In as much as I don't like the way the president is travelling... Even in my dream, I won't still choose GEJ ahead of buhari... It is absolutely right to criticize him but making it seem like GEJ is a hero I won't accept...

What gains are you talking about when he has crippled forex marrket in Nigeria ? He told the world that Nigerians are useless people including his predecessor who handed power to him.

That he alone can fix Nigeria. Spends average of $800,000 per foreign trip after factoring his allowances, cost of jet fuel and the flight crew.

Keep deceiving yourself. Why hasnt your saint sold off the Presidential Air Fleet as you touted ?

An average of $245,000 per day minus presidential jet. Hmmm.

And the president has spent about 45 days offshore.

Well, some Mathematics.

$245,000 x 45days + (jet money) = $11 million + jet money

In naira= $11 million x 248 = N2.73 billion + Jet money.

If simple things like Taxi,Accommodation and Feeding would cost 2.73 billion, it would be safe to assume that JET MONEY would cost 3 times that amount. So JET MONEY would be equal to N2.8 Billion x 3= N8.2 Billion.

So Total on Junketing = N2.8 Billion +8.2 Billion= N11 Billion.

Now, 5 things N11 Billion would have done for Nigerians.

1)It would pay 600,000 Nigerian Workers minimum wage at 18,000 for 1 month.

2)It will buy 126 million litres of fuel at 87 Naira per litre. That's enough fuel for 10 days for 1 million cars if they are given 12 litres per day.

3)It would buy 3,500 Tractors at 3 Million Naira per tractor putting almost 100 tractors in every state definitely leading to an Agro revolution.

4)

Minus Buhari travel allowance, jet fueling and payment for pilots with flight crew. This could hit N200,000 per trip.

Well, i think the issues rest squarely on inability of our leaders to understand that every country is trying very hard to solve their country's challenges independently with resolute ambitions; however what we have now is Nigeria leaders jumping here and there for solutions.

Don't they get it? your country's problem is another country's heaven to make money! So our leaders need to thinkout from the box. Rather than running to other country's and begging. Rather allow foreign affairs to run foreign policy.

How many Chinese or Asian investors has Buhari brought back from his foreign trips ?

Only the Cross River state government has attracted any form of foreign investment since 29th May.

The amenities you listed are not free in any part of the world. But then, even with all your money in your wallet, you wouldn't have been able to get them still if they didnt exist in your environment; if you had N1m in your pocket, you wouldnt be able to still purchase mobile internet if it didnt exist in Nigeria (as was the case just some years ago).

May I also remind you that it was through those numerous foreign junkets which OBJ embarked upon those days, that's how Nigeria was able to secure a debt relief of well over $20billion from the Paris club. It is sometimes surprising to see supposedly educated people asking what the essence of these foreign trips or diplomatic relations are.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala was instrumental to the cancellation of Nigeria's debt.

OBJ did not secure debt relief through foreign trips. That is a blatant lie

The Paris club and other International debtors came up with the initiative to grant debt relief to several poor countries with the caveat that they pay a substantial part of it immediately. Of course all the countries took the option. It wasnt only Nigeria and it wasnt because fo OBJ's trips. Always check your facts

They existed before OBJ but were expensive just like everywhere else in the world. When the cheap ones were made for the common men it became viral like toyota. So pls stop crediting the works of other people to someone who didn't partake in the transformation rather give kudos to the japanese makers, chinese makers, et.al.

We could have secures the debt relief without him jetting out of the country. True or False?

President Ngozi Okonjo Iweala secured debt relief for Nigeria while her finance minister Olusegun Obasanjo was busy travelling to exotic holiday spots around the world. Very wonderful information; thanks for keeping us informed out of the abundance of your knowledge.

According to financial information obtained by our investigators, an average two-day long presidential trip costs between $350K and $500K. For instance, during Mr. Buhari’s recent trip to Tehran, the capital of Iran, the estacode for accompanying Presidency officials was $105K. In addition, transportation costs stood at $45K, accommodation 200K, honorarium $10K, contingency 20K, with media coverage costing $10K.

The breakdown for the forthcoming trip to Paris is as follows: the estacode for accompanying Presidency officials is $130K, transportation $55K, accommodation $270K, honorarium $10K, contingency 20K, media coverage $10K. The total cost for the trip is $495K

In the course of our investigation, SaharaReporters found that President Buhari is scheduled to make an immediate trip to South Africa. In fact, the trip is planned to follow immediately from Mr. Buhari’s visit to Paris, France. The cost of the forthcoming South African trip is as follows: Estacode for accompanying Presidency officials $110K, transportation $35K, accommodation 220K, honorarium $10K, contingency 20K, and media coverage $10K, for a total of $405K

So the Nigerian people spend between $350k and $500 on a 2-day Presidential trip?
Why are our elected officials never prudent in this country?

It jars the mind to know that we once again outspending more advanced countries on foreign travel, at a time when we can least afford to... angry

David Cameron's foreign trips cost taxpayers more than £530,000 last summer.
...

The prime minister, who is currently in India on a trade visit, visited New York, Brazil and Afghanistan between July and September.

But his four-day trip to New York for a UN meeting, and then Sao Paulo, Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro drumming up trade cost £532,093.
