This is primitive for 2015 Nigeria. The body can be kept fit and strong with modern equipments and methods without causing unnecessary injuries to the body.

Its counter-productive at best - the enemies' method involve: food/water poisoning, plundering and suicide bombing. So how is bruised body aid in stopping food/water poisoning, plundering and suicide bombing.

The Nigerian military have been following shows of military mights between the world super-powers in the last few months. Nations are displaying how many computer-powered cameras and weapons they can deploy to intimidate others. They are even reluctant to put any human on the ground but the Nigerian army have consistently refused to learn from modern trend.

Sometimes one wonders if people learn anything at all or if they are just being deliberately nonchalant.

Nigerian Army is one of the best when it comes to ruggedness and don't judge them by the government's lack of political will to fight BH. If you think war are won with fighter jets and armored tanks, then countries won't bother themselves having large conscript of men to fight wars !

A nation army is meant to protect the nation's territorial integrity and resist all threats to the sovereignty of the people. Ruggedness means nothing to the constitutional responsibilities expected of the Nigeria army.
Army Chiefs are supposed to study new world trends and advise the government accordingly but when the pictures that come from army all-the-time show they are still thinking like 1960 it is easier to know why they have not been acceptably successful in defeating BH.

I did not even mention arms nor ammunition in my post - I am emphasizing the fact that the developed world is moving towards super-technology to defend their territorial interest.
There are different forms of wars; the form determines the reasonable strategies a nation should apply. What we have in BH is novel and convoluted. Ruggedness of our army will not bring BH to their knees.

2015 the following nations have had to demonstrate their military strength against their perceived foes/opponents:
^ North-Korea has displayed how strong its army is in size, arms and ammunition
^ China has sailed into disputed areas with newly-built and top-notch-technology-driven war ships and birds
^ The US has sailed close to China-made artificial island displaying the depth and reach of their war ships and accoutrements
^ Russia has deliberately "succeeded" where US has failed with ISIS for years using their newly-developed and technology-driven assault launcher

The big question is which of these nations command more respect with their strategies? And which of them are becoming more redoubtable?
Those are the nations we should be copying. Putting men on ground without thorough knowledge of your environment and foes is simply immolation of innocent souls. Wise nations are equipping their soldiers with knowledge, technology and martial - this way soldier lives will not be recklessly endangered.
