10 million boys and girls out of school, which is the worst record in the world, They are children of the poor who cannot afford to send them to school.
Now they are now having baby factories and selling their babies for as little as N100, 000.

Then when they come with their liabilities, the churches and mosques cannot help them.

The sad part of this is almost all of these methods are provided FREE OF CHARGE in most health facilities. Yet these people refuse. Where I work, you see an okada rider having [size=20pt]NINE CHILDREN[/size] (no exaggeration), out of which only two are in school. And guess what? The wife (petty trader) is currently pregnant with the TENTH!!!!!!!

Honestly we should start considering forced sterilization. Or something close to the one child policy of China

You cannot even feed well and don't really have any comfortable place to lay your head and yet you will get pregnant and bring an innocent child into a horrible environment to suffer abject poverty.

Then you begin to harass others to help you feed, pay house rent and pay school fess for the poor child or children who never asked to be born poor.

The most heart breaking plight of the poor for me is the pathetic sight of their miserable looking children in the slums.
They are just suffering the misery of the abject poverty of their intellectually re-tarded parents who breed children they cannot feed.
Majority of these poor children grow up with frustrations and often drop out of school, because their parents cannot afford to send them to secondary school or higher institutions. The females among them end up as housemaids and prostitutes while the males become antisocial miscreants, touts, thugs and outright criminals in their desperation to get out of poverty by all means and at all costs. And they often unleash their anger on innocent people they attack, rob and even kill every day in different crimes.
These are the causes of the delinquencies and crimes plaguing our society today.

The rest of the poor continue to breed children they cannot feed and continue to worsen the socioeconomic and sociopolitical consequences of their terrible mistakes.
How many children of the political leaders are political thugs used and wasted in bloody political riots?
How many children of the ruling class have you seen paraded as criminals by the police?
How many of them are used for housemaids or sex trafficking?

Can you please, sit down and think twice in that your hovel and think first about how to get out of poverty before getting pregnant and bringing another innocent child into this world to suffer the nightmares and ravages of your precarious life in a world that is a battlefield?

How can you be happy and sane to breed like dogs and bring children into the world to live like dogs?

Please, don't preach any sermon on children who were born poor and later became millionaires or billionaires?
How many of them got lucky?
How many of them got benefactors and sponsors?
Only an insignificant few and that is why more than 6 billion of the over 7 billion people in the world are miserable poor masses still suffering and dying in poverty.
Poverty will end when poor people stop worsening the state of poverty by having children in horrible and miserable living conditions.

Innocent children should not be born to suffer poverty.
There are more than enough nightmares in the world today, please don't increase them.
