BascoVanVeli: The pitches in the better Stadia have better drainages. The climate is friendlier for our Foreign pros. At the end, better facilities, means better conditions. |

TheGoodJoe:lol... . Hard work indeed. The work he went to do in London for his ear abi? Only God knows how much that one cost us You can like this government, but not so much you ate blind to their fault as well. My room mates were calling me Buhari's child last year, I just wanted something different and my calculations told me Buhari would win So, as much as I disliked GEJ, I won't pet Buhari mindlessly. If things are going fine for you, don't aggravate those that are seeing hell these days by refusing to admit where Buhari went wrong. I don't need 4 years before I know a useless government How much have you seen from his trips? Last I checked, people are still stealing food from the fire. We should also blame GEJ.. .. maybe we should have given him 4 more years to clean up his mess so that Buhari will have a clean slate 3 Likes |

goldfish80: It was easy to tell who understood what to do to push our football forward. Amaju Pinnick wanted Coach Keshi out. Coach Keshi Won his last two games before Pinnick sacked him. After disrupting the team, Coach Keshi was reinstated and Uche forced on Coach Keshi. That disrupted the camp and affected the team. Maigari wanted to kept Keshi. Giwa insisted on keeping Keshi. Just as he is insisting on keeping Salisu. Yet we get these disruptive attitude from Amaju Pinnick insisting a cash strapped agency should hire a foreign coach. Neglecting the challenges the body faces. |

safarigirl: As I said, these guys are doing wonders. The problem is that people do not understand the depth of the challenge this country is facing. If you think it is easy bailing out States and sending allocations some months during a recession. Then you have not understood the problem. No Money. We should be in Surplus after a windfall but we have our reserves depleted and the ECA reduced. During a windfall of Foreign revenue, there was no sign of diversification and GEJ's government dipped their hands into the reserves and ECA to pay Subsidy. This month, this government increased the ECA by almost a Billion Dollars. This was done while facing a Recession. It is not easy and they deserve more than abuse. We can criticise. We can demand more but we should not abuse. It is a tough task and I pray we escape from this. |

The way forward for these boys. I hope the NFF reward these boys for their World Cup performances. The 2013 World Cup winners got houses to their names and these boys got Twenty Thousand naira. This is unacceptable. They deserve more than this. Now they are out of the qualifiers, they need their due rewards now. This is a chance for them to make something out of their hard work, dedication and perseverance. These boys should not give up on their dreams. Keep rallying for their rewards and when they get it, they should find their ways to top quality agents who can secure trials for them in Europe. I hope the NFF pay the coaches and please make Coach Amunike the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles since that position is vacant. |

I support Buhari in a general sense but some of his economic policies dug us deeper into a hole. Abeg let us leave politics .. |

I concur with ur write up.! All sectors have turned down in this present administration of Buhari, sport inclusive. NFF have been complaining about No much fund to cater for the national teams, the athletes that are representing us in Rio that are supposed to be cater for are asking to source fund and get themselves to Rio,Imagine!!! the monetary state of the olympic football team is nothing to write home about.,, the sport minister was saying jargons, telling us he's not aware about the trip of the dream team to Atlanta by the NFF, using that to back off the fund that's supposed to us to cater for that team.. The U20 failed due to commitment, the team complained they were not financial encouraged, All under this Buhari Govt. These have never happen before..! safarigirl: 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: Forget facilites my bros, rain trumped all our hard work and facilities. We should base where we play on the best weather. When it rainy season we go north and when it's dry we go south simple. A primary school in Kano would have been better than that field in Lagos and thanks to the FIFA president we couldn't postpone the match. Now what is he here for when we have no football. |
Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by TheGoodJoe(m): 1:15pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
BascoVanVeli: Best facilities. The good Stadia will not waterlog. Going to a hotter climate will not help the matter if the pitch is in a poor condition. In this case, the poor facility affected the performance. |

lakesidepapa: We have always had financial issues. This is certainly not the first time that a Nigerian team has complained of a lack of funds.Keshi, Siasia and Manu Garba were owed salaries for multiple months. We also had issues with players bonuses. Financial issues in Nigeria sports has always been there. The sports ministry has denied reports of athletes sponsoring themselves.. And yes, we have serious economic issues but this is certainly not the first time that we have faced owed wages and allowances.. |

lakesidepapa: This happened before under OBJ when he first came into power. Every thing was bad and the price of Crude was very low. Then the 9/11 attacks on the twin towers and George Bush jnr declaring war against Iraq made the Price of Crude shoot up and things normalized to a time GEJ could fill our reserves with Billions of dollars. It was during this time the ECA was created during an Oil Boom. Then we hit a crisis under Yaradua. However, the Billions saved by OBJ during the windfall, shielded Nigerians from the effect. GEJ met another boom. Unlike OBJ, GEJ failed to save and depleted our reserves. So now were are in a crisis due to the fall in prices of Crude Oil, we are feeling the effect drastically. No money saved, our reserves depleted. In an undiversified economy that is dependent on only crude, all Sectors must feel it. We should hope and pray for guidance to sail us out of these recession, instead of putting the blame on the wrong person. What the government is facing is tough and so far they are keeping us a float. When Okonjo Iweala said we should prepare for hard times, what did you guys think she was talking about. Things would have been harder under GEJ because by now our remaining reserves would have depleted and the massive wastage would have continued. |

