Yes, I withdraw reas with GTB naira mastercard. Other Nigerian denominated mastercards might work too. The issue with naira mastercards now is the limit. As at 2019 and early 2020, the limit was higher so I could withdraw as much reas as I needed.

With the spending limit, you can limit your naira mastercard to minor POS purchases only while you use your dollar card for major withdrawals.

Also, when you want to use POS and they ask “Debito ou Credito”. You need to respond “Credito” even though our cards have “Debit” written on them.

Thank you so much. This information is very handy.

Hello,

Please I will like to confirm if the embassy has started granting visa for childbirth in Brazil.

Also, with people currently there, is it safe to travel down for childbirth this present time due to the COVID-19.

I am just about applying for a birth visa and I want to be enlightened.

Thank you

No. The embassy is closed till further notice. And there is no such thing as visa for childbirth or birth visa in Brazil.

Also, with people currently there, is it safe to travel down for childbirth this present time due to the COVID-19.

No, it is not safe. Covid-19 is ravaging the whole world right now and Brazil is even hit the more as a new variant has been found there.

I am just about applying for a birth visa and I want to be enlightened.

Thank you

Good day everyone.

My message is specifically to those already in Brazil. Please how have you been coping in terms of survival and what type of jobs are available for someone to do to earn little money while one is waiting to get the Brazilian passport after one year of being in the country.

I don’t assume one will be home sitting down idle on a daily basis for that one year.

Thanks

What can I use as proof of residencial address in Brazil. I have tried everything I can. My host does not want to put is electricity bill in my name, Policia Federal rejected the bill I used as proof of address because it doesn't bear my name. Can I use my hospital bill, Phone post paid contract Agreement, moneygram receipts. I do not want to be sent back anymore. Please advise

If you have your PR, you are free to run a business. If you want some kind of job, mostly technical, there is an agency that Empowers youth with some technical trainings and certification which you can use to get jobs or establish yourself

You just failed to tell the truth, that Brazil is currently in recession and thousands of white Brazilians are immigrating to Portugal, while the country is plunged into crime, devastated by the covid, and the unemployment rate. You want to compete with Brazilians for a job vacancy, in fact, as bad as it is to live in Nigeria, we have a much lower unemployment rate than theirs.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/263711/unemployment-rate-in-brazil/
https://www.statista.com/statistics/382366/unemployment-rate-in-nigeria/
Imagine, then, for an African immigrant who is not fluent in Portuguese, looking for a job there.
Someone here is not telling the truth of the difficulty in emigrating to Brazil. Looks like so simple, and it's not.
Your graduation has no value there until it is revalidated. Revalidation is expensive, and few foreigners manage to pass.
Your work experience does not count, because what they consider is what they call "carteira de trabalho", if your "carteira de trabalho" is empty, they will not give you a job, not to mention that you will be competing with a Brazilian for employment, because a large part of the population are currently unemployed, and the situation tends to worsen with the covid. Anyway for who wants to try this crazy idea, good luck.

The same statista that says the unemployment rate in Niger is 0.4 percent even less than the USA. I would take anything African there with a grain of salt. Nigeria's real unemployment rate is over 90 percent. Menial jobs are hard to get in Brazil but not skilled jobs. Brazil Is a highly industrialised nation that is always in need of skilled people. Had an interview with globant last year a top Brazilian company but I never scaled through or I would have been sponsored from Nigeria to come work there.

Imagine statista saying Nigeria has an unemployment rate of 8 percent grin cheesy cheesy. Gosh.

We're to believe that a top ten global economy (pre-Covid19 and current situation) has a higher unemployment rate than Nigeria - home to more poor people than anywhere else in the world?

Top ten global economy is nothing. GDP per capita is what matters. GDP growth is a waste of time.
Their unemployment rate is more high than ours, believe or not, do u know how to use the formula?

Do you really think that you are going to travel to a country that is not rich, without being fluent in their language, and are going to get a job? Sincerely, it would be very difficult to find a job, even if it is to wash bathrooms.
Want to emigrate? I advise: Mexico (its a good choose, there are many companies that need english speakers, and its close to USA and Canada).

Looks like a amount of fake news here.
You guys want to create a Nigerian community in a poor country, but lets be honest.
Brazil is made up of different nationalities, nobody cares if you are poor. The favelas face the luxury condominiums, as a sign that the poor will not prosper, imagine the black immigrants.

Do not forget that in Brazil, if you are black, you will hardly get a job. The police there won't take it easy on you, they don't like black people. If Europeans don't like Africans, they at least don't kill us, in Brazil it's different, most of the violence is over black people. Brazilian prisons, favelas, and the poorest regions concentrate the black afro population. While the wealthiest parts of the city are frequented by white Europeans. Do you really have any hope for a place like that?

"... As the overall homicide rate registered in Brazil has been rising, the number of homicides per 100,000 afro and pardo brazilians also increased from 32.42 in 2006 to 43.15 in 2017, whereas the number of homicides per 100,000 for white and asian brazilians has decreased from 17.12 in 2006 to 15.97 recorded in 2017. But it's not whites or Asians killing blacks in Brazil it's fellow blacks. Even in the USA black on black crime rates are much higher than white on black crime that's if such even exist. Brazil regardless of its problems is better than all countries in Africa.

