Why Are Muslim Suffering? by bilms(m): 3:17pm On May 15, 2009
A tiny minority of Muslims has engaged itself in a war (jihad) against the West in general and against the US, Israel, and India in particular. What they are doing through their military adventurism is causing the entire Muslim ummah suffering at the hands of the Jihadis and, because of their misadventures, at the hands of the US and others as well.

The analysis of the situation done by the Jihadi Muslims is that there is a grand conspiracy of the Jews which has caused the entire West to go against Islam and Muslims. They believe that the only way to counter this trend is to undertake an open war against them. If Muslims join hands and fight against the US, Israel, and India, God Almighty would help them in annihilating these enemies of God, His messenger, and Muslims.

Most certainly, proper solution to a problem is based upon two components: the right analysis of the problem and a sincere effort at implementing the solution based on the analysis. In my opinion the analysis of these Muslims is seriously flawed. The truth is that the opposition of the US, Israel, and India against Muslims and their successful attempts to subjugate and cause serious damage to us is not the cause of our woes. Their successful military adventurism against us is in itself the result of another, bigger cause. It is God’s displeasure with Muslims that has allowed Americans, Israelis, and Indians to successfully launch their military campaign against us because God is allowing them to be succeed in their mission. It cannot be that despite the fact that He doesn’t want them to cause damage to us, we would still suffer.

What is happening to us is exactly what happened to the Children of Israel, the Muslims of the earlier times, in their history of two thousand years before the arrival of Prophet Muhammad, Allah's mercy be on him. The Qur’an describes their suffering in these words:

“And we forewarned the Children of Israel in their Holy Book that ‘you will do mischief in the land twice through and you will become arrogant transgressors (and each time you will be punished).‘

When the promise for the first of the two fore warnings came to be fulfilled, WE SENT AGAINST YOU OUR SERVANTS WITH MILITARY MIGHT: THEY RAMPAGED THROUGH YOUR HOMES TO CARRY OUT THE PUNISHMENT OF WHICH YOU WERE FOREWARNED. Then after this, we afforded you an opportunity to overpower them and helped you with wealth and sons and granted you more manpower. If you perform well you do so for your own benefit; but if you do evil, it would cause harm to your own selves.

Then, when the promise for your second forewarning came to be fulfilled, (WE SENT ANOTHER ARMY) TO DISFIGURE YOUR FACES AND TO ENTER YOUR TEMPLE AS THE FORMER HAD ENTERED IT BEFORE AND THEY UTTERLY DESTROYED ALL THAT THEY LAID THEIR HANDS ON.

Now your Lord may again be merciful to you; but if you repeat the same behavior, we will repeat the punishment, and in the hereafter, we have made hell a prison for such unbelievers.

Surely this Qur'an guides to the way that is perfectly straight and gives the good news to the believers who do good deeds that they shall have a magnificent reward, and at the same time it gives warnings to those who do not believe in the hereafter, that we have prepared for them a painful punishment.” (Qur’an; 17:4-10)

Indeed one of these two analyses of the situation could be correct: It’s either the lack of proper willingness, as the Jihadis say, in the majority of Muslims to fight against the US and its allies which is causing Muslims to be damned in this world or it is God’s decision to inflict His punishment on Muslims through “our servants with military might” which is causing Muslims to be in the state of complete disarray. One of the two possibilities could be correct. Both cannot be simultaneously correct unless one agrees with the proposition that God is displeased with Muslims because they were not undertaking Jihad against the non-Muslims, which is what the Qur’an is most certainly not suggesting. The Qur’an is warning the Children of Israel in the above-stated passage of dire consequences because they did mischief on the land twice and they become arrogant transgressors.