lakesidepapa: How?? With what evidence? Eguaveon is still been owed salary till date..Same with Amodu and Keshi. They were owed when we had an oil windfall and when people were wasting billions.. As long as we continue to depend on FG for funds, we will have the same problems.. 1 Like 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe: We are just complaining about Oil prices crisis, Oil prices that.. We have heard enough abeg.. There are large number of countries in world without Oil and they are doing better than us. Our Government should diversify the economic and get alternatives for Oil. Enough is enough..! |
Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by BascoVanVeli(m): 1:49pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: I don't agree with that, i remember watching the club world cup in Morroco and the field was even worse and that is a world class stadium. When the rain gets to a certain amount the stadium becomes useless. Enyimba lost to Zamalek in port owing to rain. |
Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by TheGoodJoe(m): 1:54pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
lakesidepapa: You diversify when the money is available. Unfortunately, we do not have money. Our reserves is low, making the dollar rate flexible also took some funds out of our reserves. That is why we need to be patient as we scale through these challenging times. The wasted money should have been saved and part used in diversification. Two refineries built would have reduced the pressure on our reserves. So when you write about countries without Crude doing better than us, it is because they used the little they have well. Unfortunately, the last government wasted the plenty we had. That is why we are in terrible conditions. |

Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by TheGoodJoe(m): 1:58pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
BascoVanVeli: Any stadium you see waterlogged to the point, it is difficult to string passes, then the drainage is poor. Adequate draining and good soil makes the conditions better. It rains a lot in London. However, how many times do you see Emirates of Arsenal Waterlogged despite regular rains. The Stadia in Egypt you are talking about has poor draining. The ones in Port-Harcourt and Uyo will provide better conditions for our teams than others because of the pitch conditions . |
Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by TheGoodJoe(m): 2:04pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
tbaba1234: The owing is a bad culture growing in the NFF that must be stamped out. Those men have too much power that they misbehave regularly. During the windfall, Billions were pumped into the NFF yet, arrears were not taking care off and players still suffered. I remember John Obu's U17 boys went through hell, despite the fact we were hosting the competition. Pinnick should be true to himself and step down if he can not continue. We need someone who can package the team, raise money and manage it during these challenging times. I still wonder how the League Management Company's Head could raise Billions for our Local League with little Government input and Pinnick is still confused. He should step down for someone who has a plan to push us forward. |
Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by BascoVanVeli(m): 2:09pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe:btw it's Morroco not Egypt. What i don't get is that u are a fan of a team(Man City) who might not play today because bad weather has damaged the pitch. Or do u think Uyo's pitch is better than the one in China also? |
Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by TheGoodJoe(m): 2:15pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
BascoVanVeli: The drainage is poor. Simple. When I talk of pitch conditions, I am not only talking of water logging but the grass level and smoothness of the pitch. As for the Chinese Stadium for tomorrow's game, you can not ascertain if the pitch is better than Uyo. Uyo has a very good soil texture. Second, the stadium is top quality. A better drainage of this Chinese stadium will help the conditions for tomorrow's game. As long as the drainage is poor, the effect of the water logging will be much. Which stadium do you recommend apart from Port-Harcourt and Uyo? |

TheGoodJoe:I'm not in support of abusing our leaders because they r there only because God allowed them for the time being, but the truth b told, our leaders are clueless and wicked. Buhari is the most clueless amongst them all,he has nothing to offer Nigeria and her citizens. I understand u r been diplomatic and polite to our leaders but they have all failed us. The ones who are in power r the unqualified,u need not to be told how they got into power,so what do u expect from them. The qualified ones has never been allowed to lead in this crazy nation. The only time we've witness any thing close to governance in Nigeria is only in Obasanjo's administration, even Obasanjo failed woefully, but we were able to see some qualified technocrats in his administration. Don't even mention GEJ's admin, because GEJ laid the foundation of our misery. I hate to discus about Nigeria, because I don't know where to start. We are still called a nation only because of God's mercy and grace,we are not even deserved to be called a nation because a nation is a group of different people facing the same direction. But in Nig. is every man for himself. |
Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by BascoVanVeli(m): 3:15pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: I have given u world class stadiums that still have these problems, there is no level of grass that u can't find in China. Plus one thing i know is that in southern nigeria when it really rains there is no football. I would rather Kano, Kaduna or Jos. |
Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by Icon4s(m): 4:06pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
U pple are just arguing away from the main issue. That team to me is nt competitive enough. I raised eye brows when i saw the team being composed of 90% of the last U17. Some of those boys are nt U20 materials. I got concerned when d team struggled against Burundi. They needed 2 late goals against Sudan away. The U20 is nt for academy players bt young professionals.Players that are already playing professional football. Bringing in more experience into dat team would have made d difference. Taiwo Awoniyi, Ifeanyi Mathew, Chidozie Awaziem, Musa Yahaya, Chidera Ezeh, Nura Abdulahi among others should have been in that team. We keep treating d U20 with kids gloves. Nigeria will never get it right at the U20 until we stop underrating d competition at this stage. cc: TheGoodJoe, safarigirl, Bascovanveli, tbaba1234, adrainuche, Napoleon55, lakesidepapa, joseph1013. |

Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by TheGoodJoe(m): 4:38pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
Icon4s: If we are talking of the main competition, then I am for calling the pros. The African Championship I think, falls during the season and clubs will not release their promising players. As soon as I saw that these boys stopped training, then I knew there was going to be a problem. |
Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by TheGoodJoe(m): 4:40pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
BascoVanVeli: How are the pitches of these stadia you are recommending. Have you forgotten how bad the Kano pitch was? That is not a good ground for the passing game we play. As I said before, conditions of the pitches. A dry pitch does not mean the pitch is in good condition. |
Re: Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (South Korea 2017) by Icon4s(m): 4:42pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
BascoVanVeli: A good number of d boys dat won dat CAF U23 were nt part of those build up games. |
