Why are we failing this simple question my fellow nairalanders including those in higher institution...pls for clarity sake, the answer is 6.from bodmas, u do ur multiplication b4 addition and finally subtraction..
from the given equation,
3+(3*3)-(3+3)= (3+9)-(6)
=12-6=6

Step 1: Multiply 3 by 3 first. This gives nine
Step 2: Add it to the 3. I.E. 9 plus 3. This Gives you 12
Step 3: On the Other side add 3 plus 3. This gives 6
Step four: Now subtract the 6 from 12.
Answer = 12 (QED)

this is a pure example of Sabi Sabi. Others just gave simple answer like 12,6 but u decided to go further buy solving useless mathematics in public. Common 12-6,u no know. After quoting bombs, u still left the mas behind.

Using BODMAS only means you treat any figure(s) first, in tha mathematical equation there is no bracket.

There isn't any BODMAS rule that allows you to introduce ()...

You have modified the rule o! Division and Multiplication have a higher precedence than Addition and Subtraction. You solve the Multiplication and division before addition or Subtraction. If however only Multiplication or division are involved, you solve from left to right. If Multiplication occurs before division while moving from left to right you do d Multiplication first before the division. Same holds for addition and Subtraction.

Solving from L-R
3+3*3-3+3=3+9-3+3 (Multiplication has highest precedence
Since addition and Subtraction have the same precedence we solve from left to right
3+9-3+3=12-3+3
12-3+3=9+3
9+3=12

If you do mathematics for a living you have been wasting your employers time. Multiplication is a binary operator so it takes the immediate operands surrounding it, in this case it is 3 on both sides.