Not entirely true. GDP matters, per capita matters and HDI also matter. If we're to judge by only per capita income, then Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Botswana should be some of the best places to reside in Africa and low unemployment (pre-Covid19). Unfortunately, Brazil's unemployment rate has ballooned due to mismanagement of Covid-19 and bureaucracies across the public sector.

Do you live in Brazil? Is your submission based on practical evidencial facts or from theoretical research? I would not argue with you. I am just few months in Brazil and open to learning but I got my information from friends and family living here. Infact, a friend runs a salon here and she boasts that she is doing well. I have also seen brazilians patronize her business. I ran accoss another friend of a friend who owns a shop here and he is very okay. I know another who imports toys from US and other places and his shop is always busy. I gave my advice based on what those who live here told me, including an executive in the Nigeria community forum. My assertion is open to verification. Thanks

I think it's best to ignore that guy. All his post on nairaland is on this thread and they are against everything the thread is about so you can see through the post to know who really is behind it.

You dey Brazil dey see how e be and can tell if he's truthful.

They are trying to kill the thread and they are very happy as the embassy is on break. Just ignore their post and continue your reality

My brother lives in Brazil (many years) All I sabi is not speculation. Why do you want to criticize me? Prove to people here that you are doing well in Brazil, that you got a job, show pictures of your "carteira de trabalho" signed by some company. You mean I'm lying, so prove that you're telling the truth. Show us. Abi?
Do you want my opinion? Listen well well If I could choose between Brazil and Mexico I would choose Mexico, because if everything went wrong in getting a job. At least I would enter USA / Canada.

What you don’t say to people who want to have children in Brazil? You don’t talk about the difficulty in getting a job, you don’t talk about violence, you don’t talk about the class division that exists in Brazil between Whites and Blacks and how it makes hard to get a job, you don't talk about covid, you don't talk about prejudice, you don't talk about the importance of speaking Portuguese, you don't talk about unemployment, and you don't talk about the economic crisis.

you guys are only concerned with your ego.

You don't have to take me seriously, I also don't take you seriously, did you show any information that helps people to live in Brazil? or just talk about what you don't know?
You can hate me, but the people here will search much more than before, they will be much more prepared for some aspects, opening the possibility of integrating, knowing where they are stepping.
And not as a child who thinks that Brazil is carnival, food and happy people.

I don't see anything wrong with what I said before, I'm not in favor of immigrating to another country just to get a passport, it's ridiculous. However I respect those who go to live and seek a better life. The opportunity to immigrate should be a human right.
If you really want to immigrate, You need to do it right. My brother married a Brazilian, he did not break any law or even a breach.

About lies:
Show us true information, not fallacies, or fantasies of someone who is going to live in a country that has enslaved thousands of Africans and has it at its root until today.
Discuss real information. Price of rent, possibilites of job, how to live, violence, cities, prejudice, and more. But you don't say anything deeply. Example: industrial hubs (which, where, company names), English schools, and contacts for work.
You just say general information like. Brazil is a country with a large industry, a lie, in the north there will not be, nor in the northeast, nor in the midwest. you hate me? pretend i'm not here. CYA.

It is as it were, nothing yet. Daily infection and death rates are hovering around 50k plus and 1k plus respectively and this is not helping the matter as no lockdown measures are in place in majority of the cities in Brazil. Vaccination drive is also slow and have been suspended in most states for lack of supplies. Raw materials for producing vaccines in-country are yet to be supplied. All these are making it the more difficult to even think the embassy will open for operation anytime soon except something changes drastically in the near future.

keep editing ur post u bloody liar .. ur brother is married to a Brazilian why doesn't he relocate back to Nigeria if life is that hard 4 him? that he is a failure doesn't mean everyone is!! you get me? next time send ur brother to deliver ur message personally to bolsonaro himself instead of sending mails to the F. P, I am not ur brother I am not a child, you're not bank rolling anyone here so swerve,i can decide to move to Brazil tomorrow & enjoy my money I won't have to work if I don't want to so to hell with you and your brother...dont ever quote me again

I liked your post. Nice reply.

I wish everyone will ignore him and his brother tales though.

He said he likes Mexico but he's not in Mexico thread telling the pros so that everyone will know what he knows so that they can be guided but he will be here with his negative noise.

He talks about learning Portuguese in Brazil then picks Mexico like it's an English country. Funny guy

Today, I took my daughter to the Posto de Saude (Health Center) for her 3 Month shot and at the entrance to the street, we met with the Civil Police and some traffic gridlock. On enquiry, I learnt that the elderly people were having their covid vaccines. Didn't know Brazil has a lot of old people. Come and see them queuing up for their turns to be vaccinated. On each person's turn, the nurse would show them the liquid solution and get their nod before injecting them. We were attended to because today was baby' s vaccination date. #Good system #good quality of life#many reasons I feel safer in Brazil

Who really cares about his negative rants?

Bar embassy not opening to public, someone like me would have picked up my family's visas and moved to Brazil.

Best to completely ignore the guy and deprive him of the attention he so seeks!