The fact that God is punishing us through non-Muslims is undeniable. The reason this has happened is not because we are not undertaking proper war against our enemies but because of our “mischief” and “arrogance”. In my opinion the following are some of the prominent misdeeds that have invited God’s punishment to be inflicted on Muslims:

i) As a nation Muslims are corrupt. Cheating, disregard of merit, and breaking of commitments are some of the crimes we are consistently committing. Exceptions apart, hypocrisy is the hallmark of the present-day Muslims.

ii) The present-day Muslims are extremely arrogant. Despite being morally corrupt, Muslims are dead sure that they will eventually succeed in the hereafter while all non-Muslims shall be doomed.

iii) The greatest evil in the present-day Muslims is that although they were expected to bring non-Muslims closer to Islam by their good acts and words, they have caused them to hate the religion of God by presenting a picture of it which cannot incline a decent human being to accept it as the religion of God. The Islam Muslims are presenting appears to be against every beautiful blessing God has created for humans in this life; it seems to suggest that the creator of this world is, God forbid, extremely unfair in that He will look at the religion of humans and not their intentions and deeds while deciding about their eternal fate; they have also caused great harm to the message of God by creating the impression that hating fellow humans to the extent of even killing them was a part of the expectation of God from his His devoted servants.

If these allegations against Muslims were correct, how can a sane non-Muslim come close to Islam? And if non-Muslims, who are equally God’s creation, have been drawn away from His religion by the misdeeds of Muslims, how can He be pleased with them? And if He is annoyed with Muslims, why should He not punish them?

If what I am claiming is correct, then the Jihadis are fighting a losing battle, because they are not fighting against the Americans, Israelis, or Indians; they are fighting against God’s decision. If they are really interested in bringing back the lost glory of Muslims, they should address the problems that are causing God to be displeased with Muslims.

Masalam

Re: Why Are Muslim Suffering? by Nobody: 1:16am On May 18, 2009
this article is fraught with the usually evil and insidious way that islam tries to steal other cultures to paper over its own emptiness.

bilms:

What is happening to us is exactly what happened to the Children of Israel, the Muslims of the earlier times

1. When did Jews become the "muslims" of earlier times? shocked Go to Israel today . . . do you see ANY HALLMARKS of islam there? Are synagogues of old now mosques of today? Where are the levitical priests in today's islam?

2. What is happening to muslims today is not in anyway connected to what happened to the ancient jews. Infact the greatest threat to modern-day jews comes from MUSLIMS . . . the very hypocrites who claim those same jews were ancient muslims. If this falsehood is true then WHY do today's muslims so virulently hate the descendants of their ancient brothers?

bilms:

in their history of two thousand years before the arrival of Prophet Muhammad, Allah's mercy be on him.

How was the arrival of mohammad of any relevance to jews? He came as an arabian not a jew, he came wielding a "revelation" from an alleged gabriel . . . the jews hold unto the torah and the laws of moses, he never once stepped foot inside Jerusalem and his allah commanded muslims to turn their backs on Jerusalem . . . the jewish legacy is STRONGLY tied to jerusalem and the rebuilding of its temple . . . the very one muslims trample upon . . .

So what has mohammad to do with the jews?

bilms:

The Qur’an describes their suffering in these words:

Basically plagiarising the bible. Everything that happened to the jews was already written down thousands of yrs before a quran existed. So what exactly was new in what the quran is now purporting to "describe"?

bilms:

When the promise for the first of the two fore warnings came to be fulfilled, WE SENT AGAINST YOU OUR SERVANTS WITH MILITARY MIGHT: THEY RAMPAGED THROUGH YOUR HOMES TO CARRY OUT THE PUNISHMENT OF WHICH YOU WERE FOREWARNED. Then after this, we afforded you an opportunity to overpower them and helped you with wealth and sons and granted you more manpower. If you perform well you do so for your own benefit; but if you do evil, it would cause harm to your own selves.

Obviously the writer of the quran is oblivious of the history of the jews. Moses with a simple staff defeated the might of Pharaoh, Gideon with 300 men defeated an army of thousands, Jehoshaphat claimed victory over Moab, ammon and Mount Seir without lifting a single sword . . .

So exactly which "manpower" is the quran talking about?

bilms:

The Qur’an is warning the Children of Israel in the above-stated passage of dire consequences because they did mischief on the land twice and they become arrogant transgressors.

