In my friends church, every gift is received by the head of prayer team.

After the wedding ceremony is over, prayer team gathers and prays on all the gifts while opening them.

The couple usually receives the gift the next day, thereabouts.

Won't be a bad idea to adopt that practice.

Logic, yes but looking at it from another angle... There are 3 stones in a stove carton and money and that little iron that is used to tap fire. Its too creepy for me o, you think the person will write his/her name on it for recognition? Pure jazzed gift, they should pray and burn it or even pee on it.
If you can't give a gift, just be present at the wedding that's all. I sha plan to have a small beautiful wedding, with less gifts and no form of spraying.
