It seems that many Nigerians have bought into the notion of one man, one wife and 60% of a poll conducted by Pulse News voters are of this view. In our poll to sample the opinions of readers, it was discovered that out of the votes, 90% were women who feel they would not share their husbands with another woman.

85% were Christians while a mere 12% were men. Of the 40% that voted that there is nothing wrong with polygamy, 87% were men, 92% were Muslims while only 6% of women agreed that there is nothing wrong with polygamy. To better appreciate the poser for the poll, it is as follows....

Is there anything wrong with polygamy? How Nigeria voted:

60% - Yes, it is better for a man to marry one wife

40% - No, it is not wrong if the man can take care of them

Considering these fact, do you really think their is something wrong with polygamy? I beg to differ. Forget about all those nonsense that Nollywood movies use to portray, and all the information we have had recently and in the past. The thing is if you don't keep an open mind, you wouldn't understand what you are ought to understand.

Our great grand fathers had polygamous families and our fathers didn't turn out bad. Until you take your time and study some subject matters, you will not appreciate the impact. Up until recently, i thought that there was three wise men who visited Marry when Jesus was born, which is what they thought us during the school days but i urge you to go read that place in the bible, you will understand that it wasn't three wise men, but the men that came to visit Marry bore three gift (gold, frankincense and meer). Ten men could have brought three gifts or two men could have brought it two. But definitely not three men because the bible didn't say so, we just assumed.

If you understand my point, what do you then think of polygamy? Bear in mind that Solomon was the man after God's heart. God said it himself. So do the math. How would you vote? Polygamy is not a good thing in my own opinion,especially for an average family,it breeds chaos,misunderstanding,jealousy and most times the children are at the recieving end...considering the economy of Nigeria now,polygamy is really dealing with a lot of families in it,Op u cant compare the present day Nigeria with what our forefathers had