This is blatant falsehood . . . the jews sinned on their land WAY MORE THAN TWICE. Defeated by the Midianites due to sin, under Ahab and Jezebel, the land was divided after Solomon under the reign of Jeroboam, in the book of Esther we see the Jews as captives under the Cyrus, Nebuchadnezer sacked Jerusalem taking the jews into slavery . . . and those are the few i can remember before the AD 70 destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans.

Twice indeed.

Interesting but disgusting, Is it the west that is inflicting suffering on the muslims or what point are you trying to make out of that, islam came against the west in the name of Jihad, and they will come in the name of Atomic bombs, any big deal in that ,

when a muslim kill without understanding islam, and he claim to kill by islam instruction.

then the outside world wont take him for killing alone, but they will accuse his religion since he claim he got this instruction from his religion.

so it is the duty of the islamic cummunity to educate people on what jihad means, and also explain the punishment for killing.

if they do these, the entire world will know that the islamic law does not permit killing,

the reason for my post is to say, the islamic community need an open lecturer to the entire muslim of the world on what jihad means and clerufy any doubt from the outside world, to have a better ynderstanding,

example is if the muslim community organize an open lecturer to educate abt jihad, the hausas in kano kaduna and jos wont be killing some1 in the name of islam, if they do after the open lecturer. it will be seen clearly that they kill for another reason not for islam,

@ poster

There's a very simple answer to your questions "Why are muslims suffering'

Cause they have lost the power and influence they yielded in the past and are simply trying to regain that stance once again through lunacy.

Its only a matter of time when one of these schizo's will be in possession of a nuclear weapon and blow us all up fantasising about himself in the hereafter with white robes and drinking from lakes filled with honey.

God help us all if that happens!

The verse of the Holy Qurán, which so comprehensively covers this concept of service to humanity, reads

O people of Islam, "You are the best people ever raised for the good of mankind because you have been raised to serve others; you enjoin what is good and forbid evil and believe in Allah." (3:111)

You will remain the best as long as you are service-minded, promote good and promote the welfare of society. If you fail to do this, you no longer have a right to boast of the superiority of Islam and the Muslim Ummah. A society which is insensitive to the suffering of other human beings and is not always inclined to serve the cause of humanity cannot be described as an Islamic society, no matter how much it adhered to other aspects of Islamic teachings.

The fundamental qualities that we must all acquire to serve mankind or to develop a passion to serve mankind are: love for humanity, kindness in our hearts for others, a charitable disposition, humility, honesty, a thirst for knowledge, a desire to share knowledge with others and a constant desire to strive in the cause of Allah by doing good. We must be a people from whom goodness flows towards others. Most Ahmadi Muslims possess these characteristics.

The teachings of the Holy Qurán and the example of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) direct us on how best to serve mankind. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) practiced the teachings of the Holy Qurán to the fullest extent and is the best example of the true representation of service to mankind and to Allah. That is why Allah says in the Holy Qurán:

"And do not forget to do good to one another." (2:238)

And about the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) the Holy Qurán says:

"and we have sent thee not but as a blessing (mercy) for the entire universe (for all peoples)" (21:108)

"Verily you have in the prophet of Allah an excellent model." (33:22)

The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) emphasized love, sympathy, and kindness towards all. He also emphasized that we must show each other great appreciation. He said, "One who is not grateful to mankind is not grateful to Allah." (Tirmidhi)

The Promised Messiah (peace be on him) had a great compassion for mankind. He said, "Sympathy for all mankind is a moral obligation and a duty (Arbaeen), that religion is no religion which does no inculcate sympathy, nor does that man deserve to be called a man who does no have sympathy in him (message of peace)."

The Promised Messiah (peace be on him) said, "The teachings of the Holy Qurán can be divided into two major categories. The first being unity of God, love and obedience to Him. The second is to treat kindly your brothers and fellow beings, be kind and merciful to humanity, always work for the good of mankind."

Inviting People to the Path of Allah

The most basic way of serving mankind is inviting people to the path of Allah and praying for them. While it is the duty of all Muslims to invite people to Allah, as Ahmadi Muslims, it is our prime responsibility and the Jamaat utilizes considerable resources and manpower through its various schemes to do this. We are established in over 170 countries with the prime objective of inviting people to the path of Allah.

