mazeltov: You are a joker who try to claim he knows but knows nothing. Can you even comprehend a simple statement. Every nation vilolates each other's airspace...but shooting down aircraft is war. The standard of violation is protest...have you ever heard of nations scrambling aircarft for violation of their airspace. If every nation shoot down jets that vilate their airspace then there may be no more civilised world. Hence Turkey is escalating things to a new level What triggers a nuclear war? There has never been a nuclear war in human history. The only time nuclear weapon was used it was only one nation that had it - the US. Now there are a few nations with nuclear weapons. When war starts nations are free to use the weapons in their arsenal so you never know when there will be a nuclear war. That is why the world avoids war with nuclear armed nations. A good example is North Korea. Nobody wants to see nuclear war. NATO's only response so far is that they are monitoring the situation and have called an emergency meeting. Those who understand the situation know that it is very serious. Nobody knows how things will turn out but NATO knows that Russia will respond - not sure what the response will be. 11 Likes |

AZeD1: Letting it slide would be political suicide for him at home, especially with the videos of the dead Russian pilot all over the internet. It was a deliberate escalation and he has to do something. Forget NATO, if Turkey ever gets hit by Russia - they'll just talk tough with sabre rattling everywhere, they won't do anything. NATO is not united and Europe won't go to war with Russia over Turkey. There's a reason why Turkey was never allowed to join the EU. 7 Likes |

tdayof:You are the most inconsistent mind I have ever seen. Shooting down the jet is wrong but they should defend their airspace. Lol. Then how do you expect them to defend their airspace? They should stage police in the airspace? tdayof:and Turkey should fold hands and be looking until fighter jet enter densely populate area before they react. I see. tdayof:China has the right to shot down American jet if it violate Chinese airspace. So if China didn't shoot the jet then it is their choice. 1 Like |

The moment I saw Russia's presence in the ME. that same moment I knew that a big one was loading. America has so much ubiquity when it comes to bilateral alliances, with bonds so strong that her allies can even go as far as fighting her battles for her. This present situation confirms what I just mentioned. In the international scene, you can play boss only when you've got so many pals. This is what Putin does not know. Among other implications for doing otherwise is that he would soon get 'devilized' by the mass media, and a slight political mismanagement of the situation is all it needs before he starts an I-against-them war. We have seen this before- in Hitler and in Napoleon. None of them succeeded. That moment when you want to upgrade from second-best to Oga at the top by force. Vlady might be as bold as a lion, but he apparently lacks the subtlety of a fox, a defect Europe's great political instructor, Machiavelli, passionately warned against. 4 Likes |

mazeltov: A supersonic jet travelling at 1800kmph can easily cover 3km in 3 secs. The jet turned back and headed into Syria. Or how are the Turks going to explain how come the Russian jet ended up back in Syria? The Turks are Fcked over this. There is no way Erdogan can defend this open act of foolish brazen aggression. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Mcbussy:No matter what, shooting down of a manned aircraft is too much. Infact, It's a declaration war. They have killed a soldier while caring out his assignment and you expect it to just go? Whatever the implications of going to war may be, folding their arms will be worse. 1 Like |

Shymm3x:Putin will not hit Turkey directy..He would go proxy (most likely with the Kurds) but not a direct confrontation. He stands to gain nothing from bombing Turkey. Putin also knows that if he tries to bomb Turkey, Europe and the US would mostly likely be dragged in to war somehow. |

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-11-24/us-backed-rebels-release-video-dead-russian-pilot A few hours ago, Turkey decided that it would be a good idea to shoot down a Russian Su-24 near the Syrian border. It was the first time in nearly 60 years that a NATO member has shot down a Russian warplane. So, as The Kremlin contemplates how best to respond to what is quite clearly the most serious escalation to date in Syria’s multi-sided, five-year civil war, the search is on for the two Russian pilots who ejected as the plane went down. Needless to say, just about the last place you want to be running around if you’re a fighter pilot is Syria. But the search for the two men may be a lost cause. According to a video sent to Reuters, by “a Syrian rebel group”, at least one of the pilots is dead. Here's the official word from AFP: The footage “appears to show a Russian pilot immobile and badly wounded on the ground,” Reuters says, adding that the rebels can be heard saying “a Russian pilot”, and “God is great” in the background. 4 Likes |

