That's the problem I always have with these guys, no street orientation, they just sit in the office and draft policies.
In my hood the cheapest fare on an Okada starts from ₦150., the standard is ₦200. The distance must be very short for them to take ₦100.

A brand new car to come to your PU and drop you for ₦350. Unbelievable!
I think they will soon leave that's why they called it UberGo, next one will be UberIsGoing then after that UberIsGone. Annoying people

Few days ago I try to bike after a while, this same place I go on #200, I was at the bus stop for 5mins all the okadas insist on 300# they even start with 400 and I will say 200 then they go to 300 and zoom off. Fare gone up on bike too
I on bolt app and saw
Coprate 600-700
Bolt 600.
I felt so cheated. It’s actually cheaper to take bolt if we are two persons or I’m on promo, cause the 600 will be 300, yet surge as disappeared and you see 4 adults squeezing in side car

I dey tell you. As kids, we had huge respect for that car then. Moreover, very few folks had personal cars. Meaning you had to be a decent salary earner / business owner to buy one. Most times, as kids we dey beg our friend ( one of Mr Basil's sons) make we just touch the motor. And Wen we do, we fit no wash that hand again throughout that day cos we go dey happy. Chia, good old days. If I have a second chance to 'return ", I'll gladly do it. Not this present time that's full of pain- if no b Boko Haram to bandits, e go b Fulani herdsmen to police wahala or Las Las, bolt and uber go block bcoz of rating.

Hmm... You just took me backnto memory lane.

Very well, my friend. I suggest you get a functional dashboard camera. In as much as it's present, it will greatly limit such illegal harassments as it'll serve as evidence. In fact, here in the FCT,
they let you go in as much as you're on the right side of the law or else, the victim will move the issue to a radio programme called Brekete Family Show (no one wants to be on that show when you're on the wrong side of the law). You may not be lucky next time.

N1.7m for a tokumbo Prius is still cheaper than its Corolla counterpart and of course the only reason why people sell off their Prius is MOSTLY because it’s having electrical issues not engine or suspension or gearbox etc problems.

Auto electrical issues though daunting can be troubleshooted by a competent mechanic who knows his onions.

That 2010 and above Prius is overkill for Uber here. I’d do an older model first even if it might come with slightly degraded batteries

The bolded is the main reason most people are not buying because no competent mechanic or electrician that can easily pin point a simple issue when problem arises.

Also, since demand is low due to the above reason no dealer is also ready to stock his money unless he's doing it for future purpose, say 5yrs time then sell at a higher price when demands start increasing but not a wise thing to even do because you never can tell what this stupid Nigeria govt is capable of do in 5yrs time.

your gear oil is overheating. change it with an original oem brand asap.

and for other drivers in the house, if you know you want to use your car for uber for up to 2 years steadily and not have to worry about your gearbox solenoids and lubrication for that period and far longer than that then i suggest you invest in an EXTERNAL GEARBOX OIL COOLER and maybe an extra mini fan for it for those times your are stuck in traffic for hours.

And what is this "external gear oil coolant you talked about? How is it applied?

and how can you book someone ₦50,000 for obstruction, that's not the right fine.

I was even thinking some days ago... Can't the FG just adopt this LASMA agency, open an Academy, enroll new intake, train them for 5yrs then post them every state accordingly? This Will generate thousands of jobs for Nigeria at large and the LASMA as an institution will be a professiona paramilitary group.

But this our yeye legislators will never think right for once

The day some women did it to me I vowed never to go on short trips with more than 2 passengers ever again.

You can imagine 4 passenger on a 2.8km distance that I did 2.5km PU. I was mad when I calculated the cost they would have paid had they use bike but me with AC got 4h which is 6h less had they used a bike. Really sad menh.

Abuja and fake life

Picked up this well dressed dude from an estate. From the first minute he was on the phone. “Police have recovered my 300 million. They took 7m. No, they said they will credit me in few days”.

Another call entered. “Please hold on for me I’m still expecting 10m from the ministry. Ok send your account number let me credit you something after I’m done with my meeting.”

Calls after calls and my ear buds were full with millions of naira, almost totaling half a billion.

Trip ended after 40 minutes and his fare was 2900. I expected 5k from the billionaire.

“Omg! How comes? It was 2000 when my wife booked. Na wa o! this bolt sabi embarrass person.

“Oga do transfer.”

“I have just 1800 in my account plus this 200 naira I’m holding.” He showed me his account balance. 1800.20 exactly.

I just weak for kidney.

Person wey no gree me rest with hundreds of million naira phone conversations all through the trip.

“Oya what do we do now for my balance of 900?”

He begged me to wait, entered the plaza and spent 20 minutes. Then he requested I take him offline to another location.

Got to destination 2 and had to wait another 20 minutes so that he could “obtain” my cash from his “client”.

Well, he paid for my time because I drummed it into his rich ears that every minute of my waiting time is equal to cash that he must pay for.

It is well with us o.

And what is this "external gear oil coolant you talked about? How is it applied?

It isn’t a coolant sir. It is an automatic transmission external oil cooler. Something like a small mini radiator in front of your engine which cools your gearbox oil.

The number one killer of automatic gearboxes is an overheating transmission oil, followed by driving with a low level transmission fluid. The instances where your transmission fluid could overheat is when you’re towing (that is why big trucks and suvs like Ford F-150 have them installed from factory) or when you live in a hot climate and spend time moving upandan mostly in slow traffic then maybe if you have a history of an overheating engine (if your transmission fluid hoses were linked to your cars radiator for cooling or warming purposes from factor like most 4cyl honda vehicles).

Keeping your transmission fluid warm at a moderate temperature is good for proper functioning of the many gearbox components and it ensures you have proper shifts. An overheating fluid damages the fluid properties and degrades it so much so that it starts to affect your clutches thereby making you have harsh shifts between gears or ultimately a slipping gearbox.

Below are pictures of mounting ideas for an external transmission fluid cooler and the cooler itself. These are for those who wish to mount theirs with an extra cooling fan (good for cooling off your fluids in long and stressful traffic holdups where you leave your vehicle running with ac on like for Uber). You can mount yours without a fan but I’d recommend a fan just to be sure you have your transmission happy all the time.

Good morning house . It's no longer news that Bolt now charge a "booking fee".

It's been the topic of discuss across e-hailing platform for the past few days and it's still on going. The issue here is that there has not been any official statement from Bolt as to on whose account the booking fee is charged from. Please, I urge this house (every member) to do a mail to bolt on this matter . We need a clear official statement from Bolt as to who pays the "booking fee" and what exactly is booking fee for? Remember we already pay 20% commission deducted from us in every trip.

Please let's make this matter a priority today.

Thank you

As a potential prospective e-hailer, I actually like the idea of this UberGo I’m just now hearing about. It does sound convenient for those that want to do this part-time and not have to drive too far.

The idea of driving within an area does sound cool, but I’m sure the customers would want to take advantage of it.

From a customers point of view when I open the Uber App, it seems implicit that the UberGo is meant for less than 4 passengers, while it’s explicitly stated that UberX is for 4 passengers. However, going by all the info on this thread of passenger privilege abuse, one could extrapolate to the case of this new UberGo, in the sense that riders might still want to pack themselves and load into a drivers vehicle, lol.

Why pay for an UberX, when for half the price, I and my buddies could roll with the UberGo?

I guess it would be up to the driver to set STRICT rules, with regards to the amount of passengers allowed in their vehicles, i.e, “riders < 4” + no load.
