Dear Sir,
Reminder: Reconsideration of final year result September 2010 stepdown.
On the above subject matter and our letter dated 17th November, 2012, 4th February, 2013, 4th April, 22nd July, 2013 refers respectively.
We write to remind the Senate Council, University of Ilorin that despite our letters and publications both on the Nations Newspaper and The Sun dated on July 18th (page 36) and October 15th (page 31) 2013 respectively, we are yet to receive any favourable response from your office.
We still honestly believe that we have a genuine case that should be revisited by your humbled office. We subsequently appeal to you sir to use your good office to see that our case is given the necessary attention deserved in the interest of justice which University of Ilorin is noted for.
Recently, we recorded another victim; which was one of the affected student after he tried all effort to obtain his result from University of Ilorin, but all effort proved abortive, after series of tests, it was confirmed that he poisoned himself, and this is believed to be as a result of his state of mind (depression) which was a result o what befell him in the University of Ilorin.
Many of us, our faith are still hanging in the balance.
Recently, another incident occurred which triggered us to move to media house for publication, one of us who was also affected, who was also barred from graduating, was caught in an attempt to commit suicide, and later admitted for rehabilitation.
Late Adewole Michael, a student of mathematics a sole sponsors of his own educational career, still managed to sponsor himself throughout the years spent in the institution, after spending six years in the department and extra three years hanging in balance, he was caught hanging himself in the room, the deceased tried all effort to correct the situation, but the Senate Council of the above institution refused to get him off the hook.
We kindly urge you sir as the Chief Principal Officer of the institution and pursuant to the exercise of objects and power upon which the institution was established. That is; “to encourage the advancement of learning and to hold out to all persons without distinction of race, creed, sex or political conviction, the opportunity of acquiring a higher and liberal education.
Sir, in lieu of this we want to use these great opportunity to plead that you should please reconsider our final year result, so that the remaining of us affected can be useful to life and to the society at large and the years spent would not be a waste.
We plead that the Senate Council should please pardon the affected students and be granted amnesty and considered the CGPA.
We would be glad if our plea is considered.