Inviting people to the path of Allah, the Holy Qurán reminds us, must be done in the best manner possible.

"Call unto the way of thy Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation and argue with them in a way that is best." (16:126)

Inviting people to the path of Allah and to live a righteous life provides:

1) Contentment of heart as Allah says

"Aye! It is in the remembrance of Allah that hearts can find comfort." (13:29)

2) And we may all become beneficiaries of Allah's bounties. As the Holy Qurán says, we regards to people who lead a righteous life.

"He will send down rain for you in abundance and He will strengthen you with wealth and with children and He will give you gardens and He will give you rivers." (71:12&13)

Fatwa against Religious Extremism by the Fiqh Council of North America

The Fiqh Council of North America wishes to reaffirm Islam’s condemnation of terrorism and religious extremism.

Islam strictly condemns religious extremism and the use of violence against innocent lives. There is no justification in Islam for extremism or terrorism. Targeting civilians’ life and property through suicide bombings or any other method of attack is haram – prohibited in Islam – and those who commit these barbaric acts are criminals, not “martyrs.”

The Qur’an, Islam’s revealed text, states: “Whoever kills a person, unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land, it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a person, it is as though he had saved all mankind.” (Qur’an, 5:32)

Prophet Muhammad said there is no excuse for committing unjust acts: “Do not be people without minds of your own, saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well, and that if they do wrong you will do wrong to them. Instead, accustom yourselves to do good if people do good and not to do wrong (even) if they do evil.” (Al-Tirmidhi)

God mandates moderation in faith and in all aspects of life when He states in the Qur’an: “We made you to be a community of the middle way, so that (with the example of your lives) you might bear witness to the truth before all mankind.” (Qur’an, 2:143)

In another verse, God explains our duties as human beings when he says: “Let there arise from among you a band of people who invite to righteousness, and enjoin good and forbid evil.” (Qur’an, 3:104)

Islam teaches us to act in a caring manner to all of God’s creation. The Prophet Muhammad, who is described in the Qur’an as “a mercy to the worlds” said: “All creation is the family of God, and the person most beloved by God (is the one) who is kind and caring toward His family.”

In the light of the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah we clearly and strongly state:

All acts of terrorism targeting the civilians are Haram (forbidden) in Islam.
It is Haram for a Muslim to cooperate or associate with any individual or group that is involved in any act of terrorism or violence.
It is the duty of Muslims to cooperate with the law enforcement authorities to protect the lives of all civilians.

We issue this fatwa following the guidance of our scripture the Qur’an and the teachings of our Prophet Muhammad –peace be upon him. We urge all people to resolve all conflicts in just and peaceful manners. We have deep concern for the suffering and pain of millions of Muslims in different parts of the world. We deplore those who cause death and destruction to them. However, we urge Muslims to not lose their moral grounds. God’s help is with those who follow the right path.

We pray for the defeat of extremism, terrorism and injustice. We pray for the safety and security of our country United States and its people. We pray for the safety and security of all inhabitants of this globe. We pray that interfaith harmony and cooperation prevail both in United States and every where in the world.

British Muslim Clerics issue fatwa against terrorism

In the name of Allah, the all-Merciful, the most Compassionate

A special meeting of imams (leaders) and ulama (scholars) held at the Islamic Cultural Centre, Regents Park, London on 15th July 2005 endorsed the following declaration:

Along with all Londoners and the people of Britain, we are deeply shocked and saddened by the bombing attacks of 7 July 2005 that caused the loss of at least 52 innocent lives, wounded hundreds and disrupted the peace and order of the civic and community life of the metropolis. We regard these acts as utterly criminal, totally reprehensible, and absolutely un-Islamic.

On behalf of our communities and congregations, we express heartfelt sorrow and extend condolences to the families and friends of the victims. We pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. We extend our sympathy to the entire British public, a nation to which we all belong by the Grace of God.

