Thanks Onegai and others, for this thread. I also love flowers so much. I came here some years ago to get more knowledge on flowers before I started planting.

Here are a few of mine.

Please, is it possible to plant tulips in Nigeria? If yes, where can I get them from?

Thank you.

Thanks so much!

I must admit it was a lot of work in between . Two gardeners actually asked me to give it up and start afresh! But funding didn’t let me give up. With the benefit of hindsight and experience I’d advice anyone else to go for port harcourt grass . It’s much easier to maintain and grow too!

Thanks for the tips. I have a large space I need to turn into a lawn. I will go for port Harcourt grass whenever I am ready.

I know coconut isn't a n ornamental plant but I just felt like posting this here, this is a coconut tree in my compound that just started flowering, I was just fascinated by the sight smiley smiley

Depending on how you view it, every tree has a certain ornamental value. Coconut is definitely one of those.
I would plant coconuts in my compound. It is a neat tree (doesn't litter) and it's fruits are valuable.

It’s locally called the royal or golden palm. I’m not immediately sure what the botanical name is. Many people place them in pots but I find that it doesn’t quite grow as tall and remains a yellow/golden hue mostly

The pink flowers are a variant of hibiscus .

The yellow ones in front are “locally ” called yellow bush.

Flamboyant flower, it's really blooming now and I love the splash of red, I would've snapped it on the tree, but it's enclosed in a fence.

Port Harcourt grass is easier to use mower machine on. It makes your lawn look more beautiful . I will be willing to give more advise whenever you're ready for planting.

Do not wait for the flower because you may wait forever. To care for it : water lightly when the upper soil is dry. Occasionally clean the leaves with damp soft rag.