belabela: Also, the precedence Turkey is setting here is that: it's ok to shot down a next country's aircraft when they're close to ya airspace. Why would anyone want to align with that, especially when they have their air crafts flying all over Syria? Russia can enforce a no-fly zone over Syria cos Assad invited them there and that will lead to something else. 1 Like |

maverickboy: Bro, fly into Russian airspace and say this after they shoot down ur plane. Flying into a country's airspace without authorisation isn't allowed, whether manned aircraft or drone. Even an allied nation would ask before doing so. 1 Like |

An advanced fighter jet which is capable of launching air-to-surface missiles is approaching an enemy's airspace and Turkey issued several warnings but the pilot didn't respond so in your own dumb thinking, you expect Turkey to be looking abi? This is the same series of Fighter jet that jammed American USS Donald ship. Lolzzz 1 Like |

AZeD1: Turkish jets violate Syrian airspace all the time to bomb the Kurds. And since Russia has s400s in Syria, they can easily shoot down those planes. Putin can't let it slide - he's a man known for showing leadership and someone needs to teach the crazed Erdogan a lesson. Then you have the home-front - Russian won't let it slide. Europe will never go to war over Turkey. Turkey is a US project, and there's a reason why Turkey was never allowed to join the EU - despite pleas from the US. Funny enough, France, the only strong European country that's active in Syria right now and Turkey don't see eye-to-eye. France also happens to be the biggest Turkey-hater in Europe and the country that blocks everything concerning Turkey in Europe. Only the US might be dragged into it - and I know the US wants war with Russia. Sabre rattling and posturing - that's where it will end. 6 Likes |

mazeltov: Watch while men discuss...you may learn one or two things Men from across the world: 1. Asked whether Russia will invoke its right to self-defence as envisaged in the UN Charter over the loss of its military aircraft on the Syrian-Turkish border, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitriy Peskov replied: "Until there are clarifying reports, it is impossible to answer this question." - BBC 2. A UK Foreign Office spokeswoman has described the shooting down of a Russian air force jet near the Turkish-Syrian border as a "very serious incident". She said: "We are seeking further details urgently. Clearly this is a very serious incident but it would be unwise to comment further until we have more certainty on the facts." 3. "At the request of Turkey, the North Atlantic Council will hold an extraordinary meeting at 16:00 GMT. The aim of this extraordinary NAC is for Turkey to inform Allies about the downing of a Russian airplane," an alliance official told AFP. This is the first time a Nato member's armed forces have downed a Russian or Soviet military aircraft since the 1950s, according to the Reuters news agency According to your limited knowledge it's just a normal thing to do. I hope you can learn a few things 5 Likes |

I told you lot that NATO is not united. Update from Greece: The downing of the Russian jet has sparked grave concerns in Greece, Turkey’s neighbour and for years its Nato rival, reports Helena Smith in Athens. Diplomats are expressing thinly disguised alar. In a country, which frequently complains of Turkish fighter jets both violating and buzzing Greek airspace over the Aegean, the shooting of the SU-24 is being described by diplomats in private “as an extremely serious incident” that has prompted “high concern.” “This is the first time since the beginning of the cold war that a member of NATO destroys a Russian military aircraft,” said one. “It is an extremely serious incident. There is high concern [in Athens].” ^^^That's how everyone in Europe will wash their hands off Turkey and leave Erdogan to deal with his madness by himself. 5 Likes |
Re: Turkey Shoots Down Russian Jet Near Syrian Border by AZeD1(m): 1:39pm On Nov 24, 2015 |
Shymm3x: Frants Klintsevich, deputy head of Russia's upper house security and defense committee called the act “extremely agressive,” and says "NATO countries are trying to demonize Russia and discredit its actions against international terrorism." “This is a provocation," he added, but did say that direct confrontation with Turkey would be "absurd." If Turkish jets get close to Syrian airspace, it would be downed, that's a sure thing but Putin would not declare war on Turkey. They are a small fish to him. Expect the Kurds to get some sophisticated weapons from the Russians soon including some SAM's 4 Likes |