There can never be any excuse for taking an innocent life. The Qur’an clearly declares that killing an innocent person was tantamount to killing all mankind and likewise saving a single life was as if one had saved the life of all mankind. (The Qur’an, Al-Maidah 5:32) This is both a principle and a command.

We are firmly of the view that these killings had absolutely no sanction in Islam, nor is there any justification whatsoever in our noble religion for such evil actions. It is our understanding that those who carried out the bombings in London should in no sense be regarded as martyrs.

It is incumbent upon all of us, Muslims and non-Muslims – to help the authorities with any information that may lead to the planners of last week’s atrocity being brought to justice. The pursuit of justice for the victims of last week’s attacks is an obligation under the faith of Islam. Islam is the middle path and the Qur’an designates Muslims as the ummatan wasata – the middle community. Any form of extremism is to be utterly and completely rejected. What we need, therefore, in our troubled world, more than ever before is to stick to the middle and balanced way of Islam.

i also want to add that Jihad is an islamic practice that has conditions and rules of when and how and who to carry it out and who to order it.so this act which is for the purpose of self-defense using military means as last resort should not be misunderstood with terrorism and the killing of innocent people and non-combatants which is forbidden in Islam,as al qaeda does.also, terrorists are not to be called "jihadis".only the west and the ill-intended do so to tarnish the image of muslims and distort the true meanings of words muslims use.

here is a comment by Abu Ismail on Osama's death. According to him and many high ranked Muslims, he is A MARTYR.

And Usama bin Laden—may Allah be pleased with him—may Allah take great mercy upon him. I ask Allah to accept him with the righteous and the martyrs, O Lord. Do not imagine that a martyr is only someone with whom you’ve always agreed throughout your life. If you had a different point of view from him, and then he was killed, this would not negate his martyrdom. Now this man (i.e. bin Laden) had religion wealth, and he was able to spend millions in the path of Allah, and speak the word of truth with power. However, he preferred to sacrifice his flesh, his offspring, his family, and his wealth, and go to the front lines to work in the path of Allah. The most glorious among us are
always the martyrs. May Allah have mercy on him. The testimony which he obtained was a great fortune. I suppose that he—and Allah is his judge now—is among those of whom it is said,
“If only my people
knew,”
Allah-willing. May Allah take great mercy upon him, and I ask Almighty Allah that the Muslims may soon be able to avenge him, as well as all of the martyrs of Islam, such as ‘Abdallah ‘Azam, Ahmad Yasin, and others, O Lord.

Osama is a righeous man before Allah, and the 72 virgins and young boys are for him in your Paradise.

An imam from the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem vowed to take revenge over “the western dogs” for killing Al-
Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in
Pakistan on Sunday.
shocked

In a Youtube video uploaded by the imam he said:

“The western
dogs are rejoicing after killing one of our Islamic lions.
smiley

From Al-Aqsa Mosque, where the future caliphate will originate with the help of God, we say to them – the dogs will not rejoice too much for killing the lions. grin
The dogs will remain dogs and the lion, even if he is dead, will remain a lion.” cheesy

The imam then verbally attacked US President Barack Obama saying: “You personally instructed to kill Muslims. You should know that soon you’ll hang together with Bush Junior.” shocked

“We are a nation of billions, a good nation. We’ll teach you about politics and military ways very soon, with god’s help,” he vowed. >>> cool

(Title translated from Arabic) Obituary of Osama bin Laden lion of the Islam from blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque

This is not an everyday run of the mill mosque tucked away in a corner somewhere. It is the Al- Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the third holiest site in Islam. cool

I think it might be true, as is commonly taught nowadays, that poverty is a driving force behind hatred of the west by muslims. Areas with a higher poverty level tend to produce the most militant Islamists, with fewer exceptions.

Of course bin laden wasnt poor or from a poor country, but i'm sure if you check, there was probably a precipitating factor behind his actions. Besides, he still remained the head of his organization.

Its quite possible that affluence takes the edge off the bitterness somewhat and reduces the urgency, type, or need for, jihad.

As per the thread title, muslims on average tend to have more rich people, as far as I can see.

