Don't take into considering the circumstances surrounding the [death] of our first lady afterall Chief Deprieye Alamieyeseigha is still alive; what is your opinion?
Re: Would You Risk Plastic Surgery to Improve Your Looks? by vexxy(f): 7:14pm On Oct 27, 2005
No. I would never risk plastic surgery to improve my looks.

1. I have no problems with the way I look
2. I don't like the thought of someone slicing my flesh to insert something unnatural
3. It's too expensive!
Re: Would You Risk Plastic Surgery to Improve Your Looks? by Seun(m): 7:21pm On Oct 27, 2005
Some forms of cosmetic surgery also have health benefits. Liposuction, for example, removes fat from your body which I suppose should make you healthier (not to talk happier). If there's a really serious problem and I have the money to pay for an operation, I think Ill do it.

You can also remove excess fat from your body by eating healthy and exercising regularly. You want to make sure you get into the good habits of doing these things.

It can be easy for one to get liposuction and regain all of the lost weight.

Seeing that i can't help but be so worked up and nervous when i need to take a shot, my answer would be a capital no. I can't stand pain in any way or form, even takin out a tooth was hell not to talk about plastic kini, that's a major no-no for moi.

Nor would I, if I were you wink ... Actually, even not being you, I have no problems with the way I look, so I concur

2. I don't like the thought of someone slicing my flesh to insert something unnatural
That's a little irrational, isn't it? We go through unnatural things all the time, e.g. would you consider a cesarean section or an epidural during labour? Both of these procedures are very unnatural

vexxy:

3. It's too expensive!
Indeed, that alone would set me off , it's not covered by my ordinary health insurance, nor by my hospitalization insurance and paying the full price for a medical procedure is just insane if it's not strictly necessary

plastic surgery was originally intended for war victims
soldiers who have been maimed, terribly injured
but today even normal people have plastic surgery.

You're quite right, Mr. Nferyn. What I mean by my statement was silicone in my breasts (or any other part), colligen in my face (or any other part) and the like.

I would consider both of those options mentioned above if it were to come to that. Epidural for pain and c-section if the child is in danger. But none of those things are considered to be plastic surgery. cheesy

at a point i so wanted to have surgery to reduce something but i really dont think i can do it. the mere sight of a needle makes me weak all over. i just cant do it. i've come to accept myself the way i am, flaws and all. God made me this way for a purpose. moreso, what's the guarantee that when i get 1 surgery done, i wont find yet another flaw and want that corrected as well. or worse, what if they make a mistake and its worse than before, or there's a leak or rupture or disfiguration (i watch these reality shows and they're quite scary). i dont think i can live with that at all.

I agree with the above so l don't need plastic surgery to improve my look. Come to think of it, why would anyone want to improve on what the Almighty God has done.
Re: Would You Risk Plastic Surgery to Improve Your Looks? by blackboy(m): 1:55pm On Oct 31, 2005
Sure plastic surgery does impove looks. It's your own way of deciding how you want to look like. It's called freedom, called choice.

Can the celebrities be wrong? Nah. Don't we admire Britney? Janet Jackson? So mention a few. Please let's be real. Imagine not cutting your nails, hair (no perming) in the name of trying to be natural). I beg!

What Seun said made sense! If it is to reverse a serious health condition, i could consider it! Removal of excess fat is not a bad idea for very fat & unhealthy people!

However, what i would do is to ensure that i never get that fat!

So are you guys telling me that in a situation were one is involved in a fatal motor accident, that disfigures ones body, none of you will consider the option of plastic surgery that could make you beautiful again?

I consider reconstructive surgery and GP (general purpose) plastic surgery two different things.

Being in a auto accident and needing reconstructive surgery is different from saying, "Hum, I want bigger breasts or a smaller nose."

Also, there are many ways one can trim down fat as opposed to surgery. I agree that if you are at the point of serious health risks, by all means do the surgery and start taking care of yourself.
