Which kind of governor is this?! They should buy military hardwares not Toyota pickup trucks. We need SMG, laser, Uzi guns, big big BAZOOKA launchers and land attack cruise missiles, not trucks!! DULLARDS! 1 Like |

rodbel: Lol. He meant the1999 4th hand used one he drives. Don't blame him. 10 million per piece is a very fair price for a customised Toyota land cruiser military edition. You can Google for the current open market value and see before you make a post alleging a scam. 4 Likes |

Kingbilo: There is something fundamentally wrong with us in this country. A state that produces nothing but receives allocation from the FG is donating to d same FG ministry again. Its just crazy. In this trying times. Is that the min of def does not have allocation for things like this or the state has met all its needs and this is excess money. |

codedguy1: The state has a security vote. Most governors that donate equipment to security agencies like the army and the police, use funds from their security votes. There's nothing untoward about that. |

Reptyle: the army is fighting insurgency in the NE which can be termed as external aggression now which arm is in charge of funding the army? is it federal or state government. If there is a security vote for sates, is it not to equip the police to handle internal security? (which can also be linked to the bh 'war'?) Which inventory does the said cars go to? is it not the NA inventory? 1 Like |

Over half of the Nigerian populace are bloody hypocrites. You do, they talk. You don't do, they talk. I weep for most of the youths here saying thrash. Someone even said the jeeps shouldn't cost more than #1.5m apiece. My oh my! Take a trip to a car dealer shop and price how much jeeps sell. Factor in also the cost of shipping and also the dealers commission. We shouldn't just talk for the sake of talking. The prices for the cars are in order. 3 Likes |

tempest01: This is a pointless argument...but let me humour you a little. First of all, an insurgency is not an external aggression...an insurgency is an internal rebellion against constituted authority. Insurgents can however, have external support. The situation in the northeast is a rebellion by Nigerian citizens who wish to institute a caliphate governed by full Islamic law. The army is primarily responsible for the internal security of Borno State and other states in the Northeast for now so they need all the support they can get. Ask yourself when last you heard a news report about the police in Borno State. As to which arm of government is primarily responsible for funding the NA, the States are neither responsible for funding the NA or the Police. All security agencies are primarily funded by the FG because all of those agencies are controlled primarily by the FG. Even the State commissioners of Police do not report directly to the State governors but to the IG of Police who in turn reports to the President. The States only contribute to any of the security agencies to better equip them to face the security challenges of the State. That is why in Lagos for instance, you have a taskforce called Operation MESA that support the State to fight crime. The taskforce is peopled 100% by soldiers of the NA and Navy but their operations are funded exclusively by the LASG. Yes, the Army is primarily put together to tackle external aggression. But there are times they assist in internal security operations. It is still within their constitutional rights to do so. By funding the internal operations of the NA, neither the Borno State Governor nor the Lagos State governor has breached the constitution. I hope you understand better now. 4 Likes |
