actually the appeal court ruling is in Saraki favour because he filed the suit against the CCT.
For as long as the court hasn't given any judgement, the CCT cant touch him

This is good, good that I am beggining to see credible contribution nd comments to political issues of the state from the youth. The truth is that if we continue making biased judgements in these matters, calling ourselves future leaders would be self deception

From my understanding, it's only Amaechi and Shittu that are billed to be screened. Those in the second batch will be determined later. Nothing stops Amaechi and Shittu from being screened and confirmed on Tuesday.
no senate said Amaechi and Shittu will join the 2nd batch. 9 to be screened today and 9 tomorrow. Confirmation will be tomorrow

I doubt he has to be in court physically since his plea has been taken.
His lawyer(s) can represent him

Not true. This is a criminal trial, the presence of the accused person is indispensable.

However, he can seek an adjournment to enable him handle a pressing national assignment.

election petition are criminal. Secondly, no law in Nigeria mandates an accused to be in court after the writs have been exchanged except to give evidence of which he can refuse and remain silent. Compelling him to appear in court is a violation of section 41 of the constitution.
I hate to say this but its apparent you are either a student or a quack. If you are a lawyer then there is a big problem because you will deliberately lead your Clients' to a blind alley. Nairalanders beware. Since you are audacious I have a duty to alert every one on this forum not to take you seriously. I have put in 15 solid years in this profession to the glory of God. Are there other lawyers in this forum? This guy needs to be put in check!

Wrong! Completely wrong!. He has to continue to attend CCT session until the appeal is ruled in his favour.

I'm begining to see it this way. But you must also remember that while the case is before court of appeal , the CCT can continue to perform their constitutional duty .

Writs are originating processes in civil suit. Your post above shows you did not read law anywhere, not even on the pages of newspapers.

if u really are a lawyer then you ought to desist from name calling. You merely correct if it's wrong and as a gentle man that you ought to be, cite the relevant laws that mandates him to be in court. But to take the direct opposite of and drag the nobility of the profession to disrepute is uncalled for here... No offence pls.

"If I am really a lawyer?". I'll refrain from being pulled down to your abysmal level. It's a faceless forum so slanderous and libelous comments can unfortunately slip by. Your cup of tea anyway. I have nothing else to say to you. Nairaland is definitely not what it used to be ages ago. The quality of discussions and informed debates have plummeted to an all time low. Tantrums, insults and out right misinformation is bandied as the truth and official position and attempts to put things in proper perspective is met most times with insults. Oh well....

In criminal cases, the accused must be present and also sit in the dock until the trial is over. So he will be attending court anytime the case is called.
dats true.