What we need, therefore, in our troubled world, more than ever before is to stick to the middle and balanced way of Islam.

we can see why Judek fits nicely the description that he is a liar and slanderer, here are tons of statements that shows credible muslims scholars rebuking Osama, he goes to quote obscure individuals to prove that muslim clerics are support Osama, i ask where did common sense go? he quotes two individuals against tens of Clerics, not Obscure individuals, well known clerics. I ask where is common-sense we expect that the even a dry coconut brain will simply agree that the majority of Muslim clerics are against Osama and his tactics, yet we see Judek showing his trade mark -Liar and slanderer- like his master Paul who defame Jesus teaching to steal credit for founding christianity, yes indeed Jesus was a Jew not a Christian!

here are Christian clergy supporting Hitler, i hope the Liar and Sanderer will reach the same conclusion he is reaching:

Cardinal Adolf Bertram: Promoting the Christian Education of the People

[I wish to express my church's] sincere and joyous preparedness to cooperate as best they could with the government now ruling that had set itself that tasks of promoting the Christian education of the people, repelling ungodliness and immorality, developing readiness to make sacrifices for the common good and protecting the rights of the Church.

For Germany's prestige in East and West and before the whole world this handshake with the Papacy, the greatest moral power in the history of the world, is a feat of immeasurable blessing. , May God preserve the Reich Chancellor for our people.

You can keep on ranting. Muslims are pretenders, only those who ignore the shame and frauds and speak out the truth can be listened to.

Islam as a religion and the Koran as the guide justifies every step made by this man. He can even be called a man like Mohammad.

Muslim pretenders such as scholers who dont want to get dirty will be quick in allegedly condemning their Muslim faithfuls. They speak with their mouth and bear the opposite in mind. Whats good is good, and whats bad is bad, every free mind even infested with Islam know this.
They know that as a true Muslim,OSAMA deserve a second-man honour in your Heaven, but will alway write rubbish to cover their dirty aass, only when he is dead.
I hail that Iman for speaking out, despite the shame it may bring to Islam to both a common man and Islam pretenders, but the truth is that,
"HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH WITHOUT PRETENCE",ofcoarse Muslims wont crusify him.

Remember, he is an Iman, not a scholar. grin ,and most Imans justifies this.
Who is more spiritual in teaching of your religion, The Imans or the scholars? The scholars as scholars, know its bad,so they can cover it up by Pretence, but the true Imans (false ones pretends) know its exactly what the religion endorced, that why he was a MARTYR.

The real reason the Cardinal is praising Hitler here is for the CONCORDAT - an RELIGIOUS agreement between the papacy and a sovereign state, in this case Germany.
Secondly, note the year the cardinals are praising Hitler - 1933. That was a FULL 8 yrs BEFORE the holocaust against Jews and WW2 was to start in 1941.

When are these miserably dishonest slaves of allah going to start telling us the truth?

davidylan:

this is a very stupid and deliberately dishonest claim. First of all lets read the claim that LagosShia quoted on Hitler . . . Cardinal Michael von Faulhaber: May God Preserve Adolf Hitler

What the old parliament and parties did not accomplish in sixty years, your statesmanlike foresight has achieved in six months. For Germany's prestige in East and West and before the whole world this handshake with the Papacy, the greatest moral power in the history of the world, is a feat of immeasurable blessing. , May God preserve the Reich Chancellor for our people.

- Cardinal Michael von Faulhaber of Bavaria, praising Adolf Hitler for the Concordat, July 24, 1933

When are these miserably dishonest slaves of allah going to start telling us the truth?

another evidence that you christians dont read.i was not the one who quoted the words you are attributing to me.

as for the words,do they show that Hitler was not the man that was no vehemently opposed by the church as many would want us to believe? if you ask a Nazi, you'd see that they will tell you that the persecution against innocent jews was because of economic issues.

in fact, there is a letter that the representative of the Jehovah's witnesses' watch tower organization in germany handed to hitler supporting him in his march against jewish economic domination in europe.

so there is no coincidence in all these things.
