hmm. but there are 'peaceful' things that God abhors also. E.g sex.

sex is peaceful and it is in 'any language', but yet God still detest it
Hmmm... Wrong notion!

Sex is a beautiful gift created by God for a man and a woman that have vowed to spend the rest of their earthly lives with one another. Sex is met to be enjoyed...
It is only a sin when it is pre-marital or extra-marital sex!

As a child of God, we deserve the best from life. Exercising ourselves and coming together or sharing with each other or inviting people to Christ through football should not be regarded as sin...

Football and sex are not sin if properly managed!

Yes! Yes! Yes!
Imagine how happy it makes people to play and watch
From there really talented but poor youth can be targeted for sponsorship (education, business, professional football etc)
A church actually can get and put to good use all the collections it gets...instead of lipsrsealed

It is actually super cool cool
Great idea
I laikke it!!!

l plead with you in the name of the Lord to jettison your idea it is inspiration from hell. l used to love football until one day the Lord showed me how deep He detests football in the church or church getting involved. In addition He frown at TV stations own by churches from showing it. He said worldly news casting in these stations also infuriate Him. Please always ask Holy Spirit before you introduce anything to the church.

Shalom.
OMG Seriously!! U religious fanatics are something else. First and foremost churches are meant to be a gathering of like minds to worship God. So it doesn't matter if u r playing soccer or playing chess as far as u don't deviate from ur core beliefs then wahala no dey. But to say God warned u about it I think u need to revisit and ask well

I think its a great idea and a lot of churches have football/sports units and they are still spiritually strong. .sports can also be a way of unifying our churches

Why not?

Churches in Nigeria are rich today as government institutions continue ti fail the citizens.

Why not if churches can make Nigeria football regain its old glory - the days of Enugu Rangers, Stationary stores of Lagos, Mighty Jets of Jos (it could hardly lose a game without putting up a funny gang-fight), Kano Pillars, el-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri ( have warriors continue to come from Maiduguri?), Sharks of Portharcourt, the gallant Bendel Insurance, name them.

I have the privilege of being a Youth executive in my Church. And since I enamour football, I have been thinking of initiating and establishing a football group, were we can train and organise friendly matches with other Churches as well.

But I feel skeptical about this innovation because it is unbiblical. Thus, it may be unacceptable to God.

So I am don't know if it is really right to proceed with the idea.

Please I need your advise. Your contributions will be well appreciated.

The reason you are skeptical is that you are ignorant. Ask yourself; what has sport, in this case football, have anything to do with the bible?
