Nowadays, the procedure for activating wap via 184 doesn't work anymore cos it's been disabled by Celtel. It's just some randomly selected numbers that are still capable of browsing at the moment, even some of my pals that could browse before ended up being deactivated and had to flush their celtel SIM out of annoyance.

Because of free browsing, i've ended up buying one additional phone because I'm tired of swapping SIM cards from MTN (My default line) to Celtel (Lying in my drawer) whenever I want to browse.

I really pity Celtel because I don't ever and will never load any credit on their line due to their high tariff, but I dey download 200MB of data daily free of charge

anyways, Hayprof, the only way to get about browsing on celtel with ur current line has to be celtel.
your sim's inability is from their systems and no amount of config settings sent to ur phone will change that.

does ur phone indicate avaiability of GPRS service ?

na wa o, so some people can browse using celtel. i used to be able to browse too but got cut off after the change from vmobile to celtel and each time i called 111, they would say they were upgrading. i'm thinking of changing to glo sef, i want to "rule my world"

well am still able to browse with my celtel line on my phone but not on my pc.

I do download close to 200mb daily because i'm currently trying to update my music library via limewire. I download a minimum of 20 mp3's daily on both my pc and laptop simultaneously with 2 celtel lines. Whenever there's a downturn in speed with internet settings, i use the wap settings with the aid of proxy settings.

could someone help me out. i have internet settings, am able to browse using opera mini but every time i try 2 connect on my pc it gives ppp link error is there a hack or sumtin 2 overcome this problem ? thnx

Get a systems Administrator then u can ask for the parameters that he will need to set the config on ur PC
