As the delegates file out on Tuesday to vote in the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress, Bayelsa State, Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, has warned aspirants against cloning of the Permanent Voter Cards.
Oshiomole gave the warning on Monday evening in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, during a meeting with the 19 governorship contenders for the party’s ticket and stakeholders.
The governor, who led a seven-man APC electoral committee to the meeting, warned that perpetrators of cloning will be arrested by security agencies.
He announced Samson Siasia Sports Complex as venue of the primary, adding that and open ballot system of voting would be adopted.
Oshiomhole said, “The party will deploy the use of card readers to authenticate the PVCs presented by delegates.
“If anyone is involved in cloning, we will ensure they are arrested. Cloning of cards is a criminal offence. The sponsors of such act and those caught with the cloned cards would be arrested.”
He said the rules of the conduct of the party primary would not be different from those used in Kogi and the national primaries of the party.
