nonsense why did they even approve polytechnic since they know that they will be discrimination even university cannot accommodate all the people seeking admission look at unilag which country take jamb and post ume just to enter university still there school is 100times better than ours so we are the once causing our problems 1 Like |

Let the Polytechnics also make their cut off marks equal wit that of universities. Also, let the Polytechnic lecturers become Professors and earn their Doctorate Degrees. Not that one Mr Asomugba who doesn't have a Doctorate Degree would start awarding Degrees. 7 Likes |

You cant award degrees when your infrastructures and facilities are not standard. Students need a decent learning environment (am not saying polys ain't decent). Nigeria cant have Hundreds of institutions that provide millions of graduates every year who walk around the streets all day job hunting. ASUP should raise a motion for the government to provide more job opportunities for our graduates and also standardize our learning environment (University & Polytechnics) before they can start talking about awarding degrees. Most of our fathers and the fathers before them all attended government owned schools but the parents of nowadays (especially politicians) won't even allow their children school in Nigeria talk more of attending public schools. There is a reason why polytechnic and university are created. All have advantages and disadvantages. Do you know that Diploma/HND get work easily than Degree ? If you want degree go to university If you want HND go to polytechnic Nowhere in this world HND=Degree 2 Likes |
